So we had a "Pin Hole" sized leak on the hot water heater and called BFP. The initial contact was ok, and they were able to send a tech out that afternoon. A pin hole leak that DID NOT require the cutting of pipe, or the wall! The tech soldered a piece over the pin hole and charged us $400.00 !!! He was there less than an hour, more like 25 minutes. On the phone I was told it would be a $59 service call, which was reasonable, but $400.00 !!! REALLY?? Highway robbery! Make sure to call someone else and check your prices before doing business with these people!.

Ask for Nick Strader. He'll help you out. Good and honest guy. On time and helpful at explaining what was going on. Fair prices and were timely in the project. Would recommend to my friends and family members. Will hire them again if need be.

I wish that I could give zero stars. Please, oh please, use anyone BUT these people.

Five years ago, we paid over $3000 for a new tankless water heater and installation. We loved the job and were very pleased that Benjamin Franklin included a 5 year service plan with the installation. So every year, they would come out and flush the tank,... and "check on other things" in our house, just to see that everything was doing what it should be. This is actually a ploy to try and sell you other stuff, but hey, that's business and I was fine with that.
So on year 3, when the very friendly (but supposedly incompetent) technician said that the shut-off valves in our house were outdated (1986) and could be dangerous, we took him up on the idea of switching them all out (the whole house) to the tune of $500. Our entire house had flooded 4 years earlier, so we always put safety first.
We also happen to have three new toilets laying around, waiting for my husband to switch them out, and the tech said he could give us a discount to install them while he was there (another $500). And this is when the trouble starts:
1 Toilet installs without a hitch. The 2nd toilet, I am told by the tech, has a broken flange that will cost over $500 to fix. More than it cost us to have them install all 3 toilets!! We didn't have $1500 (our now running total) and he explained that it would not leak, only rock, to go ahead and install the new 2nd toilet and NOT fix the flange. Since we were broke after the first $1000, that was what we opted to do. The 3rd toilet went in without comment, and he thanked us, and we thanked him, and he left.
Two days later... the 3rd toilet began to rock back and forth. Since the installation was supposedly warrantied, I called in and explained the situation and they sent a new tech out. The new tech said that the 3rd toilet now had a broken flange and he suspected that it was broken before the new toilet went in, even though the first guy had not mentioned it to me, like he had the 2nd toilet. He gave me the same quote to fix it ($500) and when I questioned the warranty, I got to speak with his manager.
Chris Anderson proceeded to spend the next 40 minutes cussing me out and saying that my fat @$$ and my fat family had sat all over the toilet and broke it. He also explained that because I am a woman and don't want to "get my hands dirty" I am paying for plumbers and then trying to rip them off and get something for nothing. I was clearly to cheap to fix the 2nd toilet properly and I must have known that the 3rd one was bad too, and now I was trying to rob them. I was crying as the tech had his mouth open, shocked over the shouting he could hear being spewed at me over the phone as he stood next to me.
Although the tech apologized, he made it clear to me that Mr. Anderson was not approving any repairs or warranty work on my toilet,... and that if the tech performed them, it would likely come out of his own pocket. The tech, did some repair to the toilet, apologized and left. The toilet began rocking a week after that, and continued to until my husband took some vacation, went to Lowes and bought a $5 part, and fixed both toilets for good. They haven't moved since. Probably because I am 5'4", and weigh 85lbs. My husband weighs 185. So It must have been our three-year-old that broke that toilet Mr. Anderson, because she weighed 20lbs that year.
At the time, I wrote to the owner, Mrs. Tanya, and left several voicemails. She has never once responded, in any way. The tech that witnessed the events is still there, and he tells me Mr. Anderson left the company recently.
Since this was my last year of service warranty on my tankless water heater, (I suppose I wasn't too fat for them to take my $3184 after my house flooded) I am sharing my experience both to dissuade others, and to begin enjoying life after Benjamin Franklin.
You have been warned.
