Bestway Mechanical was sent to our home in order to repair the air conditioning unit via contract through our warranty with American Home Shield. They gave us a service time between the hours of 1300-1800. There were two repairmen that came around 1700. They were here for about twenty minutes, guaranteed that the problem with the air conditioning unit was fixed, to give the system a couple of minutes to restart, and everything should be working fine again. We paid them their service fee, got their contact info in case there were problems and the unit did not work, and they left. Immediately I noticed that the upstairs thermostat started reading an increase in temperature (83, then 85 even though the regulation temperature was set to 72). Basically, it was not fixed. I called the number the repairmen gave me around 1730 and they told me they would not come back to fix it and they were off work now. They did not call back in am to check on the ac unit or see if things were working okay. Yet, they were more than happy to take my money, not give a refund for not providing the service in which they were paid to do. Very unprofessional and uncaring after the money was placed in their hands.
This Co is the WORST CO EVER!!!! I waited from 10am -5:30p This joker came out and overcharged my unit. Busted the compressor and said, someone else did it. Called AHS and left.. AHS needs to be ashamed . I took off 4 days of work w/o pay.. I will get to the bottom of this horrible Co. I will deal with AHS, they have got to know this .....Co is NO Good!
Alyson S.Horrible, horrible business. After the technician failed to return to complete our A/C repair (it's July, also), he told us he """"doesn't report to anyone."""" Good luck.
Currently working with AHS and Best Mechanical to repair my downstairs air....well I agree with all the other negative comments. Currently asking Best Mech to give me a detailed copy of the quote to repair my air so I can get a second opinion cause I think its really high and there is the code crap which according to a good friend in the building industry says thats crap in GA....so do some research on the company they send out cause it could save you a lot of money and maybe its time to cut loose AHS....Best Way's quote was approximately $1120 not including the piece that is covered. My friend that owns 1st Mechanical Services sent someone over and he had it up and running with in 2 hours at a fraction of the cost. Bestway Mechanical was charging me for all kinds of unneccessary stuff....be warned get a second opinion maybe its time to rethink the AHS warranty as well....
Absolutely THE worst HVAC repair company. STAY AWAY. Like others, I was assigned this company via crappy AHS. In a nutshell, they have been conducting various repairs on our AC since March. Most recently replaced the compressor. Unit worked for 24 hrs and then stopped. Called to get them back out and they weren't answering or returning calls. Finally, AHS sent another contractor who inspected there work and said that they did a horrible job and we'll likely need to replace not only the one unit but the other unit which they also impacted even though it was working fine. BEWARE!!
I am another unhappy American Home Shield customer. I live in Columbus GA, the technician showed up in good time, but I am not happy about the job they performed. My garbage disposal went out in March and the first company would not come out until a week later even though I could not use my sink without a bucket to catch the water. I did this until I had another day off. When the tech showed up, he made a big deal of telling me how the disposer worked and that it would have to be replaced because of the leak (duh, duh, duh I already knew that) What happened next was he replaced the disposer with one of a lower hp that the original. I called AHS three times before I got an answer and then it was can you prove it. Of course I couldn't because they took the old one with them. I am now stuck with a disposer that takes a lot longer to dispose of the garbage. I would have come off better by just buying a new one and replacing it myself.
Rick F.Another horror story about American Home Shield and BestWay. I am a Property Manager for several homes in the Augusta GA area. I have asked my clients to steer away from AHS since, in my opinion, they are and have been the worse home warranty company ever. Not just for AC, but any covered repair. BestWay happens to be 138 miles or 2.5 hours away from Augusta GA. How do they expect to respond in a reasonable time frame. Anyway, they never responded to many emails and voicemails ever. I ended up contacting a local company which had unit up and running with hours. Word of caution, do not use BestWay and stay away from American Home Shield. There are other home warranty sources out there that appreciate their customers.
If I could give a lower rating, I would. My A/C went out so I contacted American Home Shield. After many delays they sent Bestway Mechanical to look at my HVAC system. The technician decided I needed a new compressor. After jumping through many hoops, the compressor replacement was approved and another technician arrived a week later only to tell me that I needed a whole new system. AHS calls and says that the technician indicated that I would need to install pull down attic stairs to replace the unit and that my home was """"out of code"""". After contacting the County Building and Codes department I found that there is no such code and with my model home if I installed pulled down attic steps in this location I would be in violation of the fire code. I called AHS again and they said they could not do anything since the technician put it in his notes. I called the Bestway Mechanical technician and after he insisted that I was violating code, I told him who I spoke to and what they told me. Then his story changed and he indicated that he wouldn't do the job without pull down attic stairs for """"his own personal safety"""". What a crock. Run from this company! I have contacted the BB and the SCDCA.
I have an American home shield warranty. Bestway was scheduled to come out between 9 and noon on January 8th. at one I gave up and left for work. At 3:00 a driver called and said he is on the way. I told him three hours late with no phone call is unacceptable and I was np longer home. I got a call from their office. The person was irate. We were unable to find another time that fit my schedule do I asked for a different contractor. A few months later I get a bill from American Home Shield for the $75 deductible. I paid it and figured I would dilute it later. When I disputed it they said that the bill said they came and nobody was home. Lie. Lie. Lie. Isn't it illegal to bill an insurance provider for services not rendered. Doctors go to jail for that. American Home Shield needs a supervisor to call me back in 24-48 hours.
If I could give zero stars I would, that's exactly what this company deserve for their customer-no service. Let me explain. So I'm contacted to provide services, set up the appointment, but call the company back to come sooner rather than later. So I take the day off and sit and wait from the appointed time 1-6 pm on 05/18/16. However, no one calls, or shows for the appointment. Meanwhile, I have water from the hot water heater, running down the drive way ALL day. So I contact the company at 5:34pm to ensure that they are coming, only to be told by the answering service that I should wait until 6:00 and call back (since the technician is still in the field). So at 6:07 pm that's exactly what I did. They took down all the information and still no call, no show. WTH. Unreliable. Whether appointment taker messed up or the technician screwed up. I don't care. I have sat here all day without any resolution to the problem. Now, the second part of my story is based on their no call no show. I called American Home Shield to cancel them ( who would want someone in their home, who doesn't appreciate their business) and got the biggest run around. That's another post.
