I called Michael for an estimate to remove an old bathtub and install a new one. We set up the appointment for a Sunday evening (I was hesitant to do this because it was a Sunday, but he said he had a job going on that day and could stop by afterward, so I went ahead and scheduled) between 4 and 6 pm. Because I was busy all day Saturday (demo...ugh), I had forgotten what time was agreed upon and couldn't find the paper on which I jotted our time. I called Michael Saturday and left him a message asking to confirm our appointment. He never returned my call. This was my first red flag. I found my ""note to self"" telling me when our meeting was and wasn't too worried about the missed call because I knew when to expect him.

Sunday afternoon at 3:15, I texted Michael asking if we were still on for 4 - 6. An hour later, and 15 minutes into our appointment window, he replied to my text with an apology, saying he couldn't make it because he was still on another job. I said I understood and and asked him what day would work for him to reschedule. He said Wednesday or Thursday. I said late Wednesday or any time Thursday. He opted for Wednesday, 5p-7p and I agreed, but later on, he asked if he could come earlier, between 8 and noon. 8am was too early for me, so he said between 9 and 10 am. I didn't really want to take this time slot as I work 12 hour (+/-) shifts overnight but really wanted the estimate, so I said yes. He confirmed and said he would text me when he was on his way.

Well, it's now 11:55 and I've heard nothing from him, so I consider this a no call/no show.

Maybe my job was too small and insignificant. Maybe he is just way too busy. Maybe he had some sort of personal emergency. Maybe he was abducted by aliens. Maybe he was kidnapped by gypsies. Maybe he fell into a black hole. But for me, the Best Defense is a good offense, and I have contacted other companies for my estimate and job.

I kinda figure if Michael cannot be bothered to call, text, send a carrier pigeon, use smoke signals, use a megaphone, send a morse code, use drumbeats, yodel, skywrite, or how about just show up? for an estimate, I should be very suspicious of the job he would have done for me.

Maybe I dodged a bullet. Maybe he just had a bad day. He probably does fantastic work, but alas, I will never know because obviously his time was more important than mine and I never had the pleasure of meeting him and hiring him

I so appreciate the way Michael responded to my call. He came to my home in a timely manner. After giving me a quote, the job was completed right away. This was not an emergency so he could have easily put me off for awhile, like a couple of other companies did. He did a fantastic job.

Mike was great. He texts, he always responds right away, he tells you when hes coming and going, hes quick and knowledgeable. We lost our hot water on a Saturday night and it would have been fixed by Sunday morning if it hadn't been under warranty... Ironic... But he was still able to get us in a hot shower by Monday at noon. Great work!

We discovered that we had a leak from our upstairs drains coming form the two bathrooms upstairs. Baker aka Mike, from Best Defense Plumbing, is our neighbor, so we asked him to come over and take a look at it. After figuring out what the cause was, Baker came over this morning and fixed the problem and did a fantastic job. We have another plumbing job for Baker, and he will be coming back to take care of any plumbing needs in the future.

Totally agree with all the other reviewers who gave this business five stars. Main problem was an outside water pipe with a leak. Mike showed up when he said he would and fixed it. I had a few other jobs that were in the maintenance and replacement category, and Mike took care of those too. Very friendly guy, professional work and fair price. Will be calling him for all my plumbing needs.

It's hard to describe the helpless feeling when one of your pipes breaks at home. I'd like to think that I can handle most things myself. Michael was a pleasure to deal with from the beginning. He answered his phone on a Sunday and arrived the next day on-time. The work was completed quickly and properly and he left the place cleaner than he found it. If you're looking for a plumber, look no further.

I looked up best plumber reviews on yelp and Michael had 5 star rating from all clients. I called and set up an appointment to fix a faulty faucet in our guest shower. He asked me to take a photo and send. He had the parts and arrived as scheduled with part in hand. Fixed and tested it in a quick and professional way. It looks like I have found a plumber "" keeper"" for many years to come.
