Recommended Customer Reviews

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing has been out to my house many times and has done an excellent job. They have always been on time and their plumbers are knowledgeable and explained necessary repairs in terms I could understand. They have always taken great care of my plumbing needs and I highly recommend them.

We have had YEARS of plumbing issues only for it to end up being a city problem and not us. Mike was very helpful and kind and we will definitely reach out again if we ever have plumbing issues again.

I was charged $1,225 for a repair work that took the technician a shovel, $20 worth materials, and less than 1 hour of labor that involved digging up two holes to find the water leakage and replaced a 10 inch of PVC pipe. Essentially, Benjamin Franklin charged me $1,200/hr for labor.
If you are the owner or manager at Benjamin Franklin plumbing company, feel free to provide more information on how a plumbing company can justify a $1,200/hr labor fee that took one man, a shovel and a couple inches of PVC pipe to complete.
Background story:
I called the water district today to help determine if there is a problem with our water meter as the water consumption rate was reported to be abnormally high on our water bill. We soon found out it was not a meter problem but a leakage that was going on. We found a wet spot where we thought might be the possible source of the leakage and decided to call Benjamin Franklin Plumbing Company for help. To remphasize, 99% of diagnostic work was done prior to requesting BFP's service.
I showed the technician where we thought the problem was coming from based on our preliminary investigation with the water district staff, and after about 30 minutes of digging two holes he was able to identify the leakage and roughly 15 minutes total to fix the leakage.
I'd have no complaint paying high service fee for some high-tech equipment and 5 workers to get the problem resolved because essentially that's how much it costs to hire 5 workers to dig trenches to install an entire sprinkler system, but in this case, it took one person to use a shovel to dig two holes and replaced a 10 inch PVC pipe.
This is basically a charge of $1,200 dollars for an hour of PURE labor cost. You be the judge, I am just here telling my experience. I don't have a problem paying more if this turns out to be a daunting task that takes half a day or more to fix. But the possible area was pre-identified for the technician and it was a lucky day that the leakage was found in less than an hour.
I also had a coupon from their website but forgot to give it to the technician. So I called the company about it and according to their policy, they told me to print out the coupon from their website and mail it to their physical address so they would refund with a check. I am not sure who would ONLY allow physical mail these days for a coupon to be honored, when email is the most obvious option, I asked to speak with a manager but was rejected, you can be the judge if this is the kind of company that you are willing to work with.
The reason I gave an one-star is that I felt the company took advantage of my leakage situation plain and simple, supply/demand + urgency = opportunity to price gouging
Lesson learned
Would I recommend this company to anyone? Definitely not unless someone from the company can provide a good reason for a $1200/hr labor charge

They are overpriced and not even willing to break down their pricing or justify why they are charging that much for services. Took advantage of people during the Texas freeze emergency. Do not recommend.
