Daniel Gagne, a second-generation plumbing contractor, began working in the family business right after high school in Montreal. He moved to the West Coast in 1993 and, alongside his brother Patrick, established their business in 1996. The company experienced quick growth, and in 2000, they affiliated with the Benjamin Franklin franchise. By 2012, the business had grown to three locations in the Bay Area: Novato, Concord, and Redwood City. Employing about 70 staff and operating 45 trucks, we are dedicated to improving our customer service and supporting homeowners in the Bay Area.

This was my fourth experience with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in the last 12 years. As in each of the previous times, I found them to be prompt, efficient, and totally reliable. In fact, I have never had to call them back for follow-up service for the same repair. When it comes to plumbing, you want the problem fixed quickly and correctly the first time. This company does not disappoint.
This time the kitchen sink would not drain. I called the company Sunday evening. (Yes, they actually staff the phones on Sunday!) And by 9:30 Monday morning, Jonathan was at my door. After inspecting under the sink and under the house, he called in Oliver who made a second assessment and presented my options, explaining everything in great detail. I opted to have about 10 feet of pipe replaced under the house, but was concerned about getting such a big job (I thought) done the same day. However, by 5:00 pm that day, all the bad pipe had been replaced and connected to the main drain line. Oliver took the time to show me where the old pipe had deteriorated and then went back under the house to test the new plumbing for leaks. Happy to say I was able to start running the dishwasher with last night's dirty dishes before my wife came home from work.
I couldn't be happier with the repair and, if the need arises, I won't hesitate to call on Benjamin Franklin Plumbing again. Need I say more?

I'd be very careful of these folks. I had a main line backup at my house and the plumber that came out was very nice and got things working again. However, I was told that I need a new sewer line which he bid out at $20K and it was interesting that he knew exactly where to refer me for financing such a project. After speaking with a couple independent plumbers, I feel pretty certain that I have other options that will cost much, much, much less. Very disappointing that some companies operate this way. I don't think I'll be calling these folks back. It's always my preference to go with a local/independent, but this was the only plumber that could come out when I needed one urgently.
This was the first time that I used their services. They came out on a Sunday a few weeks ago The person taking the call was very professional. The plumber (Darrell) was exceptionally nice and worked to figure out my problem. Our toilet drain in the house was plugged. He did a great job and the price was really fair. Strongly recommend. I normally fix things myself and I really appreciated having a reliable company to call when I get stuck.
Dawn R.Jimmy Marquez from Ben Franklin Plumbing was very helpful this morning. He was on time and did a great job explaining the options, was able to take care of the problem in less than 20 minutes, and made helpful suggestions. The price was very fair and we really appreciate how pleasant he was.
I had recently bought the monthly maintenance program and had a major plumbing leak on December 21st, so I called BFP. Michael came out the next day and came up with a plan to fix the upstairs plumbing. In the middle of fixing what we thought was the problem, Michael discovered another issue. Daniel and Michael took great care in removing my custom-made built in furniture to access the needed ceiling/walls. Turns out I had to have all sewer lines, water lines and the dryer vent all replaced/repaired! Nigel was terrific at figuring out the puzzle of my upstairs plumbing. All of them were professional, pleasant and reassuring. Nigel even came out to help with the inspection walk-through. And Daniel did a great job putting back the built-in furniture and in building a soffit to hide the now ""to code"" sewer pipes. A real master. Fawn handled all of the permit/inspection work and everyone I have dealt with has been great.
Contacted customer service first thing in the morning to set up an appointment for my clogged toilet after waiting several days for other plumbers to call me back. Was very happy at first that they could come out the same day in the afternoon to snake out our toilet (est time frame was 4-7pm-ish). I was waiting on the call from the plumber to let me know he was on his way. Instead around 4pm i get a call from the lady i spoke with that she was very sorry but no one could come out and to call someone else. How horrible is that!! I was very annoyed and frustrated. I thought Benjamin Franklin was supposed to be the #1 plumber to call? And especially annoyed with them calling so late and having to scramble again to find someone else. Would never call for a plumbing issue again - I will take my business elsewhere!!
I have been very pleased with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. They always call right before coming out. Recently, I had my tankless water heater cleaned and the technician answered all my questions. He was fast and very thorough. I would call them again.
