In response to the manager and the inflated quote. I did not need a new garbage disposal as the one I had was less than a year old. I do have the sink I installed now and the cost was far less than what you wanted and it all works perfectly.

This company trying to charge a family 1500.00 dollars for a 500.00 job. Shame on them.

I discovered a wet floor, outside of my son's bathroom, on Wednesday evening. We contacted Ben Franklin Plumbing, and they sent out a technician the next day. The gentleman that came was Scott Blackburn. He told me that I had a toilet leak and that he performed a hydrostatic test and found that I also had a slab leak and the cost to repair it was over $10,000.00. My husband was out of town, and desperate to get this problem fixed, I agreed to the repair. Scott had me sign a bunch of paper work and told me that the repair would start the next afternoon (Friday), but that they did not work on Saturday & Sunday, so they would finish on Monday and Tuesday. I was off on the day he came, but had to request Friday afternoon & Monday off, from work, so that I could be here when they came. I came home on Friday and got busy doing things, around my house. All of a sudden, I realized it was 4:00pm, and no one had come. I texted Scott and he called me and told me that they guys had run longer than expected on their other job, so that no one was able to come until Monday. Needless to say, I was very upset...STRIKE ONE. During the four days, I had to wait, my wood floors, stayed wet and my vanity was absorbing the water and started to peel. I also had to turn the water connection, to my house, on/off to take showers, etc. Finally Monday morning arrived. I had two very nice and professional gentlemen come: Carlos & Juan. I asked if they could possibly start with fixing the toilet in my son's bathroom, to eliminate further damage to my floor and vanity. I explained to them that that was the only area that had any water damage and that Scott had told me that the toilet had a leak. I told them I was a bit surprised that it wasn't fixed on Thursday when he was here, and they seemed surprised as well. They spoke in Spanish to each other and couldn't believe that it was left like that. I continued to get upset, but did not say anything to them. A few minutes later, Carlos told me that because of what I had told him about the bathroom leak, he checked the meter for a while, after turning off the flow to the toilet, and found that the meter did not move, which was confusing to him, because if there was a slab leak, it would have moved. Therefore, he had Scott come back out to perform the hydrostatic test again. GUESS WHAT? It was negative...NO LEAK...STRIKE TWO. However, Scott continued to try to get me to re-pipe the house, since they were already there. I expressed that I just wanted the toilet leak fixed and that I was very upset, because I trusted him and he left me with a leak and thinking I needed to spend over 10K. He told me that """"everyone makes mistakes and that he wasn't perfect""""...STRIKE THREE!!! It is such a shame, that I wasn't able to just use Carlos & Juan. They were very professional and HONEST gentlemen. They were sent away, before I had a chance to thank them. Scott ended up fixing the toilet...it took a whole 30 minutes...GUESS what, my floor is now dry, however it is damaged. If Scott would have done his job on Thursday, we could have avoided any additional damage to my floor and vanity. The toilet was repaired at no charge, but that does not make up for the frustration, and additional damage, that Scott's negligence caused. The rest of BFP may be great, but I will NEVER do business with them and I would definitely get a second opinion if you do use them and they tell you that you need a 10K pipe replacement.

I've had a type of service contract with Ben Franklin for several years and yesterday morning (8/14/19) I needed information on charges for a water softner. The only number listed is for appointment setters and they know nothing about the service contract, what specific items are covered with the agreement all they can do is set an appointment. I have a service that adds salt and flushes the system and wanted to compare their price with Ben Franklin who I have this service contract with to see if there would be some discounts. Simple enough but not. They have NO customer service department, no one to talk to and today I was told it takes 48 hours to get someone to call me back. No one mentioned that on the original call. I am sick of being treated with total indifference by so many companies and the fact I've had this agreement with them shows I should be a valued customer. Don't bother trying to deal with them. Their phone staff is not capable of handling any questions and if it's really important you are at their mercy to hear, someone has to come out and give you the prices. I wanted to compare. I didn't want someone coming out and I wanted someone to call me back the same day. I cancelled my service agreement and will find someone who cares about my business.

Wish there were an option for no stars!!! Pretty upset with my self first and second with this very deceitful company. By the way I believe 1 hour air conditioning and ben Franklin are partners if I'm not mistaken. I'm upset with myself for not seeing the clear signs of a hustle when it was presented earlier. I own a home in Tampa that was built four years ago (second owners), meaning most of the things in it are nearly new. This company's stickers and magnets were left behind by the original owners. We assumed that this company was legit and had installed all the new features. We had no reason to research other companies, boy we should of. Since owning we have called them out a few times for seemly small things such as running toilets and leaky sinks. Prices for these repairs were average from my experience. The first tech that came to my home said they offered a veterans service program to maintain plumbing in the home. They said that all the services were discounted and we would benefit from having scheduled visits. We bit and signed up. A few months ago we had situation with our water heater. The situation was upon leaving to work and walking thru the garage I notice a good amount of water on the floor surrounding the tank, appropriately a gallon. I called this company they came out that day and quoted $800 for a brand new water heater. We paid, they installed and we were satisfied. Tuesday of this week Benny Franklin came to my home for their scheduled service. The technician (Cory) did a water test and said our 4 year old water softener was not working, it could not be repaired and quoted us 6k for a replacement unit. Funny because I hadn't noticed anything wrong with the water. Being that I don't have a money tree, we did what most people would and called someone else for a visit/quote. Had advanced water treatment specialists come out to take a look. The company came to my home today. First thing they said when they entered my garage was your system does not need replacement. He tested the water and said that it is softening and filtering water just fine. He cycled the system and explained to me in great detail how the system actually worked. Bottom line this company tried to swindle me (a veteran) out of money that I fed my family with. You can kiss my ass, and I'll be canceling your veterans package bullshit tomorrow.

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing's work is fine. However, their prices are way, way too high. I found out, after getting a second quote on an estimate they gave, why their prices are so high: their plumbers work on commission. As a result, they have a strong incentive to screw customers. To give an illustration, they came out to fix a problem and gave me a quote that it would cost $9,000 to replace some pipes. They started lowering that price when I said it sounded too high and that I wanted a second estimate. They dropped the price by almost $2,000 just because I wanted a second estimate. I'm not surprised that they did drop the price because the second estimate to do the same job was $3,800, or less than half their original quote. Their work may be okay quality, but you are paying at least double what you should if you go with them. I'd stay away.

If only I could put a -3 stars in here! I requested someone to replace three flappers in my toilets. I also needed a snake in my shower. A fellow came out and he snaked my shower and refused to put flappers in my toilets! He tried to convince me to buy three new toilets at approximately $700. per toilet I'm an elderly woman I don't look like I was born yesterday but he must've been confused! I am well aware that you can replace the flapper and that you don't have to replace the entire toilet. Today I went out and bought three flappers for $12. My neighbor replace them for me. Thank heavens for the kindness of folks. My husband has all Psimer's and the people at Benjamin Franklin plumbing should be ashamed of themselves!

Do not use this company! I called on a Sat for warranty coverage for my leaking hot water heater. I was told that there were no appointments available until Monday. On Monday at noon I called and was told that I was next in line. At 4pm they called and said that they would be here sometime after 5pm. When they showed up at 6pm, they did not have any parts on the truck because they were busy all day with non-warranty calls. It seems that all warranty calls are done last. Nice way to treat loyal customers! At 8:30pm, the part was replaced and they charged me a $69 fee which was $20 higher than my original contract. Stay away, far away!

Their advertisement is blatant bait and switch, illegal in NC. You can't offer a service for $99 and then add a charge of $49 to send out a truck.

BF came down to fix a water heater, the type they claim to be specialized in, and had no idea. Quoted me for a new system and charged their standard $79 fee for doing basically nothing. Located the defective part ($10 online) and fixed it myself in 3 minutes. If I had googled a little more, I could have saved me a lot of money. I will never use this company again :(
