THE WORST COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH!!!! My wife noticed 2 brown water spots on the kitchen ceiling. The shower in our master bathroom is right above where the spots were. Called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing Mike came out Monday told us he couldn't do anything until we cut open the ceiling where the 2 small brown spots were to make sure there was no mold and once we make sure we are mold free he will come back out and take a look at the leak. This Happened on Monday $1100 later and 2 rescheduled appointments by the company Mike finally came out on Friday to look at the leak. I told him outside on our driveway about the leak what I saw and where I thought it was coming from. Now i forgot to mention I've already taken 2 days off of work Monday when Mike came the first time and Tuesday when they cut a $1100 whole in my ceiling. Now after I told Mike what I thought and noticed about the leak he didn't even come inside to look!! He told me that it would be a easy fix all he'd have to do is fix the flange change it from a plastic to a brass and we'd be ok. We made a appointment for Tuesday the 22 cause he said it would be a 2 man job he quoted us $960 and left. He came today my wife was home I had to go to work I've already taken 2 days off for this and trusted Mike to do what we talked about and I came home to find a $5 gasket that you can by at any hardware store in my shower instead of a brand new brass flange like we talked about. 2 guys $500 for a $5 gasket and I still have a leak!!!! $1600 spent a whole in my kitchen ceiling a shower I can't use and for what?!!! Needless to say I'm PISSED!!!!

I just had the best experience ever with a plumbing company. I called Ben Franklin to install two new faucets: one to replace a faucet outdoors and one to replace a shower head. Keith Lettier came to do the work. He was on time, cleaned up after himself, worked fast and efficiently. While he was at it, he fixed a few other small plumbing problems needing adjustments. The best part of all is, besides being an excellent plumber, he is a heck of a nice guy and easy to talk with. Five star review from me and a big Thank You!

On Monday, April 23rd, I called Benjamin Franklin to clear a blocked line from our kitchen sink. They sent someone out the same afternoon who ran a snake through the cleanout and got the water to drain.

Three days later (Thursday) after running the water for over a minute, the sink backed up again so I called again and requested a return visit under warrantee. The visit was scheduled for Friday morning. Late that morning, I got a call rescheduling to the afternoon. Late that afternoon, I got a call rescheduling to ""First visit on Monday"".

By 9:00 on Monday morning, I called again to say I could not remain at the house beyond 9:30am, so we rescheduled for Monday afternoon.

AGAIN, on Monday afternoon, I get a call to say the tech was at the hospital with a family medical emergency and we'd have to reschedule to Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, Juaquin S. Arrived and snaked out the drain three times. He wanted to know why the blockage had re-occurred, so he crawled through the subfloor area and found there was a sag in the pipe causing water and debris to collect. He strapped up the pipe to relieve the sag.

Ordinarily, I'd give a very poor rating to this job after all the delays and failed appointments, but I have to say the company stayed in touch and even offered to reimburse the original cost due to the many delays. In addition, Juaquin went above and beyond to make sure the problem would not reoccur. Consequently, I'm giving a 4 rating for a job well done even though there were scheduling delays.

After a little bit of a rough start with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, they sent us their very best Keith Lettier. Keith showed up right on time, did excellent work and was quick. He knows his stuff and took the time to really educate us on the most cost effective solutions for our plumbing issues. When you call ask for Keith!

These people are a rip off and try to charge you for work that is not needed while taking advantage of you while you are at an impasse because you can't use your water.

Sewage was backed up and someone came over. He couldn't find the sewage clean-out and couldn't clear it. Then he asked to go under the house and crawled around taking pictures of pipes that he said are leaking and need repair. Possible, but that is not the issue right now. He gave an estimate of $7000 for that. Then he gave an estimate of $1900 to dig a whole from the sewage line out from the road to the house so they could release the pressure to the house. He wanted me to sign the contract to get started. I wouldn't accept to do the work without talking to someone else. So, he left. Sewage line still clogged, and we couldn't use any water of course.

We called another plumber right away. He comes out, finds the clean-out in 5 min, snakes it and gets the job done in 30 min for $220. Fantastic service.

These people are simply trying to take advantage of you because you are stuck with a clogged sewage and try to sell you something that is not necessary at the moment. They walk out and hope you call them back right away because they know you're stranded.

I called him back to complain, he hung up on me. Called the company to complain and still need to hear back.

Recently, I had a pipe leak and I called Benjamin Franklin as they were quick to respond, but the the representative was very consistent on having the whole house re-piped and it didn't sit well with me. When they started the work everything seem to be fine with their scope of work. The technician jack hammered a hole in my floors and then when it was end of day he said he will be back when he would work next. He left my house and left a huge pile of dirt and concrete and told me that the water would work temporarily in which it did if dropping water is what he meant. The following day I received a call from BFP and was told they didn't have any available technician and that they would come out in two days. Two days passed and a different technician came out and jack hammered some more and he left at the end of his shift and said he would be back tomorrow. Still no results, just a bigger hole in my slab floor. Frustrated at this point, but figured he knew what he was doing and didn't say anything. The next day, another technician came out and jack hammered some more. I had a good feeling about him and by the 7th day the job was completed. I would've gave 1 star but the last technician actually did his job and finished it. The problem was solved as he turned the main water line from the sidewalk off in which the other two did not.

I felt as if the other two were amateurs and kept telling me to re-pipe the entire house. Re-piping was going to cost $10-$20k. Yea, sound great but the price ticket was just too high.

The individuals involved I feel really have tried their best to help us so it pains me to leave a 2 star review.

In summary our sewage line was damaged by tree roots. Under our driveway. On a 50 year old clay pipe. So it's not such a great situation coming into this but the estimate fit what people are saying online ($4k) and the reviews were decent so I decided we should go ahead with this.

The representative promptly cleared out as much of the pipe as he could, but said even with it improved, we should avoid large loads on the pipe such as laundry. They have a crew that specializes in this sort of thing, they can come out in two days. On Thursday. Probably finished by Friday.

We do a lot of laundry at our house so it's an inconvenience but we could get by for a few days without it, and we worked out a system to not have more than one person taking a shower at once, not drain the sink while flushing a toilet, etc. Maybe overkill but we didn't want raw sewage backing up into the bathtub again, and had no idea how blocked it is.

I called to confirm the time with dispatch, my wife called too on Thursday morning and they confirmed they would arrive between 10 and 2. Late Thursday I called to find out why no one showed up. They said we had been rescheduled for Monday. I called the manager, he said he could get us taken care of on Friday, new cement would have to wait until the following week.

Then Friday came, and went. I called the manager again, he offered a $300 credit as part of their ""If there's any delay, it's you we pay"" policy, and said he could get someone here on Monday. I told them I'd rather have someone else do it. But he found someone that could come in on Saturday, should be able to finish the repair but the hole will be filled later. Ok fine.

On Saturday, he was late but did dig down to the pipe, about 4 feet down. At which point he said he didn't expect a clay pipe and didn't have parts. But he would be back on Monday to finish the repair, he would send the camera into the pipe again to check that the rest of the pipe is clear.

We asked the neighbors if we could use their appliances... this is taking too long.

So Monday came, and I couldn't get a response from BF Plumbing about whether I could now use my pipes. Their computers were down, couldn't look up my work order, they promised to call me back but 5 hours later I still hadn't heard from them. I called the manager, it didn't even ring, just went to voicemail, but the box was full, so I couldn't leave a message.

I took a flashlight tonight to look into the hole... I do see a new pipe, so... is that it? Are we good? No way to know.

On their web site they say they value their customers' time above all else. Yeah right. I respected them far more when I called on a previous job and they said they couldn't service me because they had too many other customers to serve. I respect that, you wouldn't want a company to promise something they can't deliver. This time, that's what they did.

These guys are so great! The actually do arrive promtly... not just something they say in their advertising :-) But more importantly, thought I needed a whole new water heater but just needed the thermostat. So they are HONEST! They fixed it a few minutes, and life was back to normal with running hot water. And it cost a mere percentile of what I thought I would spend. Thank you!!
