In November 2024, our bar sink overflowed while the shower was on upstairs. We called Gary, who sent his crew by to clear the stoppage. Less than a month later, it happened again. Gary's crew came by again but couldn't clear the stoppage. Gary said they could go into the wall and clean out the pipes for $1,600. While the price sounded steep for the scope of work described, we agreed, and Gary and his crew came by on Dec. 23, 2024 to do the work. Later that day, Gary reported that the stoppage was cleared, and he recommended a descaling and to Epoxi a crack in one of the pipes. He did not mention the sewer line. In fact, when he put a camera into the pipe, I asked if he could get a view of the sewer line, and he said the camera could not reach the sewer from our location. He did not recommend surveying the sewer. We paid the $1,600 and he and his crew left.

The next day, our downstairs toilet started gurgling and wouldn't flush. I reported it via text to Gary, who replied ""mainline is now stopped up."" While we knew not to use that toilet and did not do so, Gary did not tell us to stop running any water. When one of my kids turned on the shower upstairs, the downstairs toilet quickly overflowed, spilling sewage all over the bathroom and laundry room. I called Gary to report it. Gary immediately got defensive and started yelling at me, ""I said I'd send someone over. What do you want from me?!"" He was immediately worried that I was going to blame the sewer problem on him, ""oh so you're saying this wasn't an issue until we worked on it...""

Gary sent his crew to my house, who worked on it and said they cleared the stoppage. I asked about the cause, and Gary's associate said that they thought they had previously cleared the stoppage on 12/23/24, but ""they had really just pushed it further down the line."" They didn't charge me for that follow up visit, although they tracked (literal) crap all over our house. I spent Christmas Eve cleaning up raw sewage.

On Thursday, 12/26/24, the downstairs toilet started gurgling again and wouldn't flush. I texted Gary, upset. I told him the downstairs toilet still wasn't working, we weren't going to use him for plumbing services anymore, and I thought he should refund the $1,600 we paid him since he didn't clear the stoppage and just ""pushed it down the line,,"" didn't thoroughly inspect and test to make sure the stoppage was clear, and misdiagnosed the problem (thank god I didn't pay him $6,000 for a descaling and epoxi that would not have addressed the sewer problem). He refused the refund. When I threatened to write this yelp review, he called my cell several times and then texted ""why don't you call me instead of text."" When he called again, I answered. He immediately started yelling at me again, talking over me, and telling me my problem is that I am in denial of my sewer line issues and am trying to blame him for them. Then he called me an AH, which is when I hung up.

Don't go to Gary for your plumbing needs. He's not good at his job and just plain mean.
