2 months after Ian, I had them come out and check my AC system. They said there was nothing wrong with the system and it didn't need anything. They found there was some water in the air ducts, and gave me a a verbal estimate to dry them out and replace the main supply and return air duct for $4,000. I never received this formal quote, however did receive an $800 service call bill. I found another firm that dryer out and cleaned the house ducts the very next day for $1,000. We hire Best to replace the 14"""" supply and return air duct, about 8' of duct work for $1,800. When I arrived at the home in January, we found that they had not refastened the outside air handler to the concrete pad. When they came out they did not even apologize for there over site, but attended to up-sell an additional item for the unit.

BHS installed a water heater at my grandmother's house when hers broke. The salesman came out on Wednesday, and pressured my cousin to sign up for a membership with passive threats of higher costs and gaslighting using phrases like """"it's a no-brainer"""". He ill-explained the contract, which she signed on a tablet, and did not mention the Buyer's Right to Cancel clause, which was never signed. The membership charge is $200/year, with a """"special member pricing"""" discount of $100 and an enrollment fee of $50. She was told she needed to sign up for the membership or she would have to pay a lot more. The technicians came on Friday and installed a Rheem MHD75245, which was discontinued in January. The two men carried the heater up a ladder that we already had in place to put it in a closet on the first floor roof over a patio. They took the closet door off, cut about 1/2 inch off the jamb, and glued together PVC pipes for the install. They did not used any special equipment or do any special work (i.e. using threaded barbs with soldered connections, copper piping, etc.). They did not repair the jamb and did not even reinstall the door on its hinges properly. A few hours after they left, the water was still not hot so my cousin called them back and they said they would come next week to fix it. I learned about this on the following Monday (after business hours) and when my cousin told me the cost I was shocked. My cousin did not have an invoice, contract, or any other paperwork to explain the charges so I got in contact with BHS on Tuesday and requested it. Among the paperwork they sent was the purchase invoice from the supplier that showed BHS paid $1692 for the heater. They had attempted to redact it, but did a poor job. BHS charged my cousin $8450 for the heater, $2000 for the labor, and $150 for the membership. I spoke to their plumbing manager about the 400% markup and she told me it was a fair price and without the membership, she would have been charged over $9000. She also told me the $2000 charge was because they had to rent special equipment and reframe the door. The technicians did not bring any special equipment; they showed up in a regular work van and used our ladder. They mad a sloppy cut in the doorjamb and did nothing to repair or """"reframe"""" it. I accused BHS of grossly over-charging and asked for a refund of $6000 from the $10,450 they charged. The remaining amount would still be a high price for installing a residential water heater. I was told they would not return any money and did not care about the financial hardship they created for my cousin; they always charge these prices and I should be grateful they came out so quickly. After several weeks, the company had a Customer Experience Coordinator reach out and ask how we can resolve this issue. I repeated that I would like a refund and explained the 400% markup on parts and $2000 charged for labor. Every time I refuted the explanation BHS gave for the labor charge, they came up with a new one. First, they said they had to do a re-pipe, then it was because they had to rent special equipment, then it was because they had to remove and reframe the door, and finally, they said it was because carrying up the ladder was hard. The coordinator offered me $1000 initially, then eventually came back with a contract offering $2000. The contract stated that the offer """"is in no way an admission of liability"""" and that, by signing, I will consider the issue fully resolved and retract all the detrimental reviews and refrain from authoring any more against the company. How could I accept such an offer? That would still mean we paid over $8000 for a $1700 water heater and we can't say we are not happy about it. I wonder if the reason this company has such good ratings is because they pay people to remove the bad reviews. Buyers beware.

Called and hired a plumber. Charged us $1098 to pressure was one pipe with our water. Then told us we have a pipe that will break in a week or two and quoted us $8500 to fix it, not including having to get through asphalt. Called the county and they said the pipe isn't about to break and is fine. Even the county was shocked about the fact that we paid that much for a service that normally costs half. Thanks Best Home Services, you fooled us!

Run, do not walk, away from this company. It appears techs are on commission and always seem to find more things that you """"need"""" to have them install. We finally figured out that we were getting over-charged and underserviced. I could go into a long description of everything they did wrong, but suffice it to say that after spending thousands of dollars with them, we came to the realization that we had been taken in by their techs' always oh so friendly demeanor and promises to make sure we were taken care of. We were taken care of, alright. Never again.

I will never do business with best services again!! They are the worst company i have ever dealt with! A free maintenance call ended up costing me $89.00 plus a further quote of $700.00 to replace my a/c blower motor which they said had failed! They also tried to get me to pay an additional $69.00 per month for something called a """"family plan"""" which was simply a ploy to try and extract more money from me! I contacted another a/c company who said they would replace the fan motor for a cost of $350.00 which I agreed to, but, after replacing the motor the a/c system still did not work. The actual problem was a failed transformer unit and not the fan motor. Best Services completely missed the real problem and I had to fight like hell to get them to repay me the $89.00 charge! I recommend to other people to stay clear of Best Services and deal only with reputable a/c companies!! John B.

Here's what I've learned about Best Home Services. They play a psychological mind game with you. First, they come in as your BEST friend. Then, when they have you in their hands they wow you with their knowledge and ability to get the job done quickly. The cost seems a little high, but you are in a dire situation so you fall for it. Granted, you feel confident that the everything will be taken care of to the utmost level. Finally, you realize...wait a minute??? When you try to talk to them they make you wonder why you were so foolish as to accept their offer. It's all YOUR fault ~ you silly girl. Personally I've experienced being charged $1200 to fill out a credit card application and was told that was the only option for credit. My $8800 TOTAL priced air conditioner turned into $12,000! Hey, wait a minute.....When I called about it I was told """"You signed it!"""" Well, yes I did, you silly girl! Fool me once, shame on me. Then I was in need of a ceiling fan installation in a room that was not pre-wired. I have company coming and the room is extremely hot. I was told an access door would have to be created in the closet, 2x4s installed in the crawl space to brace the fan, wiring, etc. The first estimate was for $2400, we got it down to $2000 and I agreed because I really needed that fan installed. The electricians came, and simply installed it by cutting a hole in the wall & ceiling. My refund....if I ever get it....is $466. My response when I called to question the refund was, """"Why did you agree?"""" Well, good question! Then I was told $1500 is the average cost of putting in a ceiling fan??? Yes, I am their fool. Fool me twice, shame on YOU!

Quote to fix or replace my AC system was double of all others. Rep knew next to nothing. No interest in fixing it quoted only new purchase. Makes sense because he never looked to see what the problem might be. """"Thank you for coming. Now get off my property"""".

I do not recommend using this company for anything. Price gouging and very poor customer service. I needed a hot water heater exchanged and was charged $1500 with $1200 of that for generic water heater sold at Walmart for $600. My tenant made the arrangement so I did not agree to the price but the bill was paid by the tenant so I have to reimburse them. Called to complain to deaf ears and was basically told that's too bad. I asked if the plumbing director thought the price was fair and he stated yes and that he set the price. I learned my lesson with these people and I hope you will take this advice and find someone else to handle your plumbing etc issues.

Toilet Flush and Fill device ($50) replaced for $502 Charge! Kohler Toilet needed Fill valve and Flush device replaced. Kohler parts were roughly $50 retail cost. Replacement charge was $502! I would have been surprised at $302, shocked at $402, but economic plumbing irresponsible pricing at $502. Company is truly taking advantage of the Florida public!

My husband and I are real estate investors in South West Florida. Less than 2 years ago Best Home Services installed an HCAV system and Hot Water heater in our property. The AC system failed, which then leaked over and caused the Hot Water heater to fail, dumping 50+ gallons of water in our house. It took several efforts to receive a copy of the paperwork (3+ calls in), and several attempts to speak with anyone other than a technician or dispatch center. When we did speak with a supervisor, Adam - He claimed that the HVAC tech said we had someone cut the line...We DID NOT! When confronted on this, there was no accountability and he avoided the topic. Naturally, one would assume that since a hot water heater should last at LEAST 10 years and the cause of damage was the HVAC installation, both of which are under warranty and done by Best Home Services, that the company you trusted with your home would follow through. This is not the case. Wrong. We are now looking at a 2k+ bill for water restoration and mold removal with ZERO accountability from Best Home Services. Not only are they not taking ownership over their faulty installation, but they have been giving us the run around for over a week, sometimes claiming they will replace everything free of charge to include the water restoration, and then going back on that just a few hours later. Different stories from different people, having to chase down our warranty information for days on end. Best Home Services should consider changing their name to something more reflective of their quality of work. If you're looking to flush thousands of dollars down the drain with a side of mold and water damage in your home and a water heater that lasts 1/5th of the time it's supposed to- Best Home Services is the way to go! As for my husband and I, we will avoid them like the plague and ensure we advise all other homeowners and real estate investors in the area to do the same.
