Booked Ben Franklin to come out to the house because it seemed we had a leak (kitchen floor was bubbling).

Firstly they charge $69 to come out & triage, something none of the other 3 plumbers I called required. I agreed to pay with the understanding that the $69 could be applied to whatever repairs were required.
They arrived on time, but after some very questionable triaging determined that my air gap, continuous waster, & P Trap all needed to be replaced & that they were causing the leak.

Technician showed me the dirty air gap (normal residue) and then talked to me about how residue builds up there & in the ""chrome pipes"" under the sink & eventually leaks out.
Exact note from the Tech, ""Basic leak detection testing drains under sink, replace air gap and discharge hose, replace p trap and continuous waste tee under sink all work will come will two year parts and labor warranty""

I was skeptical because the piece of floor we had torn up was actively wet & there were no signs of water present under the sink, even after his ""basic leak testing"".

Quote for all of the repairs $738.

The kicker? The tech pointed out a pool of water under the dishwasher & how with the way the floor was structured it couldn't have come from the sink. He then recommended I hire an appliance repair man to come check out the dishwasher as well because we likely have two leaks.

So you're telling me you found no active leak in the area you're recommending I spend $700 to ""fix"", but aren't going to address where we do see water?!

He asked if I was ready to sign for the work today, I told him no.

$69 down the drain for lousy triage & an attempt at scamming me out of $700.

Another plumber came out, pulled out the dishwasher, found the failed 90*, offered to fix it, but showed me exactly how to do the repair.
Mopped up the water & no more leak.

To say I won't be calling Ben Franklin Plumbing again would be an understatement.

They absolutely do not live up to their name - extremely UNreliable! I made an appointment on a Wednesday for a toilet install after they said they would waive the inspection fee (which is higher than others I spoke with). They called back to reschedule for the next day Thursday, and then again (in the middle
of the 4 hour window!) to reschedule for Friday. The inspector called and said he was 10 minutes away then showed up 40 minutes later. After 5 minutes of inspection I was given an outrageous quote that was double what the other plumbers I had spoken with was and the only reason I would consider it was the $300 credit they allegedly gave me for a missed appointment (the 2nd one mind you). I would steer clear of this joke of a company. No wonder they haven't claimed this Yelp listing, I can't believe there aren't ten other 1-star reviews, if only I could give 0 stars I would.

We have been frustrated with our kitchen faucet for a while and purchased a replacement faucet and it just sat there for way too long. We called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing on a Saturday and the phone was answered promptly. The company sent a wonderful young man named Jake to install the rather complicated new faucet. He was able to visit us on a Sunday morning! He called to confirm he was arriving soon and showed up right on time. Jake was knowledgeable, cheerful and efficient. We could not have asked for anyone better. Highly recommended.

Came on time. Argyrios assessed and confirmed what I had determined the issue (symptom) was. He also patiently explained why it happened and opportunities to better resolve the issue, not just the symptom. He gave me options for resolving the symptom as well as full resolution of the problem. I'm very happy with the results and would gladly invite Argyrios back for any other plumbing problems.

I made an appointment to meet at my summer home 100 miles away and they said they serviced the area. The appointment was for Thursday at 10 am. I drove there and waited until 11am when they called and said they couldn't make it and wanted to reschedule next week.
I can't imagine they would ask me to re-drive another 100 miles next week. Beware these people are not reliable.

I have had a wonderful experience with Keith Lettier from Ben Franklin Plumbing. When my rental unit sprung a leak I called them for help. Keith came out the next day to fix the problem. It turned out to be old broken water pipes. He was able to replace them and restore the water pipes and water pressure to perfect condition. I am very impressed by the professionalism and skill shown by Keith Lettier. I will be calling him at Ben Franklin for all by plumbing problems.

Internal confusion and apparent scheduling chaos results in a BFP no-show for an appointment and hours wasted waiting.

I set up an appointment with ""Cassandra"" on Wed. 3.27.19, 10:10 am for the following day Thurs 3.28.19. She advised a service window of 4 hrs between 8am and 12 noon. I took careful notes. Three hours later at 1:01 pm the same day I received a flurry of phone calls from an unknown number but no messages. I interpret this phone profile as spam and ignored them. At 1:05 pm I received a phone message from ""Natalie"" requesting confirmation of an appointment ""TODAY"". Calling back I spoke with yet another person who declined to verify my appointment date insisting instead on putting me on hold while she phoned a field technician??. I ended the call abruptly in frustration hoping they'd get it straightened out on their end by the appointed time the next day. Messages left for Cassandra to clarify the issue went unanswered. Ben Franklin Plumbing never showed. What a waste of time. I should have taken heed of the many unflattering reviews of this national franchise chain that's been buying out our local plumbers. I wish you better luck.

I called on Friday, and they were able to send someone out on Monday, New Years Eve day! The repairman Lois was fabulous! He was courteous, polite and a pleasure to meet. He replaced our entire faucet fixture and had the job done quickly. Thank you Lois, and Happy New Year!

We had an emergency with an outdoor pipe spraying water, of course it was Sunday, called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing because they advertised that they work 24 hours and handle any emergency. Called, someone answered right away, and then told me there was nobody available until Monday!! Some 24 emergency service!! The person who took the call was rude and explained there were just too many emergencies and hung up. I will never use nor recommend this company, poor service and rude customer service employees.
