Our garbage disposal broke and our kitchen sink got stuck up so bad that even just running the dishwasher left me a sink full of dirty water that wouldn't go down. My kitchen felt so unsanitary that I didn't even feel like working in there, and it happened over the weekend. But I called Big Angelo's after reading their good reviews, and they agreed to come out the same day! They even gave me two choices of times! I had already bought a new disposal but didn't know how to install it. Big Angelo's was nice enough to put it in for me and cleaned out the drain. They did the dirty work, but didn't leave a trace of dirt behind, not like other plumbers I've hired in the past who traced dirty water down my hallway - yuck! I would definitely call Big Angelo's again. 10 Stars!

We bought our home about 15 years ago when the building was 41 years old. For the first three or four years that we owned the home, we used a franchised business to solve plumbing problems. The prices were high but the service was excellent. We got quite frustrated when the service seriously deteriorated. The problem was that the employee who had been assigned to our account, Joe, left the franchise operation to start his own business.

Whilst the house is now 56 years old, the original plumbing skills/techniques and original materials were MUCH older than that (a consequence of living in Monterey). Consequently, we have had to replace much of our plumbing, frequently on an emergency basis. Both interior and exterior plumbing have had to be replaced.

All of the replacement work has been performed by Big Angelo's Plumbing. Without exception, the work has been professional. Projects are consistently completed ahead of expected time and under budget. When unanticipated significant problems have been encountered, I have informed on a timely basis.

Over time, we've had a few plugged lines. Each time, I called Joe. He's come when promised, or earlier, and fixed the problem quickly, at a very reasonable price.

The most important question that can ever be asked about a service provider is whether you would hire them again. There is no doubt that I definitely would, and do, re-hire Joe. In fact, I have engaged him to be the on-call plumber for the apartment building that my wife and I own.

Hired them to clear a clog in the sewage line. A man named Juan was able to clear the line but recommended we have a camera placed up the pipes to see if there was a broken pipe or roots. He said he cleared the pipe but it would only last temporarily, since the pipe needed repair, estimating a cost of 3K.
As he predicted, the line was stopped again after just 2 days, but instead of calling them, we tried to get another opinion and hired All Service Plumbing instead. They came and cleared the line, stating there was nothing wrong and the line was cleared completely. As of 2 months, no problems and Big Angelo charged $180, while All Service was $120. You be the judge. Buyer beware.

I am INCREDIBLY impressed with this company and particularly, Joe, the owner. We used Big Angelo's for installation of 2 bathroom faucets, a dishwasher connector replacement and a hot water heater flush. The tech who came out initially and performed the work was very personable and seemed quite knowledgeable. We had a couple questions/issues about his work almost as soon as he left. I left a message that evening and received an almost immediate call back from the tech with answers. One of the issues we were able to resolve on our own. The other issue, a sink not holding water, eventually bothered me enough so that I called and spoke to Joe a couple weeks later. He actually answered the phone (rare these days), sincerely apologized for the inconvenience and said he could be at our house the next day. He was, arriving within the quoted 2 hour window, addressed the issue, taking the time to explain to me what was done. He was professional, courteous and committed to doing his best work. I will not only use Big Angelo's again but will HIGHLY recommend them to friends/family in need of plumbing work! I have never taken the time to write a Yelp review but if ever a company deserved a positive review, it's this one!

We were unfortunate enough to have our furnace die on a weekend. On top of that, we had guest arriving the night it broke. I called local heating companies and no one was available to come out that day. I called Big Angelo's and they were on top of it right away. These guys are professionals! The boss came out to see if he could diagnose and fix the problem. Since it was a weekend he did not have the part available, but he went out of his way and tried contacting local businesses on Monday to see if they were able to help. Unfortunately they did not have the part needed because a local company who installed the furnace swapped out the panel claiming it was a Honeywell heater when in fact it was not. He found the problem and we had to replace the furnace. I love my replacement furnace! His technician came out to install the furnace and he was awesome! They handled the problem, were efficient and charged us very fairly. Overall it was a very positive experience! Thank you guys!!

horrible horrible horrible customer service. Returned my phone call only after several messages and scheduled a service but never called to cancel and never showed. Left more messages to see if something happened and they had to reschedule, but again I never received a call back. The good reviews on here must know something I don't.

I would like to chime in on the positive experiences others have had. My office furnace when out and there was a gas leak from my water heater. Situation was pink tagged by PG&E. The replacement of the furnace involved a very difficult extraction, which was bid and actually was quite expensive as bid by several companies. I then had it extracted by some ""gorilla labor."" I bought independently a state of the art ultra high efficency furnace and had it put in place. Big Angelos rebid the hookup, including working with PGE and the city at a much lower rate. They handled everything and were able to retrofit much of existing equipment with a no worries attitude and job delivery. I should add before ending that other companies had difficulty even assessing the situation. Thanks for working with me to solve my problems. Good people... Thanks

These guys used to be good! However, in the last couple months they haven't returned phone calls, emails, etc. If you're too busy, at least call a repeat customer back and say so! I've had to switch plumbers because of this. I wouldn't recommend based on lack of communication.

This review is based off of their communication or really lack of it..

Upon my first call i was put into contact with one of their tecs and he came in quickly. He was professional and nice, found the problems that needed to be fixed and said he would call back after the weekend when he had the parts. Three days later nothing. I then proceeded to call them every few days for two weeks, always getting voice mail and never once getting called back. I finally gave up on them assuming they did not want to complete the job.

I feel like the odd one out here who had a bad experience with these people.. All the five star reviews make me feel like i got the short end of the stick...

It would have been nice to receive a call back instead of waiting two weeks with the issues unsolved. It is for that reason i give 1 star.
