Mary needs to either go to diverse and customer service training or retire. Her phone mannerism words cannot describe. I called needing a service tech to come out because of a leak in the kitchen I am unable to pin point the leakage. So, I called the number on the social media page, which routed to the McKinney office, which subsequently directed me to Duncanville. Mary stated she did not know where Balch Springs was and did not know of any other competitor? I thought, you should as this is the industry you are in. With that said, I went back on line to verify, after speaking to Deborah, who is in McKinney, she stated, when she search by zip code, Duncanville Benjamin Franklin Plumbing populates. Now this is principle. I called back and Mary answers stating ""McKinney can't tell us who to service."" I requested for a supervisor and Mary did exactly what I knew she would do, I was transferred to what ""voicemail."" I left a message and filed a BBB report and Frymire one of their competitors is coming out today. Mary is truly a bad representation of the Benjamin Franklin Plumbing brand.
The manager returned my call, I explained the issue I had and that Mary needs coaching. The manager was very professional and addressed my concerned and the fact that their particular location do not service Balch Springs.

As noted with other reviewers, I'm speaking on the Duncanville location specifically.

A few weeks ago, I had a pipe to burst in my kitchen. I checked out Ben Franklin's website before calling. The website stated that they provide free estimates, and the person I spoke to when I called, confirmed this. When the plumber/tech came out, he didn't have any equipment to locate the leak. So he made holes in the wall. (I could've done that myself!) When he informed that he couldn't find anything, stating that he needed to make another hole, I asked him to leave. The next day I received a bill for $127. When I called to question the bill, reminding them that I was supposed to receive a free estimate, they informed me that the tech performed an ""evaluation,"" not an estimate. So they're basically playing semantics so that they can charge you. Sounds like false advertising to me and it places homeowners in a terrible spot because we all know these companies will place a lien on your home if you don't pay.

I had a guy come out on Wednesday and he said he'd get with his boss and they'd discuss what needed to be done and then call me back the following morning. Thursday came and went and he never called. I called Friday morning and asked why I hadn't heard anything and the she said she'd get ahold of him and have him give me a call back. I called back friday at a quarter to 4 and was told he was still out in the field and wouldn't call me back until he got done with his days worth of work.

I'm trying to sell the house and if I can't actually get them to return my calls I have to find someone who's interested in my business. This is a definite look elsewhere.

In short I recommend Ben Franklin plumbing. Plumber showed up on time. Completed the job in a few hours including cleanup. The original drain line from sink to the main drain was bowed upward (inside the wall where you couldn't see it) which require replacing to drain properly. Bonus the cut into the wall were straight cuts which means easy repair on the sheet rock.
We have used Ben Franklin multiple times over the years and will continue to use them.

I have had all great experiences with Benjamin Franklin plumbing. I called today with an important issue and was hoping they could get to me before my spring break was up and it was Friday. They were willing to come immediately and fix my issue. It ended up being a little more to deal with than originally thought, and they did an amazing job and went overboard and did not charge me any extra. The technicians are very nice. I highly recommend Benjamin Franklin plumbing.....no complaints here.

I called Ben Franklin Plumbing on Monday 2/15/21 for plumbing services for a busted pipe, they gave me an appointment for Friday 2/19/21 from 3:00 - 5:00 and took my credit card number to charge the fee. I called them to confirm the appointment, but unfortunately they could not find anything. They then put me on awaiting list. I called Saturday to confirm again, they then told me I was out of their service area and I needed to call Duncanville because the appointment was cancelled again. Duncanville does not return calls, therefore I called another company and will be sure to NOT refer to above company.

After difficulty getting thru the universal customer representatives, Jason showed up within a hour and quickly corrected the problem. My neighbors house was flooding due to a clogged toilet. Jason also helped me locate a qualified restoration company. He was great.

I'm surprised by the reviews here on yelp. EspecIally since google reviews are so high and that aligns with my experience with them. I just used Benjamin Franklin to snake the main water line in our kitchen and install a new water line connection for our refrigerator. Right from when I called Jaime was so nice and knowledgeable for setting up the service. The service was great they arrived on time explained everything thoroughly. Adding the water line wasn't even on the agenda but figured I asked since they were there and they were able to install and connect it during that visit. We will definitely be using them again for future needs and referring them to our friends and family.

This this review is specifically for the Duncanville location. I would highly recommend THAT YOU DO NOT USE THEM,THEIR PRICES ARE OVER INFLATED

We own a rental property in Grand Prairie and unbeknownst to us our tenant had Benjamin Franklin Plumbing - Duncanville, come out to restart the water heater and repair a leak in the guest bathroom. When we received a copy of their bill from the tenant, I phoned Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, because I felt the $414.00 charges were excessive and asked for a breakdown of parts and labor. They told me that they charge a flat rate of $117.00 for every job they do. For example $117 to re-light the water heater and $117.00 to repair the faucet leak. I asked how they'd rebuilt the faucet and they told me they had replaced some of the washers but reused the existing parts. So what made up the additional $180 they had charged on the invoice?

I again asked for a breakdown of parts and labor and was told that their ""master plumber"" would call me; which of course he didn't. I called again to speak with the ""master plumber"" who told me that I needed to take it up with my tenant, because he was not about to credit me back for anything.

I told him I was looking for a parts and labor cost breakdown because I felt they had taken advantage of the situation and overcharged the tenant; they knew this was a rental property and never received approval from us to enter the property. ""Master Plumber"" said that was not their mode of operation and that he'd send me a breakdown of parts and labor for the work done. After yet another call, nothing has been received.
