Recommended Customer Reviews

Had a simple dishwasher to garbage disposal hose replacement, they charged $450...my renters told me they expected the trip charged would be tied in to the total (based on how it was explained to them) but it wasn't, so they said it was $99 more than they were expecting. No pictures or documentation included and when I tried to get more details, the manager got really awkward with me and said I can't talk to the owner.

They charged me $100 to come out and told me they could fix my leak but then never gave me an estimate or followed up to fix. No response to email or phone calls either.

We absolutely do not recommend doing business with Ben Franklin Plumbing, Dillon, CO. If we could give them a zero rating, we would do so. Their main problem is that they grossly overcharge for their workmanship.
THE JOB: We had Ben Franklin install a 1.0-inch ball valve on the supply line (which they supplied) and a bathroom shower valve in our condo.
COMPARABLE ESTIMATE: The plumber that our general contractor would have used (if he had been available on short notice, which he wasn't) would have charged us $50 for the ball valve, $200 to install the ball valve, and $900 to install the bathroom shower valve for a total of $1,150.
OVERCHARGE: Ben Franklin charged us almost three times that amount, $2,957!! We believe that this is unacceptable and frankly highway robbery.
POOR WORKMANSHIP: Not only were the Ben Franklin charges outrageous, but their workmanship was unprofessional and shoddy. For example, the bathroom valve housing was installed upside down and the hot and cold-water valves were not installed at all. This problem was not detected until after the tile was installed around the valve. Consequently, the tile had to be removed, the plumbing job redone, and the tile work redone. Ben Franklin did agree to reimburse us for having the tile work needing to be redone, but much time was lost due to the shoddy workmanship.
POOR COMMUNICATION: In addition to the above, we called and left a voice message three times for a return call to discuss the outrageous charges and the poor workmanship - they never returned our call. They also pushed back on our claim.
We will never do business with Ben Franklin again and do not recommend that anyone else do business with them either. We will be communicating with our management company to recommend that they not use or recommend Ben Franklin as well.
By the way, the relatively positive reviews on this website must either be cherry picked or bogus. Based on our experience, there is no way that anyone should feel that they get their money's worth.

I want to commend both Jane and Tyler! With a constant drip under my sink creating an emergency flooding problem, Jane was the only person who offered to call me of any changes in their busy schedule. She miraculously did call me a short time later to inform me that Tyler would be knocking on my front door in a few minutes! When Tyler arrived, he was professionally dressed and greeted me with a smile on his face. He was so personable and knowledgeable and found the problem after pulling out a couple of wrenches among some other tools. He stopped the water from dripping and will see us again when the parts arrive. I swear, I would adopt this young man into our family! Tyler and Jane such assets to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing!

I cannot say enough good things about Ben Franklin Plumbing. Jane and Paul are super responsive and get the job done. Even for emergency callouts. Meanwhile other companies don't even return calls. Jane even talked me out of a pricy tankless water heater conversion because they're not well suited to the attitude/water temperatures in Summit County. They do furnaces and boilers too! Ben Franklin is going to be saved in my phone as ""Breck Plumber/HVAC"" from now on.

I used this company in August 2021 to hook up kitchen appliances in Breckenridge. They charged over $900 to hook up a garbage disposal ( provided by me) a sink drain and a dishwasher. Since then there have been complaints that the new dishwasher wasn't working well with dirty dishes. I just checked and realized that the technician connected the dishwasher to the cold water supply! Not pleased with their service and the high price for these simple hook ups, they they got wrong!

I had a broken hose bib and couldn't get a plumber to come out. Benjamin Franklin responded first and came out within 3 days. The repair was in a difficult location against the foundation wall in a finished basement area. It took the technician an hour to diagnose the problem and 2 hours to repair. They charged $1500 for the job and said they could not warranty the work as Shark bites were used. I felt ripped off.

We needed to replace our gas forced air furnace before winter hit. Had multiple local vendors come to the house to review and bid the replacement. Two vendors never followed up with a bid, one vendor wanted to talk about my hot water heater and why I should replace it at the same time.
Tyler came to review the scope of the project, wore a mask and took off his shoes. We looked at the furnace, the return air system, thermostat, took measurements, pictures and we discussed options. Two days later had a very reasonable bid which we accepted. Before he ordered the equipment, he came back to the house to confirm sizing, asked appropriate and relevant questions and then we scheduled the work - a two day job.
Tyler showed up on time and did the work. Clean installation, explained what his goal was for the day, got the furnace up and running the first day and then the second day was to install and balance the humidifier, the electronic air cleaner and thermostat. Wore a mask, protected the carpet, cleaned up afterward and we have a new furnace and ready for winter. Tyler was friendly, conversational and generally a pleasant competent young man.
Tyler was great, and I want to mention the brains and personality of the organization - Jane. She is professional, efficient and kept me up to date on the schedule. Great group of folks.

My shower valve was dripping a little bit but I live in Denver. Had my tenant call and have Ben Franklin plumbing come out and rebuild the valves. Ive done this many many times, very simple job. This should only take an hour or so and $30 in parts. I was charged $657.00 .
They charged me $99 service fee just for showing up, and then an additional $558 to rebuild the shower valves, thats outrageous. Not only was the price to rebuild it outrageous, but they also still charged me the evaluation fee of $99 when I had them do the work. I would recommend having anyone else do your plumbing work in the future.

Avoid this company at all cost ! This is exactly what people called a bad contractor. We used the Dillon branch but we're very disappointed. They rush their jobs and are extremely unreliable.
