I chose BFP because I know and use their sister company, """"Scott's One Hour Air"""" and truly believe they have the hands down best quality and service I have ever encountered (and I have been taken advantage of by other companies in the past, so I know the difference). Now, using BFP too, once again I am 100% confident I made the absolute best and right choice! The service is above and beyond, and piece of mind in using someone I trust in and with my home is priceless! A special thanks to Anthony Newton of Tampa for being our """"BFP Guru"""" and literally saving our home! ;) For the rest of Florida, I also highly recommend their water filter installation- adding value and better health benefits to your home is worth every penny. Thank you Team BFP and best wishes to all from Clarissa, Mitch and Ziggy the Pug of South Tampa :)

Needed residential toilet fixed/replaced. I received a coupon for $49.00 off the cost of a service call with any repair. I called and asked for a ballpark repair/replace cost, they said every job is different, that they'd send a technician who would scope it out an present an estimate. I agreed. The technician was on-time and recommended replacement, I agreed. When asked about cost, he stated they have a popular model that runs $720, plus installation. I stated that I needed something in the """"coupla hundred"""" range, he replied that """"I won't get that from this company"""". I asked what their least expensive toilet ran, he replied just over $600, plus installation. Knowing I could purchase a good-quality toilet elsewhere for under $300, I thanked him for his time (he literally spent about 5 minutes at my residence). He requested $50.00 for the service call. I mentioned the coupon and he stated (accurately) that it applies only with a repair. I stated I would not pay the $50.00 fee. As he left, walking towards the truck, he stated over his shoulder that he would now """"have to call the cops"""" (not """"law enforcement"""", not """"the police"""", not """"the authorities""""). When I asked why, he stated """"breach of contact"""". I told him to call whomever he pleased. This may be an isolated incident, but it appears that the company may (1) refuse to provide a verbal estimate (I can understand that, but other companies are glad to), (2) price their toilets at about double what others sell them for, (3) collect the $50.00 service fee when repairs are declined (4) make threats of bringing the matter to the attention of the authorities.

I had a water leak in our guest bathroom and we called Ben Franklin Plumbing to look at it. They were able to dispatch a technician in a hurry. Our tech was Erick Young and he quickly identified the problem as a bad wax ring on the toilet. In the process, several other issues were discovered and quickly resolved. The work was well done and Erick was very professional in his explanations of work needed. The bill was not cheap, but the floor is now dry. I would recommend them and Mr. Young in particular.

Plumber was efficient, knowledgeable, but exorbitant price. Some discussion then installation under sink water filter, 10 minute job, I supplied filter. Charged $465. Gave comment on shower problem but did not repair. Would never use this company again.

I'm writing to comment on my previous post as I wasn't able to delete or change it. My job has been finished and the job went ok I can't give them 5 stars but I'm giving them 3 stars. They had a problem with a employee in my first review and since then they have corrected that issue. With that being said the next crew that came did a great job and gave it a 100% to get the job done. They have corrected the billing issue and adjusted my bill to not reflect work that wasn't performed not being billed. I would now recommend them for your job.

I can only give a 2. I cannot recommend to any one at Esplande Tampa . Put good parts on, did a good job doing this. Nice guy. But kind of flim flamy on charges and service charges. Office says one thing etc. They look to much at a few quick bucks than all the new business a 3 or 4 can bring. In my humble opinions . I guess that's why they only have a 2 star.

I was refused service because my property I wanted serviced is not my primary residence. I was discriminated against for having a rental property. On January 25, 2018 at 2:30 p.m., I went to the Benjamin Franklin location at 5808 56th Street N, Tampa, FL 33610. I met with the receptionist and later Scott Wood. I explained that one of the condos that I own in Plant City, Florida had a leak in the bathtub faucet. I showed Scott Wood the photos of the faucet. He said he could schedule an appointment for the following day to have someone come out to service the condo. I provided him and the receptionist with my name, phone number and address. I explained that I would be at the condo and that I was the point of contact. They asked me for the tenants name and phone number as a secondary point of contact, I provided that information, but stressed that I was to be the main point of contact. On January 26, 2018 at 7:00 a.m. I received a call from my tenant. He explained that Kristen, the dispatcher from the Tampa Benjamin Franklin had called to confirm the appointment that morning at 8:00 a.m. I did not receive a phone call from Kristen. I called Kristen at 7:10 a.m. to confirm the appointment. She asked for my name and number. I provided that. She then said that I was not in the system. I explained that I was the property owner and that she had just called my tenant to confirm the appointment. She then became rude and said that Benjamin Franklin does not work with rental properties. I then explained that I went in person to the Tampa Benjamin Franklin office the day before and explained that it was a rental property at the time I made the appointment. I was not told at the time of making the appointment that the company would not service rental properties. I became upset during the call with Kristen because she said that they were doing me a favor by making the appointment to service my plumbing needs. I told her that I felt that was discrimination to refuse service to someone simply because the property was not their primary residence. She said and I quote...""""Well, it isn't my company."""" We ended the call by confirming the 8:00 a.m. appointment. I told her I would be there in person at 8:00 a.m. to meet the plumber. A few minutes later at 7:17 a.m. I received a call from Scott Wood from the Tampa Benjamin Franklin office located at 5808 56th Street N., Tampa, FL 33610. He said he was calling because I seemed to have had a problem with Kristen, his dispatcher. I said, yes, I did have a problem and he should consider firing her due to her lack of customer service. Scott Wood immediately became defense and very rude to me. I explained the entire phone conversation I had with Kristen and why I became upset because she was telling me that the company did not have to service me because the property was a rental property. Scott Wood said to me that he was cancelling my appointment because I was rude to his dispatcher Kristen and that Benjamin Franklin as a company can pick and choose who they service. I told Scott Wood that I believed this was discrimination and that I was going to go to the Tampa office and ask to speak to a manager. He told me that he was the manager and that if I stepped foot on the property, he would have me arrested for trespassing. I then asked for the name of the owner of the company. He refused to provide it to me and told me that I can look it up online. I ended the conversation by stating that I was going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, contact the corporate office, and look into my legal rights as a property owner. He said good, I welcome your complaint and legal action. I am now filing this complaint for refusal of service. I too have a choice of who I do business with and I obviously will not be doing business with Benjamin Franklin.

This weekend we called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing out to one of our properties because something in an upstairs bathroom was leaking through to the downstairs. The plumber said that it was the plug in the bottom of the tub (which had just been replaced) was installed incorrectly (first it was cross threaded, then it wasn't screwed down tight enough). I insisted he was wrong and to keep looking. He refused. He kept repeating, """"I've only been a plumber 18 years"""" (The implication that I'm stupid.) Finally after much arguing and him refusing to look further as well as him (a big man built like an ex football player) stepped into my (a petite woman) personal space in an attempt to intimidate me, it cost nearly $400 to get him to leave having done nothing. Today we went to replace the supposed incorrectly installed plug only to find, surprise of surprises, the plug was in correctly and the leak was coming from the busted PVC elbow on the same line. We have the piece of pipe should anyone want to see it. I expect to get my almost $400 dollars back since the plumber didn't do anything except waste my time. In the end we diagnosed and repaired the plumbing without the aid of a plumber with 18 supposed years of experience. Also, when I stepped away for a moment, the plumber started riling the tenants up that I knew about the leak already and just didn't fix it before they moved in. Perhaps he thought I was deaf as well as dumb?
