Main lined clogged twice within a week. Second time I called I suggested that a camera is used to identify the source, but the technician told me he wasn't told by dispatch about the camera request. Instead the technician lectured me that 30 day warrantee for a main line clean-out is good for 3 times only and that I'd need to schedule and pay for a separate camera for that visit even though the clog is within 20 feet of the yard cleanup toward the city sewer. The tech is missing the point. I wanted to solve the root of the problem, but I think he was defensive because he doesn't carry a camera on his truck and wasn't properly informed by dispatch. I added a star since the company called me back and listened to the initial recording where I suggested a camera. They apologized and we agreed to wait to see if there is another problem vs. scheduling yet another visit (and me waiting for the tech for 4 hours at a property that is not my home).

The community should know that I had a very good experience with Bill Howe a few weeks ago when a tech expertly fished out a gasket stuck 40 feet in the line. I hope that this is a one-time issue (we all have our off da

Talked to someone over the phone about a quote for some work I wanted done. The employee was extremely sexist and condescending, telling me that my ""husband or boyfriend"" wouldn't be able to do the maintenance involved with the work.

1. Why do you assume I (as a woman) wouldn't be attempting the maintenance myself?

2. Why do you assume I'm in a relationship at all?

Safe to say, I will not be using Bill Howe for this reason.

Used Bill Howe to install a new kitchen sink faucet and repair a bathroom sink faucet that was dripping. Their rates are very high, but the work was very low quality.

The new kitchen sink faucet came loose a few days after installation. Had to have them back in (I insisted on a different plumber) and re-install. The bathroom sink faucet now has the same drip it had before after only a year and a half (and the other faucets of the same make have lasted over 10 years without dripping).

Will not be using Bill Howe again and recommend no one else does either.

Tony and Rico from Bill Howe are awesome!! We live in a high rise HOA and only had four hours of water shut off time to change out 11 angle stops- definitely a tight deadline, but they made it happen! They also helped us with installing a new garbage disposal, faucet, dishwasher, and sink hookups. Would definitely call them again for any plumbing projects. Thank you!!

I have had nothing but great experience with Bill Howe. The people who answer and dispatch are kind and the plumbers are all knowledgeable. I'd like to really highlight Corey who is a gas specialist. He is super knowledgeable and informational. He really knows and cares about what he's doing and safety and ways to make everything go together. Without Corey's knowledge I would have been lost on where to go next. As a small business owner I'm so happy to have Bill Howe be a reliable company in San Diego.

Bill Howe sent Daniel to fix our leaking kitchen drain/pipes. Daniel was friendly, efficient, straightforward and got the job done professionally. The folks who take the appointments and manage them were equally efficient and pleasant when booking and also with followup calls to reconfirm. I like that they use text messaging to let you know they are in their way etc. they include a photo of the plumber which might be a nice feature for those who are conscious about security. Thanks Bill Howe!

We had an emergency last night around 6:00pm with sewer water flowing out of our clean-out pipe all over the driveway.. I called no less than 7 24/7 emergency plumbers and no one was available to come out and help us. Roto Rooter was the cheapest but had no one available until 10-12:00am. All Star charged between $495-$595. Anderson Plumbing was reasonable & considerate but their guy was stuck on a 2 job. I spoke with Coastal Plumbing but then they never called me back We thought we had an appt. with Family Plumbing but then they didn't show.
Last call was to Bill Howe Plumbing. Chris, the technician, called me right back and was at my door 40 minutes later having driven from Mission Valley to Carlsbad. He worked hard until midnight to clear the main line drain. He stopped the nasty water from coming out of the drain but then said I'll have to come back tomorrow to finish the job. He was nice, respectful and knew what he was doing.
The next day it was determined the blockage was in the main sewer line and the HOA at Rancho Carlsbad would take over the work.
I will use Bill Howe again b/c they showed a genuine Sense of Urgency for my problem and responded. I appreciate that!

The property manager for my condo building called for an emergency service call at 7:30am -- I had a leak in my wall in my condo. I'm on the second floor. Water was leaking down from my unit, through the unit below me, into the garage below that unit. A steady continuous leak. Bill Howe could send someone out for an emergency service call between 5-8pm. Twelve hours later, Pattric Nealey showed up. And immediately said he couldn't do anything because he ""couldn't open the wall due to 'asbestos.'"" So please explain to me why he or anyone at Bill Howe couldn't inform us of that that BEFORE THEY SENT THIS PERSON OUT TO REPAIR AN EMERGENCY LEAK TWELVE HOURS AFTER RECEIVING A REPORT THAT WATER WAS ACTIVELY LEAKING TWO STORIES DOWN?

This person didn't bother to even figure out where it might be leaking. Nor did he say I could bash a hole in the wall myself with a hammer. He stood there and said ""he couldn't do anything."" Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada. I kicked him out of my house after 10 minutes.

Please explain to me why this company would send someone out and attempt to charge emergency service charges (double time? time-and-a-half?) and not do a thing? After I threw him out, I called the property manager, and told them to dispute the charges.

This man was the most unprofessional person I've ever seen. I have an active leak, and he... isn't going to do anything or suggest possible solutions to the problem? Yeah, nope. I requested that the property manager never use this company again. This is unethical business practices and smacks of false billings.

Bill Howe, you can be the last plumber in San Diego, and you will NEVER be allowed into my unit. Unethical scammers shouldn't be allowed to do business in an emergency situation.

Side note: California, and San Diego, have laws governing who can ""open"" the wall for plumbing issues, because of potential asbestos. I get that. But this despicable company didn't bother to inform anyone to a) have someone on hand who could cut open the drywall, b) have the plumber tell me I could open the drywall, c) even have the ""plumber"" listen to identify where the leak was. You don't get paid to send out someone to stand there and say ""I can't do anything."" You get paid when you stop the leak you were hired to do. Oh, and guess what? There was no asbestos in my wall. #epicfail

(And two weeks later I'm still so mad, I'm considering talking to my attorney about the damages incurred from the additional 24 hours I had to wait to get the leak stopped.)
