My AC system is functioning but it has small water leaking along condensation drain line. I called Beutler air conditioning and plumbing, the technician from Beutler came and checked the system, he said he do not work on hydronic system, he did not know how to fix the problem, and suggested to replace the whole AC system. Do not recommend this company.

In need of a bedroom air conditioner, I went through Home Depot to purchase one. They do not sell the one I needed, but rather only offer it with a local installation. Okay, that's fair.
So, Home Depot only has one, somewhat local, company they will work with and that is Beutler. Okay, so I could do this, have someone install my $400 air conditioner and make sure it's done right. Easy enough, right? WRONG, no so fast, Grasshopper.
Beutler called me and their minimum install price to put in this $400 air conditioner is, get this, $15,000!!!!
Yes, you heard that right, $15,000 to install a $400 AC unit. I questioned her repeatedly and was sure that she was mistaken. Oh, no, she consistently reiterated that $15,000 is their price.
She said that I could have someone come to my home and explain to me in a 60-90 minute meeting why it would cost $15,000 to install a $400 AC unit. She said it is VERY, VERY labor intensive. I told her that there is a YouTube video done by This Old House that shows how to do it and that it's simple and not time consuming.
I asked if there was someone there knowledgeable on the subject that I could talk to as to why it's so expensive and she said, ""No."" They only was to get answers was through an in-home visit. Ah, no thank you, Beutler.
So, as a concerned customer and shareholder of Home Deport, I reached out to them to drop this company and get other options for installations. The Home Depot Manager seemed VERY concerned about this situation. Beutler is ruining the reputation of Home Depot.

We moved into a house in 2007, which had been completely redone inside and out back in 2004. Somehow the house inspector missed the fact that the AC was not putting out enough cold air to handle the heat in Sac. So each year we called a handful of AC companies come out and none of them could identify the problem and virtually all recommended we purchase a new system, even though the system we had was fairly newish. In Beutlers defense we had easily a dozen different AC companies come over and none of them found the problem either. Beutler recommended the ducts get cleaned...so we did, the problem persisted. They recommended we replace not only the AC unit, but redo the duct work as well. My wife has construction contacts and had Park Mech. come over. Ten minutes after he arrived the problem was identified. During the remodel back in 04 the AC unit sucked up construction material that covered the coil, making it virtually useless. Beutler agreed to cut out the coil, clean it, and reinstall it free of charge. It's been working fine ever since.
Today I learned my wifes parents had their new AC unit, which went out last week, installed by Beutler 5 years ago. According to another AC repairman, who along with years of experience also used to do AC inspections, visited them to see if he could fix the unit. He found that the installation was botched and required several issues to be resolved for it to be considered a professional install. The inlaws explained to me that the capacitor was free, under warranty, but they only paid for labor....to make the corrections needed because of the poor install. I'll be following up on this as I firmly believe they should not be charged anything to make needed corrections on the original installation.

Buetler has the worst service with extremely unprofessional staff and management. They seem to be completely unqualified. Avoid them at all costs.

Just wanted to say that Beutler originally put the HVAC in our house when it was built. The house is only just 11 years old and the AC went out last week and we needed a new one. We have used their annual service plan over the years. I didn't this year but didn't feel this was an excuse for them never returning not one but two phone calls when it went out! Needless to say We will not be using them again!!

Day 4 and still no one returns calls. Finally Beutler answers the phone and not an answering service. They are apparently more than a week behind on returning calls. Really??

This review is specific to my recent request for air conditioning service from Beutler.
I was recently in need of air conditioning service. Anyone who lives in Roseville, Rocklin, or the Sacramento-area, knows how important air conditioning is during the summer months, especially considering the 110+ temperatures we've been experiencing lately. I have a home service plan with Beutler, so when my air conditioning system failed on 6/20/17 I called them hoping beyond hope they could respond (I was told individuals with a home service plan were given priority service over the general population). Not only did it take over 20 minutes to get someone to answer the call, Beutler could not offer any information regarding availability or expectations for a return call. In fact, Beutler didn't even ask if we had a home service plan. I called Beutler again approximately 90 minutes later and left our information a second time, ensuring they knew we had a home service plan. Today is 6/23/17, and Beutler has still not called us in response to our service requests. If Beutler was my only option, I would have been living out of a hotel room the past few days (spending more for rental accommodations than I spent with another company to restore air conditioning service at my home).

Very disappointed with the customer service with this company. They sold us a home service plan last year and I have scheduled a maintenance appointment way ahead of time. Well, I have been kicked out of the schedule twice with the reason that there are priority customers. Well, they have our money so why would they even care even if we made the appointment way in advance. Maybe the new callers will need new ac equipment that would give better revenue. Sounds reasonable? So, don't buy those pre paid plans because you will be placed in the back burners. And looks like I have similar problems with some of the reviews. The replies for the negative posts, its a template, its all the same. Sorry, I will be taking my business somewhere else.

As a fairly new homeowner I purchased a tune up for my HVAC about 1 1/2 years ago while strolling around in Home Depot. When the repair man showed up I was told my unit was new & was advised to have another tune up in 2 years. On Friday my AC stopped working as I was packing to head out of town for the weekend. On Saturday morning I called HD & found out who they contracted their HVAC work with as I couldn't remember who it was. Was told it was Beutler. Called them & got an appointment set up for today between 8-10. At 10:30 got a call stating that since I am not a club member & their high demand for service at this time they need to reschedule. First, what is a club member? Second, their next appointment is in 9 days. Wow! If I can wait that long I don't see the need for an AC. Beutler, you made me feel like a second class citizen. Now that I am learning what a club member is it is possible you could have had another right here. Now I am going through HVAC on YELP & trying to find someone else to repair my unit in a reasonable amount of time. Beutler you should have known that you would be receiving numerous calls due to this heatwave. I called as soon as I could & while on a get-away-weekend, knowing this would be the case & I'm not in the industry. You did me wrong & your hands will never touch my unit again.

My AC went out last week. Against my better judgment, I made an appointment days out with Buetler (for this afternoon, between 2-4pm) instead of calling around to get service sooner with another business. This is the voicemail I received 20 minutes before 4pm:
""Hi this is Becca calling from Buetler air conditioning and plumbing. In regards to your appointment that you have scheduled today between two and four, unfortunately we are unable to make that appointment, we do have to reschedule due to a lot of high-volume emergency calls from our plan members. The soonest we can get you in is Wednesday as of right now. If you want to give us a call back to reschedule, the telephone number is 916-646-2230...""
I was essentially bumped for people willing to pay for yearly memberships, evidently ours expired. When I called to explain our emergency situation, they were unwilling to work with me. Never using them again!
