First, let me start by saying that we used Bertoli several times years back. Spent several thousand dollars on multiple jobs. While they were a bit more expensive than most at that time, the work was great and the guys they had working for them then were super nice and super helpful.

Last week I decided to call them to come fix a few small things in the house. Leaky basement sink, dripping tub faucet, hardware washer needed... I was quoted $165 an hour + parts to FIX the issues. I made the appointment and 2 plumbers showed up on time. They started with the basement sink and quickly determined that it wasn't a leaky pipe, it was the sink that was leaking. It was old and needed to be replaced. While in the basement he put a washer on the pipe which took about 2 minutes. Then we moved on to the bathroom to fix the tub faucet. He quickly determined there that he didn't have the part to fix it and that we would have to find the part and have it ready for a future vi$it.

Then that was it. 40 minutes and they were ready to get their $165. He told me he was going to get an estimate over to me for a new sink. Here's where I made a mistake. I paid them instead of questioning the charges for fixing essentially NOTHING. Anyway, I gave him the check and they sat in my driveway for 20 minutes ""writing the estimate."" After 24 hours the estimate never came so I had to call and request it. It was sent an hour later.

A while after the plumbers left my house I noticed that the hose coming from the back of the washer that had been zip tied to the sink hardware was now unattached and laying in the sink. There was a hose on the other sink that was also disconnected and laying in the other sink. So after paying $165 to have 2 plumbers fix essentially NOTHING I got to drive over to Home Depot and buy zip ties, then spend time re-attaching it. ALSO, for the 40 minutes the 2 plumbers were here the plumber doing the work spent much time on the phone while ""working."" FYI: She asked the plumber if he failed to re-attach the hoses and he blatantly lied to her and said yes, when that is absolutely NOT the case!

After feeling ripped off, I called and spoke to the woman answering the phone. I explained my situation and during our 35-minute conversation she kept putting me on hold- I'm assuming to speak to the plumber... I told her that I'm not looking for anything for free, but that $165 for 40 minutes to fix next to nothing while her employee talks on the phone and leaves the job site worse than it was before he got there was excessive to put it nicely. Rather than spend another minute on hold I asked her if she was planning on refunding ANY of our money and she clearly and firmly said ""NO."" So here we are.

There are 9,000 other plumbers in the area. Apparently Bertoli would rather hold on to someone's $165 and lose a customer than perhaps give them back SOME of their money, if nothing more than a gesture. Bad business in my opinion. NEVER AGAIN.

If you choose to use them I sure hope you have a better experience than I did!

Oil to gas conversion. Fast and high quality work, panel came nicely pre-installed. Excellent back office always picking up the phone, great communication overall. I was ready to pay out of pocket but they became a PSE&G participating contractor so they could apply for a loan for me.

Highly recommended for a new gas installation.

After reading several reviews about Bertoli plumbing, I decided to give them a try. When I called their office, I explained to the receptionist that I would like to have a slightly used dishwasher installed because my current dishwasher was no longer working. On the day of my scheduled appointment, a very young technician arrived at the house. He quickly looked at the Bosch dishwasher and said that we need a longer drain pipe as the current hose wasn't long enough to reach the drain. We were a little surprised that he was telling us that we needed to order the part as we assumed they would be prepared for a dishwasher installation. The technician told us to order a universal dishwasher drain hose and then left. We thought, if the part is universal, then why wouldn't they have the part on their truck. He gave us a very vague details as to why he couldn't do the installation and parts he needed to do the job. I had to call the office for additional and specific details for the installation that he refused to communicate. I had to order the part, make another appointment a week later where the same tech came back and tried to work on the dishwasher installation for over two hours with no success.
He attached the drain pipe to the air vent, where water flowed everywhere, he couldn't figure out what was the problem, then told us we had to order another part, that the universal drain hose we were told to buy was wrong. Again he didn't give much details, he kept going outside to make phone calls. We asked him if he was having issues and he would ignore our questions, by not answering and was huffing and puffing with annoyance. He called the office for the last time, came back in the house packed up his stuff and left the job and mess in our kitchen with no further explanation other than there was no charge and he couldn't do the job... later that night my husband (not a plumber) looked at some YouTube videos, and checked the manufacturers manual and did the installation himself! Now we are up and running with no help from Bertoli and their inexperienced technician.

All I can say is WOW.
I Spent WEEKS dealing with these guys (Matt in particular) taking and sending pictures for a job I have. I suggested they send a tech out to see the job live but they said the pictures would be fine. I am sure you can guess where this is going
My husband took the day off today to meet them. Spencer calls me at 7:45 am and already I can tell he doesn't know what the job is or what the pictures represent. So, I tell my husband it sounds like he doesn't know what he's doing and to be careful when he arrives.
Spencer arrives and right from the start doesn't have the correct size pipe for the job. Great. My husband says the guy calls his boss and my husband can hear the boss yelling at the tech telling him he needs to stock the truck properly etc
I have been calling them ALL morning to try and talk to them and no answer. No answer from 9:30-11:30 am on a Monday.
Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere

Customer Service was great! Spoke live to someone immediately and appointment was set up for following day. I emailed them a pic of the part that was leaking on the boiler so they would know what to have on the truck. Very happy with their tech and their front office.

I called for shower faucet leaking. Operator returned my call and hooked me up with technicals right away and two awesome gentlemen showed up on my door step in 15 min. (Lucked our both were near by my house) both nice gentlemen diagnosed the issue and told me I have to change the part that behind the shower faucet. And he called his associate and they've got the part in 10 mins. And took another 10 mins. To change the part and job is all done in an hour including first time I called. Job was done professionally. One thing I would ask is if technicians could ware foot protection all the time. That would be wonderful. And I felt sorry that I didn't have any cash for tips. It was my bad and I wasn't expected service was done in same day within an hour. Otherwise, I would go to bank and prepare cash for tips. My bad. Anyway, wonderful job done by two wonderful gentlemen today!! Thank you!!!!!
