Our AC went out on July 4th during a major heatwave (115-120° temps). No one was working the holiday or the weekend, so we were days without AC with little kids, dogs and family in town. I finally had someone scheduled the next week but just happened to comment on a post regarding the lack of AC repair services available in the area when someone recommended Chris with Benji's. Sooooo thankful he messaged me and was able to come the next day to check my system, drove all the way down the hill to grab a new condensing unit, and back up to my home to install. By that afternoon, we finally had AC again and at $1100 less than we were scheduled to pay the following day with another company. He has kept in touch to be sure everything is running smoothly and is even coming back to clean a portion of the HVAC system he didn't install...for free!

Highly recommend Chris. He'll absolutely be our go to for future needs. On top of that, he's a genuinely nice guy who was punctual (very rare around here), communicative, and honest. You'll not be disappointed with him or his services.

I requested service on my mini split, meanwhile I ordered a swap out, per the first HVAC co . Did not need it!! Benji was honest knowledgeable and did the job .
Plus cleaned out the original and it can work for a 2nd mini. Very pleased!

Bills were padded with lots of fees ($250 emergency fee on top of the usual fee - for something that was clearly not an emergency). Troubleshooting fee of 3 hours at $95/hr. And a $580 HVAC bill only to be told we have to get a new unit. I think I called them - and found out they were not licensed with CSLB for plumbing, this was last year, maybe its changed now, but with the kind of expensive invoices we got, it comes with some reasonable expectation of competence.

Chris, who is the owner of Benji's, worked on our Central AC unit. He is very knowledgeable and forthright with the repairs, as well as all of the steps he has to take to get there, which I greatly appreciated. He has been very thorough, as well as accommodating to our needs and schedules to get the work done. Along with his knowledge and work ethic, he is very professional, friendly and easy to work with. Chris is a great honest guy who helped us out tremendously! We got quotes from other people who were telling us to use cranes and change big parts out of our AC system. These guys are complete frauds. Chris lied to me over and over to my face about a job, gave me a quote and then postponed the job once before cancelling and making up the excuses such as my dogs are dangerous, But never mentioned it in person and never asked to have the dogs removed which were locked in a room anyway. Then lied to me and my parents to our face about his personal history to make us like him more. Afterwords texted me the opposite that I'm a bad guy for asking him to park in my driveway instead of on a busy street where it's illegal to park and dangerous. The hypocrisy is real. Then he told me I was rude to his secretary which is false. I was very carefully polite on purpose. Lol. The nerve of this guy. Don't trust him. Will butter you up in person and then turn on you. He has a personal history of doing this. Hiring him is a gamble. There's a reason he is available for cheap jobs. I have a gut feeling his friends are the ones leaving the good reviews. I would like to make it very clear that my dogs were not involved in the situation were locked away and he could've easily requested that they don't be there for the job rather than canceling on the last minute. It's a lame excuse, and it's poor customer service for him to do it via text rather than call me. Afterwards he insulted me and this reply he just did is him just trying to play it off.

Chris and crew are the best! From the first phone call inquiring about mini-splits until the job was completed just over a week later, I was super impressed with their professionalism and service! Chris came to my home and gave me a very fair quote for the installation. He also allowed me to use my own trusted electrician, which I really appreciated. Chris did everything he said he would do and he did it ON TIME... something that should be common business practice in the trades (but unfortunately is not), making Chris's service a real breath of fresh air out here in the high desert!
