Tom was very knowledgeable. The quality of the items installed were top notch. We had no trouble getting them out to our new home.
way over-priced! $500.00 to clean 1 drain and it's 7' of pipe to the main. never again!
Kelly W.Awesome!!!! Caleb was so kind to my grandmother and her multiple needs, including talking to her on a Sunday and putting her fears at ease- great guy and good reliable company!!!
Kevin B.Nope. Never. Dude that showed was a jerk, did nothing and charged way to much for nothing.
Benjamin Franklin installed a water filtration system in our house. Jesse L arrived within the time window, promptly installed the system and explained how it works. We are pleased with the service and the product and will not hesitate to call Benjamin Franklin (Northfield) again in the future.
I would never recommend them. We contacted them for emergency services with a plugged drain and flooded basement. They quoted us 500$ an unreasonable price but at the moment we were desperate and decided to go ahead with it. We thought they were on there way when we were contacted by a lady from Benjamin franklin on the phone who was swearing at us and telling us that we said we weren't going to pay them when we never said anything like that, she was so disrespectful and gave such poor customer service and was harassing us that I hung up with on her, I was so upset and we didn't get our plumbing resolved that night just left me in an uncomfortable feeling because they had our credit card information up front. I did my research that night and we got a new plumber lined up that night that came out first thing in the morning and fixed our plumbing for $175 and didn't ask for credit card info up front and wasn't rude from the start and didn't call us up harassing us, the plumber that came out to us was wonderful, No Thanks to Benjamin Franklin I would never recommend this plumbing service the worst customer service ever customers do not come first in there book, only over charging people is all they want to do because they think there the only plumbers out there. There wrong there is plenty of other plumbers out there.
Amy F.Called Friday evening with a clogged kitchen sink, saying it did not need to be fixed that night, but could wait till Saturday. It's Monday afternoon and am still waiting for a call setting up appointment time. Good news is we didn't spend all the money for the repair, but bought a 20 foot snake Saturday morning for $10 and worked on it ourselves.
E S.Very expensive and still had to hire another person to finish the job, due to the high cost of their services/products. For what we paid they did nothing but take debris out of a drain (Over $400.00). Won't be hiring again. They charge to just arrive at your site, then everything they look at (literally) they charge for.
I was charged approximately $2700 for water heater installation, which included the water heater, ball valve installation ($150), and city permit ($84). Post installation, I was hearing from family and friends that I paid way too much. I then compared prices of water heater installations costs from some certified plumbers around the metro (mostly South metro), including Rochester, MN. As I am sure you are aware of, they all have something good to say about the different water heaters they install and the service they provide. Otherwise, they'd be bad salesmen, you know? I was pricing 50 gallon power vent natural gas water heaters, which was installed at my residence. Benjamin Franklin appears to be on the higher end of things, to say the least. Hi-Mec even offered to come out from Rochester with their water heater of choice, Rheem, for $1700 (including the extra trip charge added for the distance). It was interesting to see that there are water heaters that come with 9 or 12 year warranties that are half the price of the American with the 6 year warranty Benjamin Franklin installed. In regards to the installation of the ball valve which I needed (which for itself, I understand paying for), why charge me again for installation when installation was included already with everything else? If they are competing against other local plumbers to grow their business, it doesn't seem like that kind of stuff works in their long-term favor, and if it has been, is it really the right thing to do? In the end, it is evident that despite good construction of any water heater, more often than not they still seem to be prone to issues involving lack of regular maintenance and hard water. Despite the owner's pleasing effort and attitude during the installation, when I followed up with the owner of this particular franchise regarding issues I had with pricing, the owner was rude. It appears that Benjamin Franklin is not the best option for your plumbing issues, in particular for water heater problems.
Ben Franklin did an amazing job fixing our entire sewer line on relatively short notice. They were great at getting back to our initial phone call, matching their estimate, preparing us for any possible mishaps, and sticking to their promised timeline. They may be a bit pricier than some others but it is well worth it.
