Long story, short... had a hose bib installed 2 years ago. All new. Went to turn on the spigot this Spring 24' and water came flooding from behind the wall, where the spigot was mounted. I was a little baffled - at how this could happen to a new hose bib. The winters have not been that cold & I bleed the water from the lines. I call BF Plumber & explain the situation; they send out a mechanic ""Andrew"", and after mulling over the problem/cause/solution, he informs me, that he will repair it - due to too many factors involved. Helluva nice guy! With a good temperament, notwithstanding scenarios like this. Andrew, repaired the hose bib(efficiently) and made a bad situation....good. It's one thing, to be good at what you do... it's an entirely different thing...to be a good human being. BF Plumbing, be glad you have an employee like Andrew.

So expensive to the point of ridiculousness. They come for an estimate, charge a fee and it's literally thousands more than anyone else

Do not use this business. They overcharge and tell you that you need more work than you actually need. They work on commission and really do not make sure everything is working properly. We called them for an odor problem in one of the bathrooms, which they never resolved. But told us we needed all new pipes.
Do not use this business!!!! Or you will end up paying lots of money. If you ask for follow up, they could care less!!!!!

I had them come out to repair an outside broken PVC pipe connected to my in ground sprinkler system. Repair only lasted 18 months. The person who did the repair cut the pipe that went into the ground to short, did not use connecter piece to extend and level with water source coming out of house. This created a downward angle, that put undue pressure on the one joint, that it literally snapped in half. Called to inform. Was told I would get a call back. This never happened. Had someone else do repair, they showed me, then explained to me why the pipe failed. I had a service contract with them. Canceled. Will never use again due to lousy customer service.

I contacted Benjamin Franklin Plumbing to clear a bathroom toilet clog. The service person was a supervisor. He removed the toilet and ultimately cleared the blockage. However, he was a shyster and he seemed to think he was slick about it.
I had informed him that 2 wks. later we were having new flooring placed in both bathrooms. Per NJ regulations the toilets would have to be removed and reseated hy a licensed plumber. I asked for the cost of that job.
#1: The price he quoted was ridiculous.
#2: The price he charged for the blockage job was also ridiculous. Part of the charge was for new wax seal which I discovered was not done. He used extra long bolts on the toilet which he said he would replace with the proper size when the floor job was done. I didn't contract him for that job so, now I know he's a shyster.
I hired a more reputable (and $$reasonable) plumber for the floor job. That's when I discovered the wax scam. This from a supervisor, you can imagine how the rest of the operation is run.
Bottom line: Use ASAP Plumbing, NOT Benjamin Franklin!

Total ripoffs! To their credit, they came quickly to give an estimate for a new water heater. Cost of getting the estimate: $49. Their price: ($!600+) nearly double of what I paid elsewhere. The salesman said I'd have trouble getting replacement parts if I used someone else. After I laughed the salesman off, he lowered the price to $1274, still staggeringly high.
