I couldn't get a plumber out during my appointment window, which was 14 hours long. They couldn't get anyone out until it had been 24 hours since my appointment window had started! This was unacceptable, and being told over and over again after the window had passed that I was next and someone would be calling in a matter of minutes was simply infuriating, especially when they finally did have someone ready, more than six hours after the last reassurance that I'd be next in line for any plumber.

My 94 year mother received a phone call to service her year old water heater before the warranty ran out, which we thought was nice. The serviceman came upstairs with a part he said he took off that was bad and needed to be replaced. On a year old water heater??? It was working fine before. Charged her several hundred dollars. He left, came back and said he wasn't sure he turned it back on. Really? Later when she needed hot water-none! She called back. Answering place is in Arizona?? Sent someone else out and didn't finish until 11:00 p.m. She was totally taken advantage of and the service was terrible.

Pilot light on hot water heater will not stay lit. Called at 7:30am Friday morning , was given a guaranteed appointment between 2-5pm for same day, at 4:45 they called and said plumber would be after 5pm. At 8:00pm he showed up, $49 to come in the door, and $169 to tell me what is wrong. So at 8:30pm what else can you do? You might as well hold a gun to my head. This is a total rip off and a bad company to treat people like this. I will never use them again and tell everyone I know of how bad my experience was. Oh, and the guarantee appointment means nothing, because if they call you and tell you that they are going to be late, in their opinion it gets them off the hook for not getting there as promised. So based on the fact they called you they don't have to honor their on time guarantee. What a joke and a rip off.

Drew came out to my home today for a health and safety inspection and found the bottom of my water heater to be rusting out. He had a camera that allowed us to see the inside of the water heater and see the rust. Because of him and the wonderful service Benjamin Franklin plumbing provided i was able to avoid having a leaking water heater and damage to my home. Drew was very professional and friendly. I would give him and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing 9 out of 10!!!!

These guys are a RIP OFF! My 93 y/o mother bought a 'service contract' with the purchase of her new water heater. She called them for service, just to check on things, before the contract expired. When the technician came to check on plumbing and electrical, per the contract, he checked the 3 gfi's in the home and replaced 3 smoke detectors for a sweet charge of $600. The guy had to seriously LOOK for something to bill her for. $600 for 3 smoke detectors is a RIP OFF!.Preying on the elderly should be a crime.

Way overpriced. They quote $384 + $29 service call to do what other companies do for less than $100. I will never use them again. Big rip-off.

Doing a kitchen remodel and the electrician (provided by Home Depot) managed to cut a pipe and caused a massive flood into the walls. (btw the electrician didn't tell us and instead shut the water off and said the vibrations were causing a pipe to leak). Ben from this company was here within 10 minutes of our call. He did a good job and was even patient with my talkative 6 year old! Pipe was replaced and he even cleaned up what the electrician left behind. I would definitely call and use this particular plumber (Ben) again.

Charged us over $500 for a low end 1/2HP garbage disposal. That included installation. That adds up to charging over $400 just for installation. Way overpriced. Go somewhere else.

I will never use Benjamin Franklin again and I suggest you think twice before contacting them. I have used them in the past and received good service, however, this last round was terrible, so much so that I will never contact them again.

My husband and I were on vacation when a pipe burst in the crawl space (Aug 10). We contacted Benjamin Franklin immediately and they were able to help. They quoted us for $7400 as there would be excavation work involved. We felt we had no other choice, so we confirmed via phone to move forward with the work. When the work was completed, they reduced the quote as they did not have to go through concrete (Aug 11). The total bill, $6600. We informed Benjamin Franklin that we were on vacation and would return that weekend to pay. That was not what they wanted to hear and was unacceptable. There was no reason for my husband and I to finance as we had the money, but it was not immediately available. We received numerous phone calls stating we had to pay. Within 24 hour of completing the project we paid in full and never did receive a receipt (silly on our end, yes, I now know).

Upon our return from vacation, I was EXTREMELY dissatisfied! Our yard was completely distroyed. I understand, excavating the yard was necessary, but the way it was left is an embarrassment. The edging was thrown on the grass, the grass is non-existent anymore and what was left was shoveled on a mound and all over our rocks.

I waited for a few days for an invoice, but it never came. I then contacted Benjamin Franklin on Aug 21 inquiring about the situation and to request an invoice. I was told I would receive a phone call from a manager within 1-2 business days. I waited until the afternoon of Aug 25, before calling again. When I called, the receptionist stated they had a managers meeting and discussed my concerns, so a manager would follow up shortly. I also stated I still had not received an invoice for insurance purposes. I had to follow up the next day because I did not recieve the invoice via email. A day later, I finally received a blanket invoice that listed $6600, I asked for a breakdown of costs and the lady informed me a service manager would follow up.

Again, no contact. Finally, on September 3, I called for the 4th time. Repeated my situation to another person who said a manager would respond within 1-2 days. She at least was able to email me a receipt that had information included. She is clearly the most competent! It is now Sept 9 and STILL no call from anyone. 19 days, 4 phone calls, and 3 emails...The guy sure had no problem contacting me while I was on vacation demanding payment...I'm exhausted and it is clear to me that Benjamin Franklin took advantage of me and my family. They received their $6600, so they seem to think they do not need to provide any more customer serivce.

Hard lesson learned on my end, I just hope to help others from making the same mistake.

Will NEVER EVER use again. They came out one day to unstop toilet. Charged $180. They told us to call if there was a problem. The toilet clogged with first flush after he walked out the door. We called and they came out next day and charged us over $100 for that visit. We asked the supervisor to call us to discuss. He never called back. Checks were cashed the very next day. Beware of this business!!!!!!
