Unfortunately the plumber that I used, (who was very honest & very reasonable with his prices) sold his business. His customers were referred to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing with a one time ""free"" service charge. I decided to give them a try, as I needed the hose for my kitchen facet sprayer replaced. I was NOT expecting to pay $342. 00 (21.00 tax) for a $20-30 dollar hose & installation fee. I REGRET using BFP, VERY OVERPRICED, shop around, don't get RIPPED OFF like I did. NEVER AGAIN!
DO NOT USE - the are so overpriced it's insane. I had three plumbers out to quote me for the exact same job and their quote came in $5000 over the other two plumbers. What you pay for with them is a text service, email service, courtesy call before they show up, and website. All of that is very nice for customer service but I would rather save a few thousand dollars and not get a text telling me when the technician is arriving.
Terrible company. We called then to fix something in our home and instead of speaking with us they sent the information to the man who says he owns the home. We are in court with him and this caused us issues. They also sent him pictures of things in the home not connected to the fixing. I am not sure if he paid them but it was very crooked. When I called the company Laura hung up on me. When I called back the manager said they always ask if we are the tenants and if not they will need to speak with the landlord. A pure lie. They never asked and proceeded to work with him. Feel betrayed by them and def would not recommend
Do not use. They tried to upsell me and quoted over $2,800 to replace a Hot Water Heater. They messed up their quote so bad, I have a Home Warranty Company and they rejected my claim. That has never happened to me before. What a joke
Tamara B.A recommendation through Home Adviser - was in need of two corroded pipes that needed to be replaced in the basement and the update of internal equipment in the master bath toilet. Keith came over and quickly assessed the job scope. Booked an appointment for the following week. Charles came, quickly assessed what needed to be completed and explained the process. We were very satisfied with the prompt response, understanding of the pipes and suggestions on our hot water heater and other plumbing repairs. Will definitely follow up with them - their knowledge, parts availability and suggestions were great!
Had a water main break problem and was quoted over $2,000 by them and charge for their appearance at my home to give me the $2,000 + quote... Had it fixed for $450... Get a second opinion if you're given a very high estimate just my suggestion
Jo H.If you are looking for a Plumber who is prompt, reliable and takes pride in the outcome of their work, look no further! Benjamin Franklin Plumbing is a top notch team who won't let you down!
Bryan D.Woke up in the morning with no hot water. Nothing leaking but heater not heating water. Called around 10 am and service answered and was able to fit us in for an a after hours emergency appointment for $79 (which is better than most plumbers prices). About a half hour later they called back said they could be there within 30 minutes. They only charge $49 diagnose fee which in the end they waved They came quoted me prices. I needed just a part and a good maintenance cleaning but they did tell me that the hot water heater was 10 years old and that most may not last much past that. The total price for replacing a 50 gallon gas water heater was $2000/$3000 with also having to enlarge duct exhaust due to code changes and for extended warranty etc packages. In my opinion very high without getting other quotes, but considering a 50 gallon heater at lowes is around $500.
Again they were fast and got my hot water going again for around $300. He was extremely nice and explained everything clearly. Again most plumbers get $100+ just to walk in plus hourly fees. They do flat job rate. Would recommend
Difficult to review. My problem was toilet making violent sounds at me in tank. Parts needed to be replaced (old). This happened in my other bathroom and water just started emptying tank. I knew what needed to be done with this bathroom and knew what I paid before. Unfortunately, my plumber of choice, who fixed last time, did not call me back. I wanted this resolved before problem escalated and toilet unusable. If DIYs out there can fix this on own, kudos. I am not, therefore, solicited help. I went on Home Advisor. Benjamin Franklin responded immediately via Home Advisor,
Pros:
They provided same day ""free quote"" for my problem.
They dawned booties before entering house.
They wore nice uniforms.
Professional
Cons:
They were SKY HIGH! They offered 3 options. Replace toilet at $$$$, replace toilet at $$$, or replace parts at $$. I did not want to replace toilet, but understand they have to give options.
Bottom line: I finally got in contact with local Plumber who fixed my 1st bathroom's problem and price was reasonable/fair. They fixed this one at same price which was 1.5 years ago. If you have an emergency, I can almost guarantee Benjamin Franklin will be there to help you, but you will pay for it. If not an emergency, solicit multiple contractors to determine fair and reasonable pricing.
Lori W.Update...i received a email from a representative about my yelp review. They reimbursed me the warranty amount for the hose they installed. I didn't require a equipment warranty since the water heater was removed shortly after they replaced the hose. With this reimbursement I am satisfied with Benjamin Franklin.
