Built a new home in Milton. Benoure was, by far, the most professional contractor on the job. Every phase of the job from design to final billing was handled promptly and fairly. I can't say enough especially given the stark contrast to other subs. I highly recommend them.
Leah N.We recently worked with Benoure to replace our garbage disposal and install a new toilet in our home. Several years ago, they replaced my furnace. They are busy, so it takes some patience to get things scheduled. However, we found this was totally offset by the service they provide. The plumbers that come to the house are professional and efficient. They do excellent work that we trust. I highly recommend them.
competent, courteous, prompt service person
openly discussed the problem, answered my questions about it and what I could do for periodic service
Ted C.Couldn't buy a return phone call from a Benoure estimator - and I gave them two chances over a six-month period.
And I was planning to put central heat in a new house. Tried once. No response. Tried again six months later. No response.
They need to return their calls if they want any business.
Apparently they are fat and happy.
Imagine, if they won't call back to sell a multi-thousand-dollar heating system ($$,$$$) , what will happen on a minus-20 Vermont winter night when I have no heat and call them for help.
I'll bring my business elsewhere, thank you very much.
Mark B.Benourne Plumbing has serviced our heating system several times and they have always been prompt in responding and handled each issue with competence.
When we had no heat this winter they came right away. Glad to know we can count on them when we need them.
I cannot say enough good things about Benoure. Our very old furnace broke earlier this week, mid-winter, and before one of the coldest weekends yet. After VT Gas told us we needed a replacement, I frantically called as many contractors as I could. Most gave me the same story, this is the busy season, they are very sorry but the earliest they can do is after the weekend. I left a message at Benoure and expected the same when I got a call back shortly after. Sure enough, super busy, earliest available next week... But he said he would call me back if something opened up. A glimmer of hope, and I returned to my list of phone numbers, and tried to figure out we would do with two toddlers in the house on a freezing weekend..
Within 30 minutes I got a call back from Benoure - he was able to pull some people off of another job and they would be able to install a brand new unit the next day!! Music to my ears. Not only that, but he could meet me the same day to assess the old unit and the space and make sure the right unit was available. He gave me a 20 minute notice, i drove home from work, he did the assessment, gave me a quote. Very professional, very nice, honest.
Next day - showed up on time, with 3 extra guys. New unit brought in, old one removed, a few hours later... And we have heat!!!! Not only that but the unit is much quieter, more even heating, it's great. The workers were extremely nice and professional, answered all of our questions, put down dropcloths, worked steadily through the morning and afternoon.
Overalll a very wonderful experience. Was feeling completely helpless with the deck stacked against me, and I felt that Benoure was the only one tht acknowledged our situation and went out of their way to help us. So much appreciated. We will be definitely be calling them again in the future.
Carol K.I love working with Benoure Plumbing. They are always reasonably priced and friendly. I have used them for years, both at my business and my home. I would highly recommend them.
We chose Benoure because the former owners of our home used them and also they came recommended by a real estate agent. We've spent the last 2 summers (and hundreds of dollars) trying to get our air-conditioning units fixed as they seem to be leaking and have needed multiple re-fills of refrigerant each season. During Benoure's last visit to our house (at least the 4th or 5th just for our air-conditioning), they finally located the leak, but said they couldn't fix it that day because it was raining (fair enough...apparently having water in your system is not good). But then they couldn't get us back on the schedule for 3 weeks. Of course, our system broke again during that time frame (all of the refrigerant leaked out) and turns out the tech that located the leak didn't think to refill our system with refrigerant. My bad here: I should have inquired. Nevertheless, when I called to see if they could at least swing by and give us some refrigerant they said they had no availability before my next scheduled appointment, which was 2 weeks away. I was so frustrated that I got a recommendation from a friend's father who is in building and construction. The company he suggested came to our house 2 days later, located the leak immediately, had the system fixed and up and running 100% by the third day (Friday) and primed the upstairs system to be checked the following week. They came back on Monday to check our upstairs system, located the leak and fixed it all in the same day. Bottom line: I've been pushing Benoure's to fix our system for 2 summers now and another company came and solved all of our problems in a total of 3 work days--and were pleasant about the entire process (the scheduler at Benoure's is just rude and unhelpful).
Eric M.I called Benoure as I had no heat on my main floor. Long story short, the thermostat had been changed from heat to cool. Apparently a house guest had changed it and I did not catch it. The technician fixed the issue 5 within minutes but then charged me for one hours labor. ($125.00) I can see that this is company policy, but did not appreciate that they wanted to charge me for a whole hour, when I was told that there was a technician in the area. The only reason that I went with Benoure was that they had installed the zone valves, which I thought to be the issue, and knew that they were under warranty. Next time, not only will I check the thermostat more closely (dumb move) but I will also call a company with better rates, as if I would like to work with a company that has fair rates for the work performed. I already felt bad enough missing the setting on the thermostat, but I had to pay someone $125.00 to tell me that.
I went with Benoure on the advice of my real estate agent, but I won't make the mistake of using them twice.
To start out with, their receptionist on the phone had a cold tone and wasn't at all compassionate about my plumbing problem. She said couldn't do anything for me for the next two weeks because they were booked. But after I said I would call a different company, she ""magically"" squeezed me in for an appointment two days later.
The plumber came on time, and was generally friendly but wasn't really able to diagnose the intermittent leak. After having me run water from various locations in the house, he sealed the tub overflow and replaced the overflow plate. He was there about an hour total and charged me $150, including his ""transportation fee"" from Essex to my home in South Burlington.
When the leak occurred again 2 weeks later, I called back distressed that the problem was happening again and that I'd already spent $150 for a ""fix"" that essentially did nothing. After consulting with the plumber, the receptionist called me back and left me a voicemail that said they wouldn't come back out unless I called a general contractor to take down all the drywall so that they could access the pipes and that ""it would be understandable if I decided to go with a different company"" as there would be considerable billable hours involved if they did come back. It was like it would be easier for them to just get rid of me, then actually having to complete the job correctly.
So much for standing by your work and treating the customer in a friendly way. I'm used to working with solid Vermont companies that care about customer service and getting the job done right. I If that's what you're looking for too, then I wouldn't call Benoure.
