called Best Home Services for help with my garbage disposal. Live alone so I was a target. With no knowledge of electrics I was duped ...my serviceman said I would need a new Panel and quoted a price of 4,000 but murmured that it could go as high as 5,000 or 6,000 depending ..that is if he could talk his boss into it. I did not take the bait and have a new panel installed today by a licensed electrician who assessed my needs and all for a little over 1,ooo ...quite a difference from the above cited quotes. The gentleman was courteous, knowledgeable and told me what I did not need. Got everything up to par and I am grateful. Do not dare call this company up who, by the by, does not have hard copy receipts but you, if you do not have a printer, must go to the library and print out your own? How's that for customer disservice. So save your breath and your money on this company I rate this company as 0

I should always check Yelp before I hire any business... lesson learned. Billy came out to fix my toilet which wasn't flushing. He said he would have to """"rebuild the toilet"""" and he didn't know if he had the parts because my brand of toilet was """"terrible"""". He proceeded to tell me all the different things that were wrong with my house and what I should do about them. Couldn't intelligently explain why I had these problems he identified. Then, he tells me it's going to cost $290. I said how did you arrive at that price and he couldn't answer me so I said I would speak to his office in the morning . He called his manager (I guess that's who it was), he spoke to him for a minute or 2 then I took the phone and I asked """"how do you arrive at that price."""" He said it was a flat rate???? Then he asked if Billy told me the price before he did the work and I said no! So apparently Billy told the guy on the phone he did tell me; so he lied.

Unprofessional Management. Techs/Admins/HR come and go too often. Naples location is far more experienced than Sarasota.

Dishonest or incompetent?.......you decide. When reading keep in mind that Best Home Services technicians are paid on commission. Came to unclog a drain, charged me extra to do a """"clean out"""" instead of just clearing the blockage ($283 v. $129). Tried to sell me Bio 1 service which consists of pouring a fluid in the pipes to clear organic material for $110 extra. I declined this because the pipes from the kitchen were less than 6 months old and were not blocked. Charged me an extra $100 to put a camera down the lines to diagnose the problem. When the tech came to put the camera down the lines he told me the camera service was free when done in conjunction with another service. Told me there were 2 traps in the line and that was what was causing the clog. Gave me an estimate of over $5,000 to correct the problem. As much of the plumbing had been replaced by a licensed plumber in 2019 (fully permitted and inspected) I did not trust their diagnosis and estimate. Had another plumbing company come out. They cleaned some rust blockage out of the cast iron drain pipe, fixed a small problem in the upstairs bath and ran a camera down the line. Problem solved for $770. They showed me that there was NOT 2 traps in the line and that the work that Best Home Services had charged for had not been done. Further, the $5,000 repair recommended was unnecessary. Finally, I informed Best Home Services of my experience and dissatisfaction on April 30 and provided them a copy of the invoice from the company that properly fixed the problem. They apologized and promised to get back to me in 24 - 48 hours. It has been 2 weeks and no contact from Best Home Services. Called the credit card company today and canceled the $442 charge from Best Home Services. Never again! UPDATE 5/14/2020 After posting my review, Best Home Services sent me a document via DocuSign stating that they would refund the charges if I would agree not to post any derogatory reviews. They followed up with a phone call admitting """"ownership and responsibility"""" encouraging me to sign their agreement. By the way, the agreement was standard boilerplate which leads me to believe that they have to use this agreement frequently to reduce the negative reviews on their business practices. Informed them that I had already canceled the charge with my credit card company and was confident that based upon the facts, I would prevail in getting my money back. Beware

Our experience. Best Home Services installed a new A/C unit. This unit could not bring the temp down below 74 degrees. At that temp, it ran constantly. We were told the duct work was old and needed to be replaced at the time of the unit install. It was quoted at over 8k to replace. Did not have it done due to cost. Sometime later, as it still did not perform correctly, it was stated again, new duct work, it is too old. That would mean they most definitely knew it would not work right but did the A/C install anyway. I was asked if he could get up there, as they did not see it at the time of the initial quote. Really? And then the cost was substantially reduced....by thousands. From that, I assume a complete, professional evaluation of the situation was not performed from the beginning. Since nothing changed physically in the home, why the drop of so much? We also had an issue with the float switch turning off the A/C unit. The fix? To rotate the switch and tape it in place so it was above the water level in the pan. In turn, this caused an overflow that got under our newly installed floor, and it is now buckling due to the moisture. And today, thermostat says humidification always on idle. I called many times and asked to be walked through the menu, as maybe there was an option not set up. A manager called me back (twice), told me a tech would call to assist. A tech did indeed call. He was not familiar with my unit, would not walk me through the menu, and I was told that it is most likely permanently set on 55% and that is what modern units do now. Then I was given a brief on how beneficial this humidity level to people and the house itself, so I should leave it there. Concerning the settings, I found this may not be true, according to the Honeywell install and user manuals. When I called back, I was told by the manager that a tech did call (he did), and that was what they were going to do with this issue until I can let them inside. I am not counting that call as a """"resolution call"""". No advice was offered other than another service call. The manager that followed up the call also could not find my model, as it would mean she had to """"Look all the way back"""" I do not even understand that comment in this computer age. I was supposed to use my phone, take a picture of it, and email it to her. They did the install, they should know. Everyone in the chain from the initial phone call to this part, kept pushing for a tech to make a service call, and at this time, that is not possible. Our house is sanitized, and no one comes in. Their precautions are just, but not perfect, and I cannot afford an """"Oh, sorry about that."""" I will not take a chance with what I have experienced so far with Best Home Services. I can manage a thermostat, and the settings are correct as far as Honeywell is concerned, but I may have missed something. I looked for professional help with Best Home Services, as they did the install, but did not receive anything worthwhile in that sense. If I have made any inaccurate assumptions or incorrectly stated anything whatsoever, I will withdraw this complaint. Photos, documentation, and witnesses point to the legitimacy of it.

UPDATE: 2/21/2020. After BEST HOME SERVICES saw my review they contacted me,and offered a refund for the work that other company did. I agreed, and they said the would contact me. They have yet to get back, and keep the promise of a refund. I've emailed twice,no response. If the situation changes I will happily update. Until then, I'm frustrated with the company and their business practices . Disappointed. UPDATE:4/20/2020. Contacted BEST HOME SERVICES again... they ask to set-up a time to talk on the phone today, I said between 8am-11am. They never called. I don't feel they ever intended to try to work this issue out. Bewa UPDATE: 4/22/2020. I'm am happy to say Best Home Services and I have agreed on a mutual settlement on this matter. Thank you for that

I had a problem with my bathtub faucet. It turned on but would not shut off. I finally got it down to a slow trickle of water but I needed a plumber to fix it. Unfortunately it was at 6:00 on a Friday night. I called Best Home Services because of their Yellow Pages Ad. BIG MISTAKE. It took the """"technician"""" over 4 hours to get here, arriving at 10:15 p.m. Although the company sent a photo of him, there was no bio attached. Anyway, he took one look at the faucet and said he would need to cut hole in the wall and replace all the pipes and cover the hole with plastic or send a drywall guy to repair the hole at and additional charge ( a 4 to 6 hour job) a OR he could attempt to just change the cartridge ( a 3 to 4 hour job); neither of which would be done until some time the next day. The charge for the replacement of the pipes was $1269.00 and the charge for just replacing the cartridge was $361.00. I refused both and paid him his $19 and sent him away. I was uncomfortable having him in my home at that time of night anyway and I had my finger on the """"send"""" button of my cell phone the whole time he was here. My son came into town the next day and took a look at the faucet. He purchased a new cartridge at Home Depot for $49, installed it and the faucet works fine now. It only took him less than an hour including the trip to the store. This company is the worst I have ever encountered. They are scammers and pray on unsuspecting people, especially women.DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING.

I had an issue with my water soften system. It was the original unit and it could not be repaired only replaced. I was told I would need a Plummer to come in and redirect the line back to my home. Steve Erwin came out and did a great job of removing my water softener system and redirecting the water line to my house. He was professional and provided quality work. I will definitely use Best Home Services again for my plumbing needs to my house.

Stay away predatory practices in full bloom. Dec 23 none of our drains were working so a call to Best was made. First truck showed up and agreed the drain was blocked so a 2nd truck was sent. The 2nd truck tried to unclog drain with water jet to no avail. Next camera which showed blockage now the fun part I was quoted a price of $2900 to dig and replace a section of 4' drain pipe. We were screwed it had to be done. A little while later the boss came in and told me an additional $1000 we needed to replace some pipe the hole was opened and we were screwed again to replace a 3' sec of 4"""" drain was a total of $4000. When they know they have you bend over here it comes. Stay away if you value your money..

I had 2 plumbing issues, I called Best Home Services because of an advertisement coupon in the local paper: $19 service fee plus any repairs that were completed. The customer service person said the technician would arrive in a vehicle with company logo. She scheduled a plumber to come the same day no emergency charge. Next I got a call from their dispatcher identifying a time window for arrival, then an update call from the office with an ETA of 3-6 PM. A short time after 4:30 a text arrived with a picture of the technician. I got a call from the technician, Rob within 5 minutes of the text. Rob was on his way, he would be there within a half hour. When he arrived, he put on cloth booties, was professional, in uniform and prompt. He surveyed the situation, ran water in the affected areas, water was gurgling and backing up in the shower. He then recommended a scope / camera view of the line (that would be a different technician and he would come the following morning. I was OK with that. Next I mentioned the 2nd issue under the kitchen sink. Rob looked, quoted a price and jumped right in. He finished in 40 minutes. This will be my plumbing vendor when I need any help in the future.
