The technicians came out for an AC repair under a home warranty contract. The unit had jot been working for a couple of days. They came out and rushed through the house as quickly as possible and then went into the backyard and added freon to the system. I asked Cody if they had to add freon then wouldn't that mean there was a leak? He replied yes that is why we recommend the routine maintenance of cleaning the Evap coils. They did not use any """"sniffing"""" tools on the Evap coils upstairs which can be done whether they are clean or not and will detect leaks. They came out got their money as fast as possible doing as little work as possible. If I had to call a company on my own I would never call this one.
AHS send this company to do my service. The tech came in took a part of my AC unit that was defected according to him. He said he will order a replacement part since I was still under contract for my AC unit.. He never came back. That occurs in August 2018. Now I am in April 2019, and still no solution. I have contacted AHS at least 20 times about this. Every time best way will give a different story. First, they said their tech left their company and had no idea what happen. Then, they said they had the part they called me for installation and l did not return their call, which was a lie. Then they said, they never took any parts of my air conditioning, l should be able to contact the manufacturer myself since l am still under contract. I am very disappointed with AHS and best way mechanical. Best way mechanical are liars. They deserve 0 stars in my book.
If I could give a negative star I would. This company came out for a work order on our heat through AHS. The guy went up in the attick for a few mintues then told my husband the motor fell and crushed the control panel. He wrote in to AHS and said a bracket was missing..(like we took it out) and that caused the problems so it was not normal wear and tear. This unit has been in the home since 2004 and had been worked on by several people through the years and no one has ever said any brackets were missing. He also metioned to them that the transformer needed to be replaced. The only reason it needed to be replaced was because he cut the wires to it. We had another company come out and the guy asked why the first guy cut the wires to the transformer. He said it should have been a quick fix but now the whole unit has to be replaced. AHS called Bestway Mechanical and they tried to say we had another company come out prior to them coming out and that company must have cut the wires..????? Why the hell would I pay a company to come work on my unit when I would only have to pay AHS $75 for someone to come fix the problem? Why was the unit working when he got there(he had my husband turn it on) and when he left we couldn't turn it on at all. The only issue was it was making a loud noise like a helicoptor but it was still blowing hot air until he arrived. DO NOT let this company into your home. If AHS tries to send them out PLEASE call back and request another company. Now we are out a lot of mony having to replace our unit when these jerks are the onces that messed it up.
AHS sent them out to repair a busted PRV that caused our basement to flood. Trey came out and I showed him where it was. He used my ladder (never asked), didn't check the main shut off valve for the house, turned on the main at the street and flooded everything again! Set back the clean up crew a whole two days. Turned out there was a second leak (washer hose), and his response was """"we don't do appliances"""". Even though EVERY plumber I've talked to considers everything up to the appliance part of the plumbing. Then he says, """"well, ya got a free PRV out of it!"""" Uh, no. We paid a $100 service fee partner! He left the ladder where he used it, the packaging from the PRV on the floor, and two bags of trash from his van in my driveway!!! Absolutely the worst service and most pathetic excuse of a plumber I've ever seen. NEVER USE THEM!!!
Where do I start? I was assigned this company by AHS warranty to repair a hotwater heater. BestWay recommended replacing the hotwater heater - which cost $475 out of my pocket - supposedly for modifications. 4 days later, my home was flooded with water, to the point that I had to file a homeowners claim for a restoration company to come and clean up and dry behind the walls. I called AHS back and they sent BestWay back to evaluate -- common sense would lead one to think it was related to the recent plumbing work done during the installation of the hot water heater. The technician walked in, and made the diagnosis of a """"slab leak"""" and proceeded to tell me that it would be over $1,500 of uncovered repairs. I requested another plumber come out - they said there was no evidence of a slab leak, but extremely high pressures - they related it back to the water heater installation. I paid that plumber over $1100 to repair other issues that developed as a result of the original fault - that they never found. After speaking with my warranty company, I was advised to request a refund for the parts that were still under warranty that had to be replaced by the new plumbing company and they refused. I would not recommend them to repair plumbing to an outhouse, never the less to someone's home.
READ, it's long but please RUN from this company! Read some other reviews (linked below), this isn't a one time incident. American Home Shield contracted out to this company. My AC unit needed an evaporator coil replaced and refrigerant needed to be toped off. I was told my out of pocket cost would be $1,530!!! BestWay Mechanical claimed I had 6 things that were out of code. My house is 3 years old and my AC unit was just serviced a couple months ago and everything was perfect. Wes Robinson, the district manager, told me the builder of my home is probably on good terms with the inspector that is why it passed inspection and the company that serviced the unit most likely didn't do it correctly So I called Veterans Heating & Air who came out and NOTHING is out of code, complete lie. BestWay Mechanical was going to charge me $670 for 10 pounds of refrigerant, my unit only holds 6 and it's not even completely empty. The coil itself is covered under a manufactures warranty. They were charging me $350 for mastic sealant, google it, it's about $14 at Lowe's. I could go on and on! I showed the BestWay invoice to the other company and they couldn't believe how much they were trying to charge me for stuff that didn't even need to be done. I called several other AC companies and they all said the same thing, several told me BestWay is know for scamming people. Also, Veterans Heating & Air is charging us less than half the price...and that's not even going through AHS! Veterans heating & air actually refuses to work with AHS because they are so dishonest. So this is what happens... AHS hires the cheapest company, regardless of integrity. BestWay Mechanical compensates the low price they give AHS by charging the client with unnecessary """"modifications/code upgrades"""" that AHS won't cover. BestWay Mechanical refuses to do any work without these """"modifications/code upgrades"""" being paid for. And of course AHS keeps shoveling clients on them because it's cheap. Why not?! What a perfect scam. UPDATE: Just spoke with Wes Robinson to cancel my appointment for today and he said """"well I guess we're done talking, I have air conditioning"""" and hung up on me. Couldn't explain the bogus charges or anything, he literally just bragged about his AC working and mine not. Shari R.Ac unit went out Weds call AHS an they sent this company out Friday. The guy came in looked at the outside unit told me it was fine didnt need freon. Okay great so why no cold air? He still looked confused finally after walking back outside to look at the same piece looks at the unit part inside. Sees some dust and bingo Oh you need a new filter. Okay sure however we changed it two months ago and it blows cold for a few hrs the blows hot. He states again well it's not doing it now you just need a filter. I ask if it happens after I go get the filter will you be back today sure he says. Now new filter and we called all afternoon once it which back out no answer. So done with AHS and this company
BestWay Mechanical is by far the worst service company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is extremely poor, they are completely unprofessional in dealing with complaints and their technicians are incompetent. I've been dealing with this company through American Home Shield since April to fix my AC units, it is now August and my issue still has not been resolved and they've sent the same technician out 4 times. They never answer the phone or respond to phone messages. Then they proceeded to argue with me via text message when I had a complaint. I have NEVER experienced such disregard from a """"reputable"""" company in all my homeownership years.
From LaGrange, Ga. American Home Shield sent these guys out for the usual fee of $75. Diagnosis: Whole house clog, no clean out, gotta go on the roof, not covered, $475 dollars please. I said hell no! Called a local plumber. He found the clean out under the house. Somebody at Bestway Mechanical is about to get chewed a new cleanout.
