Had an issue with my hot water heater and Bill was able to stop by my house within 30 minutes of me calling. Really nice guy, very reasonably priced and extremely honest. When I told him what was wrong with our system he was able to quickly diagnose the issue and find a quick solution, all despite the fact that he said he's never seen this type of issue in his over 30 years in the business. He's officially got me as a customer for as long as I am in the area.

He's supposed to be great, but I called twice and left messages. I also got his cell number from a neighbor and texted him. I never heard back at all. Maybe he doesn't need any more business right now? Disappointing, in any case, given his good reputation.

Has always been great when I've needed help. Too busy for his own good sometimes, but really great at prioritizing emergencies. When I had no heat he was right there. When my water heater broke in the winter he was right there. Less urgent jobs he has had to fit around emergencies but I've always been really impressed with his courtesy and professionalism, and really reasonable pricing.

He came out and looked at my faucet and told me to buy a part and that he would come back once I bought the part. I bought the part. I called him 10 times over 3 weeks. He never called me back. Not once. I left polite messages. I wished him well and hoped that he was OK. He never called back even to say that he regretted to inform me that he was no longer interested in the job for whatever reason. I am very disappointed and surprised given his positive reviews and his interaction with me when he was in my house. I would not recommend him at this time.

I hate calling plumbers. My experience has generally been the kind of experience that some women report with mechanics: they come, the don't really fix the problem, they charge a huge amount, and later I discover that the problem had an easier fix.

Which I guess in one way is good because it's forced me, as a new homeowner, to learn more about how the plumbing works.

But I recently had a problem that required more knowledge and tools than I had at my disposal, and I was under a time crunch to fix the problem (truth be told, what plumbing issues don't we need solved in a hurry?) and I made the dreaded call. But this time I did the wise thing and put out a call for help on Facebook, and three people recommended Bill.

As they should have. He came out on a snow day, the same morning I called, was quick, and charged a nominal fee. The neighborhood loves him, apparently.

I'm sold.
