What a scam!
I set up a service call for my home with Ben Franklin Plumbing. I had already identified the problem before I scheduled the service call. The serviceman came to my house checked what I had already told him. He then went to his truck and made some phone calls. He came back and cut two holes in my kitchen ceiling looking for a non existent valve. He then charged me over four hundred dollars with a promise to charge me several hundred dollars more to continue his search for another non existent valve on a future service call.
He left me with two holes in my kitchen ceiling and no resolution of the problem. Only a promise for more of the same should I schedule another service call.

Needed yearly flushing of my tankless hot water heater. Wonderful gentleman did it last year, moderate price, great service. This year over 50% higher cost, staff was rude, told them to leave, no service provided, but still had to pay the $59.00 ""show up fee."" Felt completely mistreated and ripped off. Could never recommend this company.

I wish I could give a 5 star review, as the employees that actually completed the work did an outstanding job. They were both kind and courteous to not only us, but our home and pets as well. This poor review has nothing to do with them; rather it has everything to do with the poor communication standards of their office. After the initial deposit, I waited several weeks before I had to call in about scheduling and then was given less then 24 hours to prepare for the first portion of the work. I had expressed at that point my concerns with communication and was promised they would do better. Fast forward several weeks and I again had to call to have the second portion of the work completed. This time, I was allotted ample time to prepare for the work and they were able to complete it in 1 day instead of 2. Now where I live a final inspection is required from the township. Ben Franklin whose business is working on plumbing in this area, completely forgot about this and notified me of this, end of business 2 days after the fact. I tired working with them to get this scheduled and resolved, but there was a clear lack of understanding on their part. In the mean time, I noticed that the drain where the sink goes had been leaking and the sink was still draining poorly. They agreed to have someone come out, but ultimately had to pay another almost $300 on top of the almost 17 grand I payed them to unclog the sink. If they had communicated they were going to charge me for this, I would have just called another company. This is my first time dealing with them and most likely will be my last.

Extremely unsatisfied. Quote included many things they didn't even do yet we're glad to take the insurance money for. Extremely over exaggerated the amount of work they were going to have to do which caused a lot of confusion. After paying them their 1/3 down payment to start the work we spent 3 weeks trying to get ahold of someone to start the work with many promises to recieve a call back only for them to push it back after finally getting a date again anyway. They left multiple pieces of pipe in my garden and chunks of drywall in my bathroom. After coming in to see the work that was done there was extremely rough sharp edges of the ceramic tile left exposed which the workers were told by carmen (I assume the project manager since that's who all conversation went through) that it had to be a safe break, taped down, or sanded because I have a toddler in the house, who now cries every time he has to leave his bedroom that his feet are hurting from walking on the floor. After complaining to Carmen about rough edges he sent someone out to fix the rough tile edges and said it was unacceptable for it to be left like that. The person who came out then just continuously argued that he was essentially not going to fix it because that ""wasn't in the contract"" . I will not ever recommend them or use them for anything in the future.

Be warned!! It doesn't come as a surprise that there are so many negative reviews here. I never write a Yelp review unless service is impeccable or truly a horrible experience. This is one I could not ignore. The only thing I can give this company was they were prompt and came within a few hours from calling them. From then it was lies, deception and took over a month to fix the issue- a simple stem repair for the faucet.

I will take this as a lesson learned. Find a plumber you can trust. Everyone is business to make money, as they should. But there is a fine line with simply taking advantage and overcharging you an exorbitant price, because they feel they can. Not a great business model.

Absolute nightmare, ripoff, liars! Scumbags work for insurance company. Tried to beat my mom. Haha. Still got mold! Claim still open!!! Were paid till June!! You refuse to help??? Terrible!! These guys suck! Saw my military pics and awards and gives me 4.7% off 3,099 bill? Then send a letter asking for proof? I have a 7.62 bullet lodged in me, titanium from a broken neck!! You really that much of scum??

Ben Franklin has always been my ""go to"" plumbing company. Price was always excellent. All of their plumbers have been very professional, knowledgable and their work has been excellent. I must however take extreme exception to Ben Franklin's ever increasing price structure. After being charged an exorbitant amount a few months ago for a simple outdoor hose valve replacement I swore to never use them again BUT, I wrote that off as a fluke and decided to give them another chance when I discovered a leaking hot water tank. I was expecting a 40 gallon, power vent hot water heater to cost just under $1000 to maybe $1400 on the high side. Instead, I was floored when told that it would cost me over $2300. I was kinda of stuck between a rock and a hard place as I needed hot water ASAP so I very reluctantly accepted. Again, this was not the plumber's fault as the company has a ""set"" price structure and the plumber was very friendly and professional. I will NOT be using Ben Franklin again and sadly can no longer recommend them to family and friends.

The company was very prompt in responding to the concern, but prices are exorbitant. Just for 30-45 min job cost me around $700-$800. I'm glad they came out, being a first time homeowner I was scared so I just went with whatever it may cost. After a quick research later, I found out the job could've been done for below $250. Anyway, the service guy was great. He showed up on time and had good knowledge. The service guy forgot to do a piece of the work, but the company was very attentive to our needs and got the problem fixed during a second visit.

I have used Ben Franklin Plumbing for the past several years and have always had a pleasant experience. I love GT, John and Colleen. I had a very bad experience yesterday that is causing me to cancel my membership for both BP and One Hour HVAC. I was discussing pricing with the foreman Mike after getting a quote for repair work from the plumber that seemed very high. Without getting into the details of the discussion, I can say I never raised my voice once and spoke calmly and rationally the entire time. The call ended abruptly when he said that this call was finished and hung up on me. This is not how you treat customers. It's a crime that one person can ruin a great relationship with one unprofessional, cowardly act.

The absolute worst. We are having a garbage disposal replaced and they were trying to charge us $500, when the unit itself costs $99 and only required one hour of labor. When questioned about the ridiculous rate they waived the ""service fee"" (what are the other fees if not service fees?) and gave a 10% discounts, bring the total to $396. I called and spoke with Kevin, the owner, who is beyond arrogant and feels perfectly justified in what he's doing - it's just the price of doing business, he says (he likened it to paying for a stay at a 5 start hotel). I will say that the plumber who was here - GT - was great. I don't blame him at all as he does not set the pricing, but as good as he was I will never invite this company back into my home.
