Needed residential toilet fixed/replaced. I received a coupon for $49.00 off the cost of a service call with any repair. I called and asked for a ballpark repair/replace cost, they said every job is different, that they'd send a technician who would scope it out an present an estimate. I agreed. The technician was on-time and recommended replacement, I agreed. When asked about cost, he stated they have a popular model that runs $720, plus installation. I stated that I needed something in the """"coupla hundred"""" range, he replied that """"I won't get that from this company"""". I asked what their least expensive toilet ran, he replied just over $600, plus installation. Knowing I could purchase a good-quality toilet elsewhere for under $300, I thanked him for his time (he literally spent about 5 minutes at my residence). He requested $50.00 for the service call. I mentioned the coupon and he stated (accurately) that it applies only with a repair. I stated I would not pay the $50.00 fee. As he left, walking towards the truck, he stated over his shoulder that he would now """"have to call the cops"""" (not """"law enforcement"""", not """"the police"""", not """"the authorities""""). When I asked why, he stated """"breach of contact"""". I told him to call whomever he pleased. This may be an isolated incident, but it appears that the company may (1) refuse to provide a verbal estimate (I can understand that, but other companies are glad to), (2) price their toilets at about double what others sell them for, (3) collect the $50.00 service fee when repairs are declined (4) make threats of bringing the matter to the attention of the authorities.

I was just RIPPED OFF by Ben Franklin Plumbing. I almost fell for the smooth talking salesman who informed me I needed my whole house re-piped for the cost of $7,000!!!When I told my daughter to quickly look at the reviews of BF, I changed my mind! My issue was two toilets constantly running. Then he looked at my water meter outside. Oh you have a leak somewhere, it's not the toilets. When I told him this was a big purchase, and I needed to think about it his whole attitude changed! Ended up charging me $49.00 for standard visit plus fuel surcharge, plus inspect for water leak. Total bill: $172.00. Rip-off! He was definitely mad that he did not make the sale! Never forewarned me there would be extra charges for looking at the water meter and shutting off main faucets to sinks. All the while trying to sell me their maintenance package! Really, a 30% discount on 3 new faucets that would still cost me $1,000?! You can get decent Delta faucets at The Home Depot for $39! I learned my lesson today thanks to my daughter wanting me to look at reviews first! DO NOT use this company!

HORRIBLE!!!!! I highly recommend not using this company! I called them out for a leaky shower pan. They visually inspected it and replaced an outdoor spickit and $455.00 later, they referred me to someone else for my leaky shower. I'm still mad at myself for even paying this outrageous fee. Another plumber finally came to fix my shower and said this is a common story they hear about Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and said they are the most expensive out there.

$430 for a one hour simple pipe splice. What a rip off! The management refuses to call us to talk about the over charge. Keep looking when looking for a plumber....

Echo the other reviews of the worst plumbing service ever encountered. Price gouging, horrible customer service line, and inconsistent work product. Here is the kicker though - they claim to pay you $5 per min they are late. So, the first time they were supposed to arrive between 5-8pm, never show up. I call them up and tell them and they say take it up with the plumber who came out and we got him to honor their pay if late policy. $300 dollars off the bill but since they charge ridiculous prices, it still probably was not as reasonable as another plumber. Plus, the work was sub-standard - I now am waiting for them to come out and fix a leak from the work they did. Regardless, avoid - there are better, more reasonable, more courteous firms out there.

Ben franklin plumbing!!! Save your money and shop around. This company can not provide any information or qoute a ballpark figure with out showing up and charging a $49 service fee. Immediately upon arrival was able to provide the highest estimate of over a $1000 dollars for a new hot water heater with install. Not a good business. You will not get a fair offer. Shop arround and get estimates by phone and avoid paying a service call fee. I new better, but saw a coupon online for up to $500, but was only offed $75 off which still had there service well over $1000. I found a reputable local business to do the job for $775.

I am So Naive! I fell for the charming """"helpful"""" repairmen who kept selling me Plans every year. They never called to come out and do the """"free included service"""" So the whole point of it -no use. Every time they came out it was an upsell for overpriced items and services. All the guys seemed so desperate for a sale - I wonder if they even got paid beyond their sales commission. I would have much preferred to have someone who CARED about doing the best they could. Now I have a real plumber and the come without wanting to sell me more. They do a good job and they cost less. I also fell for the One Hour Air """"sister"""" business. Avoid these guys like the plaque.

This company could not be more dishonest! They try to sign u up for Club Plan and charge u double what the normal price should be. Be warned and avoid these crooks! Reviews r true! Employee work on commission so always seem to be looking for something to upsell u on. They charged me $284 for service call and toilet reseal and realized normal price should of been $100-$150 max. Also avoid their affiliated Scott's One Hour AC because they r even worse!

I wish I would have read the reviews before calling them. We got the same service. Come in try to sell you on a warranty plan that wouldn't cover anything based on their inflated pricing. Save your money and look elsewhere for your plumbing needs
