Tamara B.Billy C. Was personable and knowledgeable! Took care of our issue right away! Thanks for a great job!
K. C.Just to reserve the appointment online cost $39.99- who charges for using your own internet connection to schedule?! Had a bath tub faucet 'rebuilt' which in my language is just tightened- was charged &404.00 for that, then had a flush valve replaced for a toilet- another $404.00 added! Total bill for two small jobs- $ 847.00!! Tech was very nice, did try to sell the contract, (which is no help considering the high prices to begin with- ) will not use this company in the future. Beware of sheep in wolves clothing!!!
Jim H.Bill did a great job replacing the pump in my well. He arrived on time after giving me a call that he was on his way. He was courteous and informative in explaining what the problem was and what was the best solution. His 31 years of experience really showed. Bill and Ben Franklin restored our water quickly so we could enjoy the holiday weekend.
Prompt arrival for service, very professional and friendly serviceman (Charlie) showed up, completed inspection of water heater, faucets, pipes etc. thoroughly. Recommended replacement of non-working sump pump and replaced it in about 30-45 minutes. Cleaned up after completion of work.
Very pleased with the workmanship. $550 for sump pump with club membership sounds high and that's why I took away one star. Otherwise very great service.
Rose C.Ben Franklin coming to the rescue today! My water stopped running sometime before midnight last night and I went all day without water. I won't bash my previous plumber here who never returned any of my phone calls, but Ben Franklin made me feel like I was important and made sure that someone came out tonight to get the water back in my home. Billy C was knowledgeable and friendly. He was quick and honest about diagnosing the problem and quick to resolve it. Having water back was the best part of the day. So thankful for Billy and Ben Franklin. Will be the only plumbing company I use and recommend going forward. Thank you Billy and Ben Franklin!
Alexandra A.I have been at my new home for three weeks and have been stood up by just about every contractor I have had an appointment with. So I wasn't expecting much from BF... But I was very positively surprised!! The office contact was friendly and followed up at every turn. And the technician got everything done to perfection, even taking the time to show me how everything was done and how to troubleshoot in the future. I would use them again in a heartbeat!
Kristin D.Brian came out to my house to replace a water tank. He was professional, took inventory of what was needed, went and got all the parts, and then came back and completed the job on time. He was very clean and careful of our. He had been at our home a couple weeks ago to replace a toilet and did a fabulous job. I'm amazed that someone in plumbing is so neat and that it doesn't even look like anyone has been here. That has not happened in the past with other plumbers. I would definitely recommend Brian and Benjamin Franklin plumbers for any jobs in the home. Thank you for correcting our water pressure and giving us recommendations about our pipes as well. Great job
Mark S.Switched to this company a couple of years ago. Used to use a long time local family-owned plumbing company. That company was sold (though it still bears the old name) and we tried Ben Franklin as an alternative, mainly because the prices of our former plumber had become outrageous. Ben Franklin has consistently been prompt and reasonably priced. Honored their warranty with no fuss on a piece of work that had an issue. It doesn't feel as warm and friendly as the company we formerly used (at least before that company was sold) but the work is good and is far more reasonably priced.
Neal M.This company has re-piped and replaced the water heaters, as well as done some other work, in two of our homes. They have always gone above and beyond. The work is excellent, they are always on time, and the plumbers have always explained what they are doing and why and show us the work in progress. Brian and Chris re-piped and replaced the water heater in one of our homes on May 9, 2016 and did a fantastic job. I really appreciated that they showed me how they mapped out the work and explained the process. The access space was very tight yet they were diligent and put a lot of effort into the work. There was an unrelated problem under my home that they noticed and I appreciate that they pointed it out to me. I have recommended this company to friends and am grateful that we found them.
Pat R.I hired them mainly because of the commercial Mike Rowe does. Stupid, right? Yep, stupid. I had them out 3 days ago and had over $6000.00 worth of work done. A charcoal system, water softener, had the pipe for the washing machine reworked, he changed where the main water supply cut off was, fixed a minor leak and put a back up on my sump pump. He was pleasant, professional and was here all day. He did try to sell me the ""protection plan"" but I didn't want it and he was not pushy about it. He did notice that the downstairs 1/2 bath had a sewer gas odor. He believed it was because it was never used and the water had evaporated out of the trap. So we ran some water in the sink and the odor dissipated. Three days later I checked on the bathroom and when I opened the door I was overwhelmed by the smell. I called again and was told that it would be another $39.99 service fee. ""Maybe he will waive it."" Another plumber showed up. He immediately tried to sell me on the service plan before even looking at the problem. Then we sniffed around and I thought the smell was coming from the sink. Sure enough, apparently the genius that put the sink in never put a trap in. The line went straight to the sewer with nothing in between. I had just bought the house less than a week before and apparently the home inspector missed that little gem. The previous owners had to know there was a problem because they had put a clear piece of tape over the overflow hole in the sink, presumably to stop the odor from coming up. Yeah, that solved the problem. So he put a sink waste arm in and while he was there I had a hand held shower that I asked him to put in the main bathroom. It was a 6 minute fix and I had all the parts. I've put them in myself before but I figured since he was there, just let him do it. It wasn't mentioned to me what this ""minor adjustment was going to cost me"". The sink waste arm was $404.00 and putting a hand held shower on in the tub was.......ready for it? $195.00. The bill was $599.99. He did waive the $39.99 though. And I did hear about the protection plan numerous times. Well, if you plan on using them on a regular basis and they are going to be your go to plumber, you'd need the protection plan because it gives you the first $500.00 off the bill. Which might make your bill almost reasonable when all is totaled up. So all in all the one star rating has nothing to do with me being dissatisfied with the job or the plumbers. It's the price. Way to expensive and quite unreasonable. Never, ever again. And that's a shame because I liked them, but not to the tune of $599.00. And shame on you Mike Rowe. You're all for the working man and the average Joe can't afford this.
UPDATE. After publishing the review I was contacted by the company. They apologized for the price, said the plumber was just going by their standard charges and would refund me $250.00. I said I appreciated that, and I did. I received the check today. So they did indeed follow through. They do good work, just make sure of what you're expected to pay. They won't quote a price over the phone, and they do charge 39.99 to come out. See my review of Charles Moon Plumbing.
