Founded during tough economic times, Benicia Plumbing was a bold venture by Bill and Leeann Cawley. The Cawleys aimed to offer reliable, high-quality plumbing services and create strong community bonds, turning their small business into a well-respected name.

As time has passed, we have expanded our services to better serve our customers. We are driven by a single principle: “People Taking Care of People,” as we offer modern plumbing solutions and support extensive construction efforts.

In 2015, Bill transitioned leadership to his son, William Cawley III, who carries on the family legacy with a strong focus on quality and community involvement.

As President of Benicia Plumbing, Inc., William J. Cawley, III (Bill) manages new construction estimates and supervises all aspects of the business. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A & M University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science. Before joining Benicia Plumbing, Bill served as a Project Manager for two years at Brandt Engineering Co., Inc., a large commercial HVAC and plumbing firm in Dallas, Texas. In 1998, Bill joined Benicia Plumbing, Inc., and has been a part of the team ever since. Bill possesses a California Contractor’s License with specialties in C-36 Plumbing and C-20 HVAC, and he is an EPA Certified “Universal” refrigerant technician.

When not at work, Bill loves to spend time with his wife and four kids, volunteer at his church, and participate in shooting sports when he can.

Awesome company! Came out to help us with the install on a new oven that needed a longer gas line. Also installed a new garbage disposal. Very reasonable and friendly. Don't waste you time calling around, go with Benicia plumbing-- you won't regret it. They know what they are doing, are professional, friendly and competent. They also are the installer for most new homes so they are credible. Plus- they service the whole Solano County area!

I'll try to be honest. Overall experience depends on whom they sent to your home. I called for replacing a bad float for my sewage ejection system. The plumber that was sent seems to have seen a ejection pump system first time since he did not seem to have good knowledge as how ejection system works and what exactly needs to be done right of the bat. When I called I asked dispatcher to send some with parts in van for float replacement but the guy came with no parts. I had expected to see someone more experienced. He drove back to get float from store for about an hour.....then when he came back I helped him install it. The overall process cost was 3 hour of service and travel time ( yes they do charge travel time to your home) and then extra for float. They installed the system when my house was first built, so that's why I approached them for service plus they had good reviews on yelp .... but I'll call someone else next time.

A few weeks ago I had a leak in my 2nd story condo and my HOA suggested Benicia Plumbing to my place to find the leak. After opening up about a small viewing hole in some sheetrock the problem was found to be my toilet. The gentleman who came over then proceeded to tell me that the entire toilet needed to be replaced and started to suggest a high end toilet that would cost about four hundred dollars. I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PLUMBING AND TRUSTED THIS MAN. He then proceeds to order the toilet and leaves to install it the next day. Wanting a confirmation on the big purchase I was about to make I called my friend and told him the story to confirm my choice in the purchase. My friend immediately told me to call Benicia Plumbing back and cancel the ordered toilet and install. After a few minutes my friend came over and fixed the problem himself all for about $20 to replace a simple wax ring. A hard lesson in plumbing that I thankfully learned the easy cheaper way. I now have an invoice for the plumbing company for $125.00 Now I do not dispute that they came out and sawed some sheet rock open to figure out the issue but my problem is the suggestion that the entire toilet had to be replaced. This was very DISHONEST and as a person who does not know much about major home repair I found it inexcusable to prey on a person who did not know any better. I can only hope that they are not doing this to the rest of the community. I don't mind paying the labor but it says a lot about a company that would suggest such an expensive option for a much cheaper alternative. I normally don't write yelp reviews, but felt the need to write one for other unsuspecting unknowing people out there who work hard for their money and are at the mercy of professionals with no other option but to trust them. As a hard working 2nd grade teacher and contributing community member, I highly suggest you do not use this company!!!

I had leak occur inside one of my walls and got worried how long this has been going on. Because all the water was leaking to the outside portion of the wall I was afraid how much internal damage had occurred.

I called Benicia Plumbing and pleaded my case. They mentioned how busy they were but reassured me that if they could get to me sooner they would. In the mean time I would just shut off the water until they arrived. They showed up in less than 24 hours from when I called.

Pat, who showed up from Benicia Plumbing, patiently listened to me and followed me to the location of the leak. He took a couple minutes to make an assessment and then explained what he would do and ask for my approval. He let me know every time when something came up and when he finished. Once the wall was opened we both saw that I had caught this leak in time and they came out in a timely fashion that there was no structural damage done to the house.

After reading the other reviews of other plumbing companies near by I was starting to get discourage. In this day and age where it's hard to find good quality service I'm so glad I found Benicia Plumbing. Keep up the great standards Benicia Plumbing. I'll never hesitate to call them.

We used Benicia Plumbing for 2 different issues. 5 star on the 1st - 2 Stars on the 2nd.

1 - We needed a Gas Line run into our existing fireplace (for a new Insert). These guys were great (Errol specifically). We had planned other jobs at the house but ran into a bit of analysis paralysis - but Errol was very patient with us as we figured out which job we would do now vs wait on. After couple of site visits to our house and different bids, we selected him to do Job #1 -- it was completed per the bid price .. and he was very clean and tidy making sure not to make any messes.

2 - We needed our drain snaked, so thought we'd use them again since their service was good the 1st time ... But honestly wished we would had just gone with Stefano's. The guy he did what he could with the (problematic) tools he had. The problem is that he didn't have adequate tools to apparently clear through the entire drain and cut the roots that he said are causing our stoppage. I mean, he worked ""at it"" for a full hour but just couldn't clear it. (or mabe there was a slight TURN that he couldn't get by??) Then he recommended a video camera to be sent into the drain to see where the blockage is and then for us to take costly replacement procedures of the damaged drain (slab floor!). ugh ... Had we KNOWN he wouldn't possess the proper snake with the proper ""cutting attachments"" we would have hired another company .. Lesson learned, as costly as this was.

edit/update : We had another Plumbing company to give us a 2nd opinion on the ""faulty Pressue Regulator"" & the ""roots"" .. The Regulator is NOT bad ... It was just the location that the Benicia plumber took the reading ... so now we are doubting any of his analysis of our issue and will hire a different company with the (1) proper tools to clear the drain, and (2) proper and accurate knowledge. Search ""Stefano's Plumbing"" - that guy is great & honest and his 'drain snaking' is very reasonable priced.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE!! Start to finish, from the moment they picked up the phone, till Patrick walked out the door: A+ customer service and work completion. Pipe broke under our house - messy stinky kitchen pipe. Patrick got dispatched right away, super positive attitude, quick work, great experience. Thank you Benicia Plumbing!

Emergency plumbing is good. Customer service is good. Quality of work was unsatisfactory. Willingness to come out and fix was good. Reimbursement check was a nice bonus. Original poor Yelp rating gone? Sketchy.

Chuck came out to my house and installed 4 quarter-turn angle stops for my vanity, adjusted a drain in the shower pan, raised my shower and replaced the valve, and replaced the valve in my tub. He was kind enough to work with dry wall guys on top of him. However, the tub drain was not even close to level, one of the angle stops seems to be missing a nut, (he says it isn't necessary), and the tub valve was not installed level with the tile wall or far enough set sticking out from the wall so my tile guy could install the tile. Hopefully he can come out and fix it immediately, otherwise this really messes with my bathroom remodel timeline.

Update 8/22/12:
Chuck was pulled off his long-term job to come and fix the tub valve. I made sure that everything was level to my satisfaction before Chuck left. And he wanted to make sure that I was satisfied. Once or twice Chuck was ready to leave but then I wanted to make a few more measurements and we had to do a few more adjustments. I was glad that Chuck did not charge me for coming out and adjusting the valve which he installed.
I hope that what we did will be satisfactory for my tile installer, Dimitre, the Tile Artist.

Update 8/23/12:
As Dimitre was getting ready to install the tile today he noticed that if he did his install that the tub handles would pull in and out any time that you turned them by 1/2"" and could slam into the tile breaking them eventually. Also, there was a lot of play in the piping because it was not screwed down to make it immobile. My tile installer had to install a block of wood behind the pipes and screw the pipes to that to make everything stable and immobile.

I called Benicia plumbing, hoping to find someone who could fix a broken valve that day that my landscapers could not fix. Unfortunately, they were booked up for the rest of the week, but said they would call if there was an opening. I hung up and called a same day service but was disconnected as I was speaking to someone. I gave up for awhile. Then Benicia Plumbing called back and said they had someone available and could send him out in a few minutes if I still needed help. Patrick showed up, was friendly, prepared and professional. He completed the job in less than an hour and tested everything to make sure there were no leaks, then gave me the senior discount I requested. He was patient and friendly and didn't seem to mind me hanging out and watching him work. I would definitely use Benicia Plumbing again.

I have a home warranty on my house. I still chose to call Benicia Plumbing and pay out of pocket for their services. The plumber showed up on time, were courteous, finished the job in a reasonable amount of time and even wore booties to keep my carpet clean.
