I was very disappointed with how long it took this company to finish the job. In September, they installed a new furnace, AC unit and water heater. It was not until November 4, after countless visits from their technicians, that I had a functioning furnace. Despite the fact that temperatures dipped down to 35 degrees one weekend, they didn't show any urgency to get the job done. I will say that everyone I dealt with was professional and polite, and appeared to want to help. It seemed that there was a lack of communication between technicians and office staff, and also perhaps a lack of follow up or proactive approach from individuals, which resulted in progress getting stalled frequently. I don't think the furnace would be working now if I hadn't continued to call the office to check up on different parts of the job to make sure they were completed.

Best Care is the company my home warranty company sent for the problem I had with my HVAC so I had no choice in the matter. I had a drip pan full of water under my unit when I opened the call at 8am Thursday morning. My warranty states that they have 48 hours to respond which Best Care took advantage of. I wasn't able to get an appointment until the following Saturday. Up until that time I drained the pan and did research to figure out the probable cause. I did a few things as suggested in the research and kept draining the pan as it kept filling up. When the tech arrived the pan was bone dry, of course! The technician arrived after 11:30 which was more than 48 hours after the call was opened - therefore not meeting the contractual agreement. He couldn't find anything wrong but ordered a safety cutoff switch that he said would be covered by the warranty. I received an invoice for $195 stating ""Only responsible for 75.00 service fee"" with the balance of it to be paid by my home warranty company.

On Wednesday the following week I had heard nothing from either the warranty company or Best Care. I called Best Care and explained my situation and wanted to know when to expect the part to be installed. I was told that since there was no mechanical problem the part had not been ordered because it is not something that is covered by the warranty. So, essentially I paid $75 to them for showing up late. No call back to explain that what the tech explained and billed me for was wrong.

American Home Warranty sent them out to check on a pipe leak. Charged me $65 (service charge) and quoted me $3800 to fix leak. I called another company and they came out and repaired the pipe for $300. What's up with that?

We have never been happier with an HVAC company as we've been with Best Care Home Services. My husband and I have used a lot of HVAC companies in different cities and for various different rental properties, and have always been amazed at the level of service, professionalism, and fair pricing at Best Care. The technicians are always professional and on time, and the pricing always seems to be lower than I expect it will be. One time there was a misunderstanding about what they were supposed to repair (my husband had talked to them but they came over when he wasn't there, so they accidentally fixed the wrong thing) and they immediately came and make it right - doing more than they had to for the same price. They definitely go above and beyond to keep their customers happy and we're so glad we found them!

Overcharge at a criminal level.

One of our water heaters is beginning to leak. Fortunately, we have home owner's insurance that will cover a new unit and installation. Unfortunately, they use Best Care who in turn claimed that they MUST do certain things that aren't covered. These extras total $710. Oddly, a coworker of mine used Best Care two months ago to replace his, and they did not sing the same tune. He bought his out of pocket through Home Depot. I am sure that this had something to do with it. Where I was told that they could not use any of the installed plumbing (sight unseen), they made use of all of his without batting an eyelash. (Btw, my home was built in 2003, his was built in '69.)

These extra ""mandatory"" services:
Gas line mods: $150
Water line mods: $100
TP Mods, which consist of a few feet pvc: $95
Drain Pan: $100!!! ($20 at Lowe's)
Disposal: $105 (won't allow you to do)
Permit: $115. (The permit actually costs $15! When called out on the rather substantial markup, they unapologetically stated, ""we have to make money."")

The so-called mods are not only unnecessary, they are WAY overpriced. They would not allow me to waive any of the ""services"", nor supply any of the parts myself.

Because you must work through the insurance company and as a result have very little leverage, they attempt to capitalize - obscenely. Instead of being abused, I opted to accept a much reduced cash payment from the insurance company and will purchase on my own. Sadly, I will still fare much, much better. Instead of getting a builder's grade unit and paying $710 for accessories, I am paying for a high-grade unit and installation for a total of $420 out-of-pocket.

I am not certain what is worse about this company, their overcharging, or how unabashed they are in doing so.

Bottom line: An unethical company.

Horrible horrible horrible. Similar to another review on here ....this co. was sent out by home warranty. They immediately said it was evaporator coil but did not even check the outside unit. Of course they did not have the part had to be ordered. They immediately try to just start selling me a whole new unit. Threatened that it would take weeks to months to get this fixed through the home warranty. Tried to coach me on taking a cash out. It only took that long because it took them almost a week to get the order in...then the home warranty had it shipped to the supply store in town and they refused to go get it so they had to re-ship it directly to their shop. Another week again the delay all due to them then when they finally scheduled it to fix it they came out and said it was the wrong part. I had Freon added to the machine to keep the air running ...miraculously the same day they were there to ""fix it "" but had the wrong part it quit working because they drained all the freon out and lied and said they did not....if it leaked out on its own it would have started freazing the pipe just like before.....In the meantime I had a REAL heat/air contractor evaluate my air-conditioning system they discovered there was a leak outside also. Contacted the warranty co again and they sent out the same horrible people....the young guy they sent was the same one that came the very first time and never even looked at the outside unit. It was obvious he had just gotten in trouble he was furious when he got here he went out and started yanking the equipment off of the AC yanking wires out of the unit....I videotaped the entire thing if they want to dispute this. He finally confirmed that there was also a leak out there. Took them another 4 to 5 days to get this reported. Once they finally got the report I did ask for a cash out from the home warranty company and bought a whole new system with the REAL contractor (Infinity heat and air) that I mentioned earlier...... Run as far away from this company as you can even if you're home warranty tries to send them... BEG for a different contractor!!!

Just had one of the best home visits by a technician in a long time. HVAC Senior Technician Michael Martin arrived on time, quickly assessed the problem and promptly fixed it... in that order. My capacitor was burned out and he had to replace the motor. He didn't dawdle or waste time. His laser-like focus and integrity really impressed me. And my house is already cooling off! Thank you, Michael! I would certainly recommend Best Care Home Services for your HVAC needs.
