Josh and his helper came out and started to replace our water heater and ran into huge problems. They had to order a part so they got the new water heater working as we awaited the part.
Part arrived and Josh came out and got our heater and water heater back online.
Josh is knowledgeable and able to adapt, overcome and improvise. He refused to do any unsafe thing or cut corners.
I will hire them again.
I wish I didn't have to give Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Kingman any stars. I am so fed up with being harassed by them. I used their service one time in the past. Since December, I have received 35 phone calls from them. I have told them on numerous occasions to stop calling me. Tammy called awhile back. I asked her to please take me out of their system. She assured me she would. Today, I got yet another phone call from them. Not only that, it was the same Tammy that I spoke with the last time. I immediately called them back, Erin answered the phone. I advised her how fed up I am with their continuous harassing phone calls. Erin says she is one of their supervisors. I asked her to remove me from their records. She says there is no way to remove me entirely from their system? I asked if she thought 35 calls since December was a little excessive? Her response???? ""Well, technically, we can call you once a day!"" Are you frigging kidding me? A company has nothing better to do than to call a past customer that has no desires to use their service again?!??! Do not give this company your phone number!
I scheduled an appointment for a pressure test to get a greenlight for the city.
Benjamin Franklin's quoted me $69 for a pressure test.
The service tech came out and after fumbling around realized he didn't have the right parts and had to run out and buy a gauge to do the job.
After how ever long he came back and tried installing the gauge but couldn't get the connection to stop leaking.
How could he correctly pressure test my house if he was leaking pressure on his side, IDK.
But he began to go up in my attic and crawl around testing the fittings for leaks.
He later comes down and tells me he found a total of 7 leaks at all the fittings.
He then pulls out a book of prices and tells me I now owe him $659.99 for a leak test.
He told me he was supposed to tell me this and have me sign and agree to the terms before he did the work.
At this point he has quoted me $4000 worth of repairs and says they will subtract the $659.99 off of the job price if I decide to have it done.
After saying I was originally quoted $69 which soon jumped up to $659.99 which then jumped up to $4000 I was skeptical.
But I am a disabled retired Veteran and the winter is upon us and I need to have heat to survive.
So I paid the crazy high price just to get some heat and start the job.
I thought he was going to do the work that day, since I just paid him.
But he then tells me that No, he will have to come back and do it another day.
A week goes by..
And I've never heard back from the company or the technician.
I call and get no answer.
I call again and get a receptionist who tells me all managers are in a meeting.
I tell her my concerns and she says she will have someone reach out to me.
7 days later.
No phone call from either the Technician or the Corporation.
I was scammed out of $600 for a 30 min job and even the management is avoiding the situation.
I will file a claim with the BBB because if this is how they would treat a Disabled Veteran so close to Winter, leaving them with no Heat, no Answers and clearly no Compasssion.
Then this company does not deserve anyone's business.
Avoid this company at all cost.
They are very unprofessional with there write ups and quotes, lacking many key specifics which had my home warranty company asking questions, that I couldn't answer.
No measurements were taken, the job was quoted off of quess work
Poor communication
Poor Follow up
High Prices
Poor Business Ethics
Lack Of Respect
ONE OUT OF FIVE STARS
Marge O.We had a so-called FREE safety inspection and it cost us $380 and left us with a mess! The plumber turned the shutoff valve under one bathroom sink and said that it needed to be replaced. Then he proceeded to turn the other shut-off valve under a second sink. Water started spraying all over the cabinet contents, and he told us that it needed to be replaced, also. At this point, he went to grab a bucket from his truck and shut off the water at the main shut-off valve as I was trying to contain the water that was getting all over the items under my sink and remove them at the same time. I would have happily taken these items out prior to him overly turning the pipe - but instead I was left with a wet mess! We have NEVER had a problem with any leaks prior to him turning that knob. He replaced the angle stop shut off valve under each sink, and then gave us a bill of $380 to replace these valves. (And that was with a veteran's discount) The part is available at Home Depot for less than $10. And it took approximately 15 minutes to replace the valves. Then, this past weekend, my son, who is a maintenance mechanic, looked over the parts that were removed and noticed that there was nothing wrong with one of the valves! I contacted Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Kingman directly on their website, but have not received any reply. What a ripoff!
These guys have no clue what they are doing. Had a problem with a septic line at my rental home. They snaked it, charge me 1K and told me it was fixed. A month later same problem. They came back out. Said it wasn't covered under warranty because it was a new problem. Broken seal on the toilet this time. They charged me another $1K to fix it and clear it again. A month later.... same problem. This time I went to a different plumber. He identified a break in the line. Fixed it, and charged me $600. Tried to contact BF Management with my complaint that they never corrected the problem. They never returned my calls.
Funny thing, they still telemarket me after telling them the story and telling them to put me on their DO NOT CALL list. Never any apology. They just called again, which is what prompted me to write this review.
Do not use Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Kingman AZ if you have a septic problem. They are incompetent.
This is one of the most expensive company that pre-sets the prices for their plumbers who are employees. Some are better then others. Arron and Austin were efficient, did clean up and go the extra distance and were very polite.
Don't use this company. I was exposed to a gas leak with my new water heater they installed for five months. I had no idea there was a leak I was sick all the time and my grand daughter opened the door to the water heater in my small home and told me that it stinks. The plumber lied about replacing all valves and did not check for gas leaks. I'm a 65 year old female that trusted this company. They did fix it replaced all the parts I had already paid for five months earlier. I have repeatedly called and emailed the owner. I have still not gotten a response from him. I could have died from the gas leak exposure.
My grandmother had sewage water backing up into the house (laundry room and bathtub drains) from a clogged pipe. This happened around 8 pm. I called Ben Franklin Plumbing (BFP) in Kingman and they said they'd be there first thing in the morning, around 9 am. At 9 am, I called to find out when they would arrive and they said between 9-11 am. At 11 am I called and they said before noon. At noon (now 16 hours without water/toilet) and no plumber, I called to cancel my service request. I called another plumber and he showed up within 30 minutes! A little after 1:00 pm, the plumber from BFP shows up. His company never told him that I had cancelled the service request! So I cannot rate BFP on their actual plumbing expertise, but their internal and external communications are terrible.
Kris E.Our septic tank was backing up the toilets at our home on Pinion Pines. I called several pumbing companies in Kingman. No one had any availability to come up. One company offered to come up that evening but for time and a half. I called Benjamin Franklin and was told they would be able to come that afternoon. What a relief! Eric Campbell was our technician and he was so nice. He snaked our clean out and made our problem go away. He was very informative and helpful. He recomended we purchase insurance for future issues. My husband is a retired police officer and he also signed us up for the Heroes program. It helped us save money and they will check your system for no charge. I'm so glad I called Benjamin Franklin and absolutely would recommend that to everyone we know!
Craig S.Eric came to our house on time an unclog our main sewage line, No hesitation on the work he done, I highly recommend Eric with his knowledge an performance. I will call him back thank you
