The service tech was pretty helpful. That was about all that was good about this company. I was supposed to get an estimate in my e-mail which didnt happen until I called twice. When the estimate showed up it was about a third of the price of a completely new generator. I called to get an itemized estimate so I could make an informed decision, they would not do that. WHAT! They would not separate the labor from the parts, I asked what their labor rate was - they would not tell me that, pretty much just give us the money and dont ask any questions. From the representive on the phone it was take it or leave it... I'm going to leave it.

I had a whole house generator installed by this company. They clearly don't have the experience needed to perform this service. They also advertise they are BBB accredited when they are not, and their contractor's license expired nearly a year ago.
* Was told generator could go anywhere, but at time of job start was told that wasn't the case; later was told by different employee that it could have gone in the original place I wanted it. It was decided that the unit would be placed up next to house by electric meter with propane tank about 15 feet away in my yard
* The unit had not been received in time to start my project; workers showed up on April 1 with no generator
* Five days later they brought unit, waited 3 hours for extra man to help unload unit from truck
* They installed unit in the middle of my yard, not next to house.
* When I discovered the error in placement, I told them it needed to be moved next to the house. They had put it in the middle of the yard where I was getting ready to have concrete poured for a carport (which I had already told them before they started).
* This error required another day of work, which required another day of my time to oversee
* Company tried to reschedule plumber next day because it was raining
* Plumber showed up at office of propane company trying to talk them into dropping off a tank and my house so that he could hook it up (propane company can't do that)
* Plumber installed different flex line that what came with the unit (which I found out about through the propane company)
* Plumber gas line was installed in unsightly manner when it could have been done more neatly
* It took me until April 9, 2024 to find a way to contact the COO of the company (had to subscribe to a search website to get his info)
* COO has not responded to three emails I have sent him
* I have requested the company audit the charges from a previous plumbing job that I felt were too high, and they have not contacted me about that
* Found out Bert Black Company's contractor's license expired in May of 2023
* Company advertises A+ rating with the BBB, but they are not accredited with the BBB according to BBB website
* I was charged full contract price for the job, despite all of the trouble I've had with this company. They should have discounted me.

the service was very poor. they came over very disrespectful. they didnt tell me about a service fee. they also wanted to charge me 400 dollars for each toilet that didnt need any major work on it. after I told them they didn't tell me about a service fee they got even more rude saying they were going to call there attorney on me. The treatment towards me was very disappointing as a customer. I will not be returning to them for any future service.

Came in, diagnosed problem properly a fixed problem with no issues in a timely manner . Reliable quality service, Prompt & on time .

Poor service, will not respond to my repeated emails, 2 men have tried to talk over me rather than let me speak, after saying the unit they recommended - and I purchased from them - would not be expected to keep my house cooled below 75 in the summer heat (this was not disclosed when they wanted my $$ for it). This company was great and had trustworthy and reliable technicians 10 years ago - not now!!

Requested the company come and check why my air was not cooling as it should. A service repair person came out and appeared to do a good job in checking the problem. He said he going to put in freon to help with the temperature of the air.
My biggest complaint is that the new way companies are beginning to do work is to not disclose to the consumer very much information of what is being done or what the cost would be or what the cost was for that day's service.
I was not given an invoice, not was I quoted what the charge would be for that day's service. I was asked for my credit card, and I did not know the cost until the amount was taken out of my banking account, but I still have not and was not given an itemized invoice of what was done and the cost of any itemized work.
There was a little bit of pushy salesman's talk. I was told that there should be something done right now with a little pushiness in the tone. I had to explain that I did not want anything done so quickly and I needed to think about what he was offering.
I am not sure if what he did has made it any better and with his explanation it appeared he was telling me that what he did do would not be helpful because I probably needed a new complete system, with the one I have is only about seven years old.
He left me somewhat confused, leaving me not knowing what really is needed. The air is somewhat cooler than it was before he came out, but he did not tell me how much or if he did put in the freon and did not give me any type of invoice showing a breakdown of the work he performed on that day..
Sooooooo!

I bought my house in Little Rock about 14 months ago. I immediately had Bert Black (Adam) come to perform a service on my air conditioning system. After the initial service visit, I signed a service contract which provided me with two services in the next 12 months. Both services were performed by the company as agreed. In July, 2022, my air conditioning failed because of proper cleaning and maintenance. I carefully observed all 3 service visits. The company did not remove the top of the system and clean the coils, the fan motor or the fan. The lack of proper cleaning resulted in failure to remove humidity from the home. My last service visit from Bert Black was in April, 2022. Three (3) months after the last visit, I now have a severe mold problem in my home -- and a $12,000.00 bill to remove the mold and perform and complete home cleaning. I employed a professional building scientist and a professional mold and water removal company. They along with a different air conditioning company verified that Bert Black had failed to properly maintain my system.
I called the Bert Black office to speak to the manager/owner/CEO, but unfortunately reached Judy, the office manager, who refused to allow me to speak to someone in charge. She also refused to give me her full name. I requested that I receive a refund for next year's service contract -- as I do not plan to use their services. She refused to refund the contract charge even though they had not provided services under the contract. Bert Black clearly performs substandard work and the quality of their AC maintenance is totally unacceptable. I advise all to go elsewhere for air conditioning installation and maintenance. This has been a very costly and unfortunate experience.

Horrible customer service. Twice now, they have no showed for our scheduled appointments to have our kitchen window replaced. They did not even bother calling to let me know. When I reached out to them, they did not even offer an apology. Completely dissatisfied!!

You better get in writing before deal with this group, I got charged $2,200.00 for a job the took 4 hours for a rough-in on a shower and vanity in a single bath-room. Also, had a patio serviced and was charged for a new track that was never put in..

BUYER BEWARE!!! This company was called to replace a garbage disposal. The tech went to the closest hardware store and purchased a garbage disposal for $119. Then turned around and charged us $264. After house call and labor ($140/hr), the total invoice: $506!! I would rate this company no stars, office employee (Judy) is the owner's puppet!
