Barbara P.These guys are my saving grace! My dads water heater blew up and he was getting quotes for ridiculous amounts. I got a tankless water heater for what they were quoting him on the replacement. Granted I'm in Arizona but I know it's not even close to what he was telling me. He is elderly and I always worry someone is going to try some scam or rip him off. I called around and tt Gus over here. They came out and got my dad situated... even followed up with me. I'm 2k miles away and these guys were straight up and got it done the right way. Seriously made our day and my dad couldn't be happier. Best home for the W!
Chad A.These guys are legit... reliable and no BS! My grandma is selling her condo and in the inspection they had a scope and found out there was roots in her main line. They also supposedly wanted all the pipes updated. I called BS. She had two companies come out and was getting crazy expensive quotes. I could tell she was so stressed. I am in AZ and called these guys and gave them the run down. They came out, did her right and got her up to code and fixed the root issue. The plumber replaced the plastic pipe or whatever and made everything right for less than half of two quotes! There was no need to replace all the plumbing and it was just one issue and the root thing. Honest & professional...they sent pics and I am seriously thankful.
Rob B.I called on a Wednesday asking for service for Thursday afternoon. I got an email stating the person was on their way, they never showed up. They showed up the next morning while I was at work. I told him I was at work and it needs to be in the afternoon for an appointment, so he put me on the schedule for Friday evening between 4-8. The guy came out and looked at my leaking toilet and his findings were """"Master bath toilet is leaking from tank bolts and flush gasket. Missing nut on one side and is being held in place with vice grips. He gave me 5 options to choose from. All of them were crazy amounts of money. Talk about a rip off. Here it is: Option 1: new comfort height premium toilet install $910 Option 2: New deluxe 12"""" elongated toilet $797 Option 3: Pull my toilet and reset major tank rebuild $635 Option 4: major tank rebuilt, meaning replacing all parts $362 I have no idea why these prices are so outrageous. Plumbing parts are cheap. I fixed my problem with a single piece premium comfort height toilet for $200, that was toilet, tank parts and wax ring underneath, Even at $75 an hour for labor during normal business hours comes out under $300. What is the other $600 going for on option 1. The major tank rebuild, all the parts are under $40 total and under an hour's worth of work for an experience plumber. Totally outrageous. If you want to get taken for a ride, I'm sure they will take you for a ride. A definite never again experience. If you decide you want to use these individuals for your issues, please ask for an itemized list of expenses.
Lisa B.So expensive!! At first I was so happy to hear they only had a $20 service call fee. The first time I called we didn't need to order any parts so $20 (plus I tipped) and no big deal. This time they came out to fix our garbage disposal and I couldn't believe the costs. Unfortunately my husband wasn't comfortable enough to say """"no thanks we'll go somewhere else"""". Why we spent $600 on a $100 disposal, I have NO IDEA!! The work took all of 30 minutes so I can't imagine they have a 1,000/hour labor fee. I'm very disappointed. I figured these guys were smart to rely on repeat business but I will definitely not be calling again. If they want to contact me to give me $400 back, maybe. We shall see.
After purchasing a service contract for AC, plumbing and electric, each of the first three visits resulted in constant pressure to purchase, repair and/or upgrade when there was not a need. Understood, technicians are encouraged to sell. However, when there was an AC problem in December of 2016, the tech REFUSED to attempt a repair on a Friday - UNLESS I AGREED TO PURCHASE A NEW SYSTEM - leaving me without any AC until the following Monday. When I begged for a temporary fix until the next week (wife was hosting a Christmas party the next day), Chris (the tech) handed me three estimates: $6400, $7400 & $10000. I stated that I understood I needed a new system but I needed air for the weekend. He simply said he would NOT do a thing until I agreed. I ordered him to leave my property. At that point, though I had 3 services remaining, I decided to not renew the service. A new TRANE AC system was installed by Speedy Air for $5800. Two remaining AC service was rendered by Best Home and each tech claimed that my NEW system was stricken with black mold. After a test, what was claimed to be black mold on the AC blower was dirt. This company is dishonest, its AC techs are simply snakes.
King of the Up-sell. I have to preface my review that I am a professional Construction Manager working on significant size projects, so I am not one to be easily fooled by unnecessary services. I had Best install a new AC unit a few years back. They were reasonably priced and offered a good warranty. During a regular maintenance servicing, the technician tried to sell nearly $1000 of services. Some simple research showed that the items they recommend cost about $200, and basic knowledge of how things work, would indicate about 2 hours of labor to install. I brushed off these recommendations and performed a few of them myself. I am all about earning a buck, but charging double to triple is unacceptable. I called them again to look at a pool heat pump. Was quoted $19 for the technician to perform the diagnosis. While the technician was friendly, and showed up early (for a same day appointment), the up-selling continued. To start, the technician said the diagnostic was $99, not the $19 the office quoted and advertised on billboards, online, etc. Was told my credit card was declined, though I used it half an hour prior and later that day and had no issue. Had to pay the tech in cash. Also called my bank to verify the charge, and they had no record of the attempted transaction. The technician recommended a new heat pump. The old one was 14 years old, so I was inclined to concur, and the symptoms described seemed inline that it wasn't worth repairing. Asked for a quote. The quote was obviously high, and made one phone call to another company for a comparison. The other company quoted a cost that was $100 less than half of Best's quote, for a larger heater. Was also quoted a price to top off the refrigerant as a band aid approach. Looked up the cost of a tank of R22, and to use 5lbs of a 25lb can, the quote was twice the price of the can. Again, I am all for companies making a profit, but to double or triple the cost of product (especially high value items) and then charge an absurd amount for the labor, this company, or at least tech, are worried only about their commissions. I will not be using Best again for anything beyond a warranty repair, but I am sure they will find a way to charge for that as well. BUYER BEWARE
Had a brand new A/C unit installed and complete duct replacement in May of 2018. First of all the sales man told us all these things they would do but never put them in the contract. He talked a great game but it is my fault for not inspecting the contract carefully enough. When I asked him about it his response was """"I never said that"""". The guys who did the installation were great and very helpful, however a little over a month later my unit stopped working. Best homes returned and charged me another $700 to get it running again, bringing my bill to over $8,000. Now it's December of 2018 and my unit has stopped working again.
We had a Best Home Services A/C maintenance tech do a full maintenance on our 19 month old 4 ton Best Series air conditioner on November 11, 2018. He said our 17"""" UV bulb needed replacing. When I asked how much he said $279.00. When I replied I din't want it, he said I should really replace it to keep mold away... and then he said """"What does the price have to be for you to buy it?"""" I said """"What? I didn't know the price was negotiable."""" He replied """"Everything is negotiable. I negotiate with customers all day every day."""" Then he said """"I can let you have it for $243.00."""" Naturally I declined. Needless to say we will never do business with this company gain.
Follow up to my prior posting. Heard from the new Electrical Manager after Generec contacted them. He said he will look into the failure on their part to perform the contracted service. As an attempt to make up for their failures he is adding another year of free yearly service. A step in the right direction.
Buyer beware, overpriced. I had a quote that was 3 times higher than other local companies. The service person was rude, got violent when I ask him to leave that the price was too high. I wouldn't let them walk into my home ever again.
