After having three plumbers come to my house and attempt to fix my poorly draining tub, all of them told me that my pipes were just old and I would have to install new plumbing in my entire home. (And still charged a service fee!)

I went on the Bill Howe website and was able to easily book an appointment through their chat service.

The technician was on time and very patient with my curious kiddos.

He was honest and respectful and within 45 minutes my tub was draining better than when we moved in!

Our water main broke and it was a crisis. Dave at Bill Howe was clearly the best among the four bids we got - not just on price but competence, game plan, time to completion, etc. so we chose their bid and they did not disappoint. Got the job done not only as they promised, but better thought out, quicker and cheaper than promised by the other bidders (in whom I had less confidence). We won't use anyone else in the future. Our water blew, and Howe was the only plumber able to come out and replace it on the weekend. They came and did an estimate of the water damage, and they had everything demoed and repaired in a couple of months. Communication was good, the workers were efficient, and they all followed COVID protocols on request. Nice work.

So far have had a terrible experience with this company. I agreed to have a plumbing technician come over to assess a water heater and leaking pipe. I agreed to a no fee inspection and afterwards the technician told md it was at his discretion to charge me $49 for the ""free inspection"" and would tack it onto the total for the job. He quoted us $189/hour and said it would take 1 1/2hours to install the lower element on our Rheem water heater. He sent us to Home Depot to purchase the part and told us he would be back here to fix it at 7:00am. He never showed up and when I called the company they told me that he was on call all day and put us on the schedule from 4 to 8pm. I asked for the $49 fee to be waved and the receptionist told me she would send the information over and someone would call me back. I was called back and reassured I wouldn't be charged the $49 from yesterday and a new service tech named Tony would come over this morning and also for no fee. Next I get a phone call from a service manager named Mauricio telling me he will come over to assess the job. He's not a technician. He asked how much we were quoted and he said he would need 1 1/2 hours to complete the job. He didn't even come over. Something seems off about this company. If you like getting the run around then give this company a call. As for me, I am going to keep searching until I find a reputable company with reliable technicians that keep their word and honor their agreements.

Second time Bill Howe has bailed us out! Living in an older Clairemont neighborhood has its advantages but the disadvantage is that we are living in homes with cast iron and clay plumbing that is over 60 years old.

This time our shower and bathtub (both bathrooms) were backing up and not draining at all. Called Bill Howe Plumbing at 7:30am and someone answered! The person who assisted us was super friendly and she let me know someone would be out between 2-5pm but she would work to see if anyone could swing by earlier between jobs. I am bummed I didn't write down the lady's name who answered the call because she was amazing!

By 7:48am we received a text that Robby S was on his way! Robby called shortly after the text to let us know he was about 15 minutes away and would be at our home soon. Robby listened to what wet had tried and then explained his plan to clear the drain. Super professional and really nice. By 845am our clog was cleared and drains open and operating as necessary!

And the cost for this service was affordable and well worth paying!

Highly recommend Bill Howe plumbing and if you live in Clairemont might want to have their number tucked away as it's kinda what we have to deal with :-)

My bathtub drain has been leaking below. On 2 separate occasions I have had Bill Howe plumbers come out to fix the issue. The first time cost me $300. The second $600. Now they are telling me it's something totally different. Why did I have to pay $900 to figure that out when it should have been diagnosed the first time. If your employees really are professionals why have I paid you so much for nothing? I feel like I am being suckered for money. I'd like a refund or some type of reimbursement because this is rediculous. And most of all I just want my damn tub drain fixed.
