I began my plumbing apprenticeship with Ray Gramley at Gramley Plumbing & Heating in 1957, and after his retirement, Duane (Jake) Boos and I took over, keeping the Gramley name until 1969 when I officially established Bill George Plumbing.
Thus, even though this name has existed for 44 years, I can truthfully state that I have been dedicated to the good folks of northwest Illinois for more than 50 years.
Approaching retirement, my oldest grandson, Kyle Williams, is slowly taking the reins.
Since he was fourteen, he has been assisting me during summers and holidays and has earned an Accounting degree from North Park in Chicago.
He requested to join me after graduation ""until he determined his direction,"" and luckily for me and my clients, he decided to follow in my footsteps and take over the family business.
Born and raised in Freeport, I graduated from FHS in 1957 and began my plumbing apprenticeship with Gramley Plumbing, taking over the business in 1959 when Ray retired and officially renaming it Bill George Plumbing in 1969.
If you ask me how many years I've been in business, I can truthfully say it's more than 50!
I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Judy Bloyer, for 55 years since 1958. We have two daughters, Heidi (Dave) Williams and Kathy (Scott) King, and four grandsons: Kyle (Amber) and Danny Williams, and Christopher and Matthew King, along with one son, Billy (Catherine), and our great-granddaughter, Finley.
When I'm off the clock, I cherish moments with my black lab, Charlie (and Judy, naturally) at our tranquil lakeside haven in Wisconsin.

I got a phone call in about 5 minutes and it was from George he said he would be in Shannon IL in 30 minutes. He was and fixed the problem the same day for me. That is the BEST service one could ever ask for. Our local plumber would not give me the time of day or referral to someone that could help. Jesse M.Terrible. Quoted me for moving my bathroom toilet and sink as we expanded our bathroom. Charged extra for setting the toilet and sink when they were informed they would be setting these when they gave the quote. Also left the old pipes under the house in the crawl space.
