Beyer Boys installed a new AC with a full 10-year warranty, they have been a great company to work with!

Received very unprofessional service today. AC tech came out, asked me what I thought the issue was, blew some pressure in my exterior AC drain and said nope, it's a plumbing issue. I even explained on the phone what my problem was before they came out. Total bill for maybe 10 minutes on my premises was $180. Said it was a flat rate charge even if they couldn't fix it. At least Beyer could have credited some of that $$ towards one of their plumbers. I will never use them again. Exorbitant price for absolutely nothing.

My 86 year old mother in San Antonio called the Beyer Boys to come out and fix a toilet. They came out and fixed it--they called it a rebuild of generic toilet which basically was new flapper, new supply line and the tank guts. $286 for a 15 minute job plus the $25 trip fee. I asked her to never call them again for any work. Talk about gouging customers!!

My experience with this company has not been stellar. They are mostly about getting in and out, charging for every little thing and absolutely NOT about customer service. After seeing that I couldn't move some boxes, the serviceman just stood there and didn't offer to help me.
It is quite a shame to have used and trusted this company for all these years, and then have to look for referrals to switch companies.

For a number of years, I have employed the Beyer Boys to perform semiannual preventive maintenance inspections of heating and air conditioning units. Additionally, in January 2016 I purchased and had them install a 5-ton furnace. In May 2017, I hired their plumbing division to install a toilet. For the most part services were satisfactorily rendered. I had one instance where shortly after their preventive maintenance my heating system stopped working. They responded quickly and determined that their serviceman who had performed the preventive maintenance had not put parts back together correctly. Since they were the ones who had caused the problem, there was no charge. I was pleased that they took responsibility for the problem since I would have been none the wiser had they not done so.
Unfortunately, on Friday, December 15, 2017, I had a totally unacceptable experience during the semiannual preventive maintenance inspection. The serviceman approached my wife, who had had no dealings with him, and asked her to "sign off" that she had been informed that he was shutting off the gas. My wife declined to sign without first telling me about this request. Upon inquiry, the serviceman explained to me that new regulations prompted by some fires prohibit boxes from being stacked near furnaces; we had boxes stacked between the two furnaces. The serviceman did NOT give us option to move the boxes! His first instinct for "customer service" for preventive maintenance was to shut off the gas. We had to ask permission to move the boxes to avoid shutdown of gas. As we took less than a minute to move several boxes, the serviceman stood by and watched us.
At 10 a.m., upon the serviceman's departure, I called the Beyer Boys to speak to the service manager. The service manager not in, so reception promised to email him to contact me re service complaint. Not hearing back from the service manager, I called again 5 hours later at 3 p.m. I was told he was gone for the day. When I said I need to terminate the service contract, reception offered to contact him and have him call me back.
The service manager thereupon called me back right away. He was defensive and kept insisting that serviceman is required to shut off gas for safety. I explained that I agreed with the safety measure, but I should have FIRST be given option to move boxes. The service manager kept questioning my commitment to safety. He said he'd talk to the serviceman and instruct him IF what I said had happened. When I said I would terminate service contract, he told me to go ahead and do so. I then called reception again to terminate service contract.
After explaining to reception what had happened, reception said she'd have a senior person call me on Monday, December 18th. As of 4 p.m. that Monday, the senior person still had not called me, so I called once again to terminate the service contract. Reception said he was not in, but she'd contact him to call me. He thereupon called right away and was very receptive to my concerns in all respects. He also said that he would bring all this to the attention of PAT BEYER who is in charge of this division. I said that unless I was credited for the service call, I would terminate and engage instead a different company that had been recommended to me. He agreed and reception called me right back to confirm.
This should have been a satisfactory conclusion. Unfortunately, when it was time for the next preventive maintenance inspection on May 1, 2018, the very SAME serviceman came to my house. He acted as though he had never been there before, as though nothing had happened before. I believe it was poor judgment to send the SAME serviceman, especially in the absence of any apology from him. And so, in November 2018, I did indeed terminate the services of Beyer Boys and hired a different company, at lesser cost, at that.

had a new furnace and a/c systems installed yesterday. today, outside vent is overheating, all heat vented outside and a/c running at the same time. representative says "no service people available" STAY AWAY

Strait con artist....they serviced my system in the past I even bought a new Furnace from them 2 yrs ago. My central air went out..was not cooling..well I called the beyer boys and expected to pay something I dont expect anything for free...but I did expect them to treat me like a returning customer. The tech hooked up the gauges and looks at me and says well the whole system is shot..your compressor, you condenser and coils are all shot...I told him I didn't Understand the unit is not that old and I just bought a furnace from them the previous year, so he tells me I have a unit with R22 the most expensive freon out there cost $100 per pound and my unit carries at least 10lbs...
So I paid their $65 fee to look at the unit you know the service call if you dont hire them...
Funny part is I called them on a Friday so he was real quick to tell me they couldn't fix it till Monday if I wanted to order the unit...well after 2 different companies looking at it they both asked if I bought a furnace from them why didn't the convert the freon...well I had to save up my pennies and 4 months later I call to get my ac fixed but I called a different company..and wouldn't you know I only paid $2000
To replace a coil...the fan motor and the compressor were both fine and did not need a whole new unit...I spent all of The months of May, June and most July with no A/c now I have a cool house no thanks to the beyer boys..I have an Idea why dont yall be Men and treat customers with respect and tell them the truth instead of just saying "the system is just shot you need a new one"..LAME

I called Beyer boys at 10am for a water heater issue. Went through a checklist of my issues and model. They said they would arrive between 2-6. The repair guy calls at 5:15 to say he's on his way, and asked what model I have. I told them a whirlpool. He said this company doesn't have parts for them. He said he could come out anyway and charge me 197.00 if I like. Thanks Beyer boys. Now I have to call another company and pay after hours pricing to fix this. This could have been told to us much earlier in the day, without dealing with a condescending repair man who didn't want to drive 45 minutes to my house.

After a diagnostic fee of $89.00 (normal) the Beyer Boys provided an Estimate for repairs with a 1 line work cost (parts labor) of over $1200. Minus expected labor, It turns out they were attempting to pass a cost of aprox. $900 for a $350 (retail) oem blower motor. Do not trust their estimates particularly if they are not itemized with real part numbers. I would normally expect some degree of markup but this is gross overcharging. I knew better because I had already called around for parts estimates and asked what the labor alone charge would be.
Make you own conclusions as to their credibility; At the very least whomever is doing their estimates is including gross overages in parts costs.
As a result decided to sourced the part myself and hired someone else to complete the (simple) repair which was completed in under an hour. My total costs at well below half of their estimate. Cool air today without being taken advantage of... Priceless.
I would not call Beyer Boys again. Before writing this review I offered them the chance to explain their estimate ?mistake?; no reply was given. I requested a refund of the 89.00 diag fee to compensate for their poor estimate and they refused.
2 stars because at least the diagnosis was correct but note, I already knew what was wrong with the system (blower motor broken)

We have been customers of Beyer Boys for many years but a bad experience with a Lennox 3ton AC that was installed in 2008 and in 2011 problems started to arise. The outdoor fan motor had to be replaced thankfully still under warranty. In Oct 2014, at inspection time the tech said unit was low on charge and determined that the indoor coil was leaking and needed to be changed. After much discussion, it was determined that the coil would be replaced at no cost to us. Then in June 2016 the inside OEM 1/2 hp ECM Motor & Module went out, cost $1,487. We have our two units checked twice a year by Beyer Boys to insure all is operating properly. Had a spring check on Apr 23rd and told all was find with both our units. I told the tech that I smelled an odor coming from the upstairs unit every time it came on so he checked for mold and none was to be found. Then 24 days later our 3ton unit stop cooling. Called Beyer Boys and a tech came out within 2 hours of my call. It took him less than 10 minutes to tell us the inside coils were leaking. I wonder if the smell coming from the unit was the leaking of the coils!! Not sure why the check 24 days prior did not reveal this leak. Instead of giving us an estimate on the replacement of the coils, he shows the brochure for a new AC unit, $8558 to $10439 and charged us $87 for a service charge. I left a message for the Service Manger, Eric Luna, to call me back so I could discuss the issues with this unit with him. When he failed to call me back within a reasonable time frame I called the operator at BB and they insured me that they would contact him and have him call me. I never received a reply from him. The solution to our problem is not to purchase a Lenox unit ever again and to change to another company for our AC/Heating needs.
