Kudos to Ben Franklin Plumbing of Atascadero. Kelly Keane came to our home on a weekend to replace a defective water heater. He was prompt, courteous and explained exactly what needed to be done. It is hard to find good plumbers in the area and Kelly is one of the best we have used in 35 years.

If it could be a 0 star, I would make it that way. Just needed pressure valve replaced on water heater, according to a lot of people, would be simple for most to do. But, because of time, decided to call Benjamin Franklin's. When asked what it might cost to replace, was told they had to assess but that would be only a $39 charge. This is a $20 part. Plumber arrived and tried to upsell me on several different regulators he said we needed but I said no. So he said it would take a few minutes to write it up and came back with three different estimates, the cheapest being $368 and most being more than $750. The labor to replace to the water heater was just $800 three years ago. It was less than a 30-minute job and cost $368. Will never use this company again -- what a huge ripoff.

Very nice folks. The job was a hard one, and it was done well. With the size and cost of the job I thought that there might be some blend from one part of the job to the other in terms of total cost. WRONG! Every single aspect of the job was charged as an individual fee. The burner and bummer was after spending over $18,000 they were cheeky enough to charge a $39 service fee for the initial contact. Hey, Benjamin Franklin ... enjoy the money. We will not call back ... ever.

Paid a deposit and service fee of $138 on a $956 estimate to replace two faucets. After 6 weeks, they were still unable to obtain a Delta faucet (I found it on Amazon easily). I cancelled the job. Never a call back or apology or attempt to problem solve this issue from management or a plumber. Contacting the corporate office simply send the complaint back to the local office.

I then hired Cochrane Family Plumbing who recommended repairing not replacing one of the faucets, replaced the second faucet and in addition fixed a loose kitchen sink fixture for a total of $259 (a savings of $697!) In all I lost $39 on a nonrefundable ""service fee"" and 6 weeks of frustration but maybe others can benefit from my experience.

I had Johnny and Sean out to my house to fix my tub yesterday and I am very happy. They were able to come earlier than expected (after a phone call to make sure that was ok). The job was a little more extensive then originally thought but still got everything done in a timely manner. Both plumbers were very polite and professional and left my bathroom neat when finished. Will definitely be calling them again with any plumbing problems I may have. Great job!!

Overpriced, Poor Workmanship, Rude, Very Poor Communication. They are very overpriced for the work performed. The work done was sloppy and in my opinion, is substandard. They also expect you to clean up any mess they make. They don't give you all of the facts before starting the job and they don't seem to care if you are happy with the job afterwards. I would not recommend them for any future plumbing jobs.
