Technician looked at water heater and breaker box and told me I needed a water heater and water filtration system. Quoted $5700. Never touched or tested either the water heater or breaker box - looked at the wrong breaker box. Turned out it was a simple electrical problem- fixed for $1000. Unimpressed.

Everytime I have called, they were there. Everyone who answered the call did a great job. Professional, polite, respectful. I heartliy recommend.

We had a leak in the master drain of one of our vacation rental properties. I called Ben Franklin and set up a service call for 4/24/19. They came out and quoted me 2 price options to fix the problem. Option 1 $5000 to tear out shower pan , fix crack in drain, install new drain pan but it did not include repairing tile. Option 2, $1020 for replacing cracked drain form inside of sub floor. I opted of #2 and signed a contract. It said nothing about aborting the job and charging a $620 labor fee to then tell me that they could not fix the problem. Keep in mind that the service guy evaluated the problem first before he gave me a quote. If he was not sure whether or not he could make the repair, he should have mentioned this as option #3. I also spoke with the manager after the service guy left. He defended the companies dishonest ways of doing business.Just a Crooked way to do business. Never, Never, Never again will this company be called to one of our properties.

Steve was the BEST!!!! So professional and so knowledgeable. I would recommend him and this company for ALL WORK that they provide. But, especially Steve..............

I decided to not work with Ben Franklin plumbing. The people that I talked with were very knowledgeable and polite but I thought the price they quoted me for the work I was asking for was way out of bounds.

Good plumbing work, same day service, and very expensive. Needed a new shower valve, since handle broke off, and I had to turn the house water off until fixed. They came the same day, about 5 hours after I called. The plumber put in a much better valve, and we were able to turn the water back on. They came on time, did a good job, and cost a lot (about 3x what I expected). But we had to have it fixed, so....

Awful, the technician came out to """"analyze"""" the alarm on my sewer oump. He spent 15 of the 20 minutes he was here writing a quote for $6500 and left without fixing anything. I pulled the pump and found a wash cloth in the pump impeller. Cleaned it myself and had it back together in 45 minutes...in the dark...because I wasted daylight for his """"analysis"""". Told me (and my 3 girls and wife), couldn't use the toilets, showers, etc. and I needed to make a decision right now to get on the schedule for tomorrow.

I would give ZERO stars if I could. Requested a camera inspection of our home we just bought and install of a clean out and most likely cleaning of lines. Got shifted between two """"referral"""" businesses I'm now assuming who both quoted me no more than $200 for the work I clearly wanted. Camera inspection and cleaning. A tech came out and spent an hour walking around and not actually inspecting anything and gave 4 ridiculous quotes over $30k saying we should replace ALL our water lines when NOTHING is wrong with them and are updated PVC. The house is only 924sf!!! Are you rebuilding the entire house for $30k?! He never did a camera scope inspection and wouldn't go under the house to check anything and even couldn't locate the water main shut off. I was distracted with a roofer at the time and the tech suckered my husband into paying $89 for the service call without my knowledge. For what?!? For 4 overpriced and ridiculous quotes?! He didn't do the camera inspection which is ALL I wanted and what I requested 3 times in the multiple phone calls. I have called the office to complain and waiting for a manager to call back. Do NOT get suckered into using this company!!! Their pricing is OUTRAGEOUS!!! To relocate a water heater outside he quoted $3k!!! Not to replace just to relocate!!! To hydrojet (to clean) the lines was close to $2k! I'm also beyond irritated that I was filtered two obvious referral companies who gave quotes. How are they still in business?!

I am not inclined to post negative reviews online, but this company's misconduct against me is so egregious that I cannot remain silent and am compelled to warn others. Moreover, I attempted to contact them by letter to their main corporate office of record, but the postal service returned my correspondence as undeliverable. I contacted them through their LinkedIn page, but I have not received a reply after two months. This past August, my water main between the meter and the house sprung a leak. A plumber from Ben Franklin provided a quote of $5.4K, which I agreed to. This was predicated on their representation that a new PEX line would replace the existing PVC line. This would require them to trench through the yard with extensive roots from a large oak tree and cut through the concrete driveway. I signed the agreement and provided my credit card information. On a subsequent morning, two immigrant workers from Ben Franklin arrived to perform the work. They handed me a tablet and insisted that I sign a statement that the work had been completed to my satisfaction. I initially stated that I would not do so because the work had not started, but they insisted I sign before they could begin working. Believing that I was dealing with a reputable company, thinking that the workers were confused and limited in their understanding of English, and needing to get the problem fixed ASAP, I signed the tablet. One of the workers began digging through the lawn with a round-point shovel. I had expected that they would have had a mechanical trencher. I expressed my concern that it would be very difficult and time-consuming to dig the trench in that manner. The worker advised that he was marking the path of the trench and would switch to using a trenching shovel to do the digging. A short time later, I noticed that the worker was digging the trench with the round-point shovel. He told me that there was no trenching shovel on the truck. I own a trenching shovel, which I allowed him to use. As he struggled to slowly dig through the roots, the other worker was busy uncovering the connections to the meter and house. After about an hour, one of the workers had an epiphany. The PEX line they were installing was ¾ inches, and the existing PVC line was 1 inch, so they could simply snake the PEX through the PVC and avoid digging the trench. I questioned whether that was proper, and I was advised that they checked with the plumber, who said that was the best way to go. I complained that because the scope of the work changed, I should not have to pay $5.4K. They called the office with my complaint, and the response was that I had signed the agreement and that they would not lower the cost. The workers needed a torch to connect the new line to the house's copper tubing. Unbelievably, the truck did not have a working torch. Fortunately, I had a working torch that I allowed them to use. Eliminating the time spent futilely digging and then refilling the trench, I generously estimate that the job required 1.5 manhours and $250 in materials. As the workers were sent out ill-equipped to do the job as initially planned, I concluded that the plumber knew that this was a simple job--I was scammed. I would recommend that you stay away from this company.

Jorel T and Jeremiah T. were extremely professional, polite and informative. They spoke to me about everything they were doing and verified the work that needed to be done before it was started and let me know when each thing was complete. I appreciated that because I did have a few questions about some tasks before they were started and they had no problems answering them. I was extremely pleased with their work today. Thank you for sending them to my home to complete the work. -Diana G.
