My journey began my career in plumbing in 1997, and I have worked in various fields of plumbing, including new home builds, commercial projects, and industrial work. The majority of my time has been spent in residential service. I have worked for some of the biggest plumbing firms in New York and Colorado, and I have observed the drop in customer service while costs for services have skyrocketed. This realization is what inspired me to launch Big Apple Plumbing LLC. I aim to bring back the service quality aspect of plumbing, alongside reasonable pricing and to foster lasting connections with my customers, their families, and the area I call home.

Had a new hot water heater installed. After installation the hot water taps spit gas and hot water. They were gonna charge me $500 for a new anode rod to fix the problem. Are you kidding me? So they comped that repair which I guess is why I'm giving them two stars. After that was fixed our both his&hers hot water faucets dropped water pressure by 80%. They said the issue was corrosion in the faucet handle mechanism and wanted around $1,000 to replace them. But this makes no sense as the cold water faucets were still working well and both hot water taps going out at the same time isn't coincidence it's correlation. Obviously their work caused detritus that clogged the supply line. They denied this and refused to drain and flush the supply line. Then just walked away. I was professional throughout and tipped quite well and was blown away by their lack of acknowledgement. Now we have hot water, but our tank is no longer under warranty because they did a repair on it, and our master bathroom hot water sinks aren't functioning properly. Far from ideal.
Jason, pick up your phone! Literally this weeks long process was managed by me calling and leaving messages waiting for him to call back. Not once did he actually pick up one of my rings from the outset. This is a big red flag. If he can't be bothered to pick up your phone call, call another service who hopefully will be more responsive.
Gabriel, don't just walk away from a customer when they're trying to have a conversation about the source of the problem. Dude literally walked out of my house and to his truck when I tried to explain my reasoning and left before I could offer to split the cost of the supply line flush. Your intern heard me offer this as you walked away. Pity this young dude had to act like more of an adult than you.
Chris G.I would not recommend this company. They charge a $39 fee to come out and give you a price. The prices they quote are outrageous for the work to be done. Find a company that will quote their services without a fee. This really felt like a scam.
Big Apple Plumbing and Heating did a fine job for me. They responded quickly and performed quality work. They missed out on a 5 star rating because they didn't honor the senior discount they advertise on their phone greeting. I was told the discount doesn't apply to that pricing. So does that mean they up the price in order to give the discount?
We received a prompt reply and excellent service and workmanship. Gabriel Azzalin, who did the work, was personable, knowledgeable
and skilled. We will definitely call Big Apple for plumbing services in the future.
I am so glad I called Big Apple. We had a pipe burst and had to shut off the main line inlet, so no showers, sinks or toilets. They not only came out on the same day, they met the appointment time. The plumber, Gabriel Azzalin, was extremely knowledgeable and explained all of our options clearly and patiently so that we made a fully informed decision with no sales pressure. His work was top notch, clean, and efficient. I will definitely work with him and Big Apple again. Recommend.
From prompt response to quick and efficient service this company is very customer-Centric. The company owner takes personal ownership and interest in each of the clients and ensures to follow through on all performed work.
These guys were really responsive. I ended up having to cancel, but their attentiveness was top notch.
Great service, clear communication, and very thorough work. Thank you for the help with our emergency plumbing issue!
Just purchased a home and had a leak coming from our copper waterline pipe connected to our fridge. We placed an emergency after-hours call which was $140 just to get someone out there. I was warned in advance about this, so, fair enough.
Our plumber, Gabriel, arrived and was pleasant, polite and friendly. Unfortunately, this is where the positivity ends. He spent the entire time looking at our waterline in the basement and assessing how much it would cost to replace the entire thing - instead of focusing on the leak problem which was up by our fridge. I felt like he spent all his time figuring out how to upcharge us on the job instead of focusing on the actual problem. He quoted me at $1,000 to fix the problem ""properly."" I asked him to send me some estimates and we'd decide what to do next day.
My wife's grandpa and dad are both handymen and know a fair amount about plumbing and said the estimate provide was incredibly outrageous for the problem. We ended contacting another plumber and they did exactly what Gabriel was proposing but for $100 flat.
Do not be deceived by the friendly customer service - they are just looking to rip you off. I understand the job may slightly vary in price, but charging 10x the actual cost is inexcusable.
Alaina M.These are the people you wish you could hire to fix everything in your house. Always professional, timely, thorough, and trustworthy. Gabriel will walk you through what he finds as well as write up a detailed report for your records. They have been our reliable, go-to for everything plumbing related for years now and always get out to check our issues quite quickly (even when our heater broke in a below zero week long snow storm). Thanks team!
