I've been waiting for my """"first appointment"""" of the day since 10am this morning, called BHS @ noon to be told tech finishing up emergency call (ok I cut them some slack) 1pm I call again to be informed that they don't have the part and it will be 3 weeks before they can get it; I had to take a day off without pay and all they could say was sorry-do you want us to order the part?? They are far from the best!!!!!

I called Best Home Services because the faucet in my bathtub was dripping. After his evaluation, the serviceman told me that my problem was caused by mineral sediment in my water which was fouling the values. He needed to cut a hole in my bedroom wall to get to the valve to alleviate the problem. Further, he explained that without a whole house filtration system, the same problem would occur in my other plumbing valves. The repair and system installation would run about $7000. Being a little leery, I called a local plumber for a second opinion. $240 later my problem was solved. You can judge for yourself based on my experiences.

BHS came out to install a new water heater when the one at my grandmother's house broke. The salesman was pushy, and pressured a desperate woman to into signing a contract (on a tablet) that he did not explain or offer a copy of. He did not even bring up the """"Buyer's Right to Cancel"""" clause and he compelled her into signing up for a membership service, calling it a """"no-brainer"""" and saying that it would cost way more money if she didn't. When the technicians came out, they installed the water heater (using her ladder) and were only there for a few hours. They installed a RHEEM water heater, which retails for anywhere between $1200-2500 online (because it was discontinued in January) and charged $8,450 for it, plus $2,000 for a """"repipe and repair""""! When I called the plumbing manager, she told me $10,450 is a normal price to replace a residential water heater. She also told me that their price is based on that of the supplier, but I called the supplier she claimed they used, and they do not sell RHEEM products. The supplier also informed me that they sell comparably priced water heaters and they are used for commercial purposes, """"like hotels"""". The plumbing manager then told me it cost so much because they had to use special equipment since it is installed on a 1st floor roof, but they only used two men and somebody else's ladder. I talked to a lot of people since this happened and am finding out this is typical behavior for this company. Ironically, they claim they operate under these values: """"BHS was founded on a code of ethics based on the Golden Rule: """"Do unto others as you would want others to do unto you."""" At our core, our company is just a family who takes care of other families all across Southwest Florida's tri-county area, including Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, Ft. Myers, Naples, Estero, Marco Island, and beyond."""" This company will rip you off! They grossly over-charged a trusting woman on a fixed income and were dismissive and unsympathetic about it. As a side note: I heard from a former employee that they pay their workers on commission, which incentivizes them to over-charge. Despicable!

CAUTION: Be sure to request an estimate before having Best Home Services do any work at your home. We had a water leak at the refrigerator ice line box and called Best Home Services. The technician installed a new refrigerator box and also replaced the washing machine box as a preventative measure. Both jobs took about one hour total and the invoice was a shocker... $1,211 for the washing machine box and $672 for the refrigerator box. After researching that these jobs normally cost a few hundred dollars each, I called Best's customer service and asked if they would double-check our invoice as it seemed excessive to usual and customary charges. Best's representative said it did appear there were discrepancies with the charges and she would reach out to the plumbing manager to confirm and call me back. After several days passed without a return call, I called customer service again and was told the original charges were correct as they bill by scope of work, not hourly rates for their work. I will never call them for work again!

The Bottom line: You can get your HVAC problems fixed Quicker, more professionally, and definitely for lower cost by many other companies in south west Florida. I Gave them one star because there is no option for zero stars. My advice: stay away from this business. I had an air conditioner that stop working. It took them 4 visits using 5 different techs over one week to fix a problem In a system that they had installed 2 years before. The first tech (who arrived 1 1/2 hour late for the first appointment of the day) mainly wanted to sell me an automatically renewable maintenance contract. He said he would perform the first maintenance and the problem would be solved. He left without making sure the AC was working - it was not. When called back he misdiagnosed the problem as a leak which he could not locate """"because he did not have a dye pack"""". Next tech (manager later called him a """"new guy"""") said it was a """"massive leak"""" but the dye pack couldn't locate it. They sold me an expensive component isolation test to find the leak. The 2 techs sent to perform the test did not complete it because they found out there was no leak, the problem was a refrigerant underfeed caused by a stuck valve. They replaced the valve without giving me a price or obtaining my consent. I paid the quoted price, because they had performed the work, and I was told that this was an expensive part to replace. The invoice/receipt they sent me did not actually say that they had replaced the valve, it just said component isolation test. Talking to other area HVAC service companies I found out that the price I had paid was 3-4 times what other businesses charged. I was also told by a tech from a different company that the stuck valve should have been easy to diagnose and fix. I called the company to discuss this situation: misdiagnosis, multiple trips, waste of my time, comparatively high cost, etc. They were willing to give me a small refund - provided I signed a paper saying I was satisfied and would agree not to give them negative reviews in writing or orally. I refused to sign. Such deals are probably why they have higher ratings than they deserve. I also canceled the maintenance service contract (in writing within 30 days as was stipulated in the contract), but I still have not received a refund of the refundable portion of the charge (they keep $50 dollars as a transaction fee in any event). Please learn from my mistake and go elsewhere for service.

Think twice before using Best Home Services! On July 18th I paid $374 for a problem with our central air and on August 19th they returned to fix the same problem and I had to pay another $278. Work is warrantied for 30 days and I was 1 day over. The fact that I texted with their technician on August 11, 12 and 18 did not count. They refused to make any adjustment. As a business owner before retirement, not a position I would have taken for a customer of over 3 years. Abbott Davis - Naples Reserve

I purchased a new home air conditioning system from Best Home Services. The install team apparently did not appropriately complete the proper electrical process. They sent an electrician to inspect and he told me (also in writing) that I needed a new fuse and wire to the new unit. I called to get the work done and the customer service team (Tammy, then Drew) told me I did not need the wiring despite not seeing my house. I found Tammy inappropriately pointing the finger to another department within her company. I asked to speak to the manager Drew who told me he would come over to see my house, then was no where to be found and did not return my daily calls. His manager Phil had someone change the fuse, but no additional work was completed. The only person to actually see my house was the electrician who suggested additional work. The customer service is poor at Best Home Services, and the phone tree was awful to actually get a real person. I can't imagine doing business with them in the future - for those reading this review, call someone else. Randy M.

HORRIBLE! They put in a new AC unit over 6k and 16 months later unit wasn't working properly and said the repair would be 2,400 - so we quickly called a more reliable compan. Please avoid Best for your sake and your wallets sake! Expensive lesson learned on our part.

Do not use this company! I've spend $20K with them and had them out to my house over a dozen times to fix the new units that they just installed. Every tech that comes out says that the previous guy screwed up. Was quoted $10K today to fix what they just installed because it was not done properly.

Kitchen faucet was leaking and going into the unit below us. Plumber came and spent about 15 minutes to wrongfully diagnose that the problem was a loose part on the faucet. Thinking the problem was fixed we used the faucet and quickly flooded our downstairs neighbor again. Will never use this company ever again. On top of everything we were charged $128.
