We realized that starting our own company would allow us to deliver our exceptional services at fair prices. We were correct. Benchmark Plumbing and Rodding launched in 2014, and today, we cater to customers throughout the Chicagoland area.

I was referred to Joe by my Warranty company. He cleaned the drain out in my shower with such force that it cased the drain piping underneath to loosen and leak into my first floor. I called him and sent him pictures. The warranty company reopened the order. I spoke to him and he said "" all he cares about is that I am happy."" He repeated that over and over and over and over. He set up a time to come out 2 days latter. Day of I text him to see if he is coming out and he said that he is not. He did not notify me or tell me he has cancelled the job, because all he cares about is that I am happy. right?. I had taken the day off of work and I still have a drain leaking into my first floor. He is now not responsive and will not take ownership of his faulty work, or at least look at it. Do not fall for "" I just want to make sure you are 100% happy"" its BS. He breaks things then walks away and will leave you hanging. I ask you to RUN as far away from Joe as you can and don't look back. I do not recommend unethical individual's and Joe is a prime example of one.
I used my warranty company to do a simple rod, but the guy they sent out had no clue to deal with the problem. Wanted to put holes in my walls under the sink. Didn't know how to rod from the tub. He said he never seen a tub like this before, called his boss and his boss said the same thing. After looking it up he figured how to go through the tub, but it needed to be rodded from the sink like i told him. So he couldn't fix it through the tub. So i had to call trojan plumbing took him 5 mins. To rod from the sink he said you just have to know what you doing because of the pipes under the sink and for the tub he looked at it and said that is easy two screws and pull. I just talk to bench mark plumbing and he said our coustomers love our work sorry about your small issue. Paying twice for a job is a big issue send someone who is experienced that is what im paying for, a professional.
Cristy M.I had Nick come to my home several times and it was good service at first. Then I was charged a warranty fee when not using a warranty company which was clarified. Also, he broke our cartilage in the bathroom faucet which left us without water. We had him check on the hot water pressure and while putting it together he broke it. The boss Jamie did not offer to fix what his technician had broken. I will never use this service again.
This company was fantastic, they were recommended through my Sears Home Warranty & their customer service/plumbing work was great. Joe showed up on-time and was extremely professional, diligent, and courteous especially considering we have 3 kids and Covid is still around. He diagnosed the problem, fixed it, explained how to avoid it happening again, and then cleaned up the area. Would definitely use them again!
Emmanuel C.Previously used this company with Choice Home Warranty and had no issues. Was excited to work with them again but the customer service has gone down hill. Voicemails were not returned and my first appointment after rescheduling was a no show. The last technician that came told my tenants he would be back with parts and never showed. When I called he advised there were other jobs and would attempt to reschedule. They contacted him numerous times and he has not responded. I called choice warranty and advised to no longer partner with this company. If I could rate a 0 I would.
I wouldn't give this company one star. This was the worst service provider I have ever dealt with. A technician came to my home Wednesday, April 29th a day after my scheduled appointment. He arrived without the proper equipment and had to wait for over an hour for the owner Jaime to bring a rodder. The technician suspected a camera would be needed. I discussed this with the owner while he was still in my home and he said he didn't have the camera with him but, someone would return with one. No one ever showed up that night or the days to follow. Despite multiple back and forth discussions regarding warranty coverage. My warranty with Home Warranty of America not only covered the camera but, they also covered up to $5000 dig repair or replacement of damaged pipes. Which I also discussed with the owner and he said the job wouldn't be more than that amount. Ultimately, the owner Jaime did not want to honor the warranty. Seems like he'd rather rack up on smaller incomplete jobs thank put in the work that's necessary to resolve the broader issue. I am extremely disappointed with Benchmark Plumbing and HWA for referring this company who does not honor their business obligations or relationships. I wouldn't recommend them for a dog house. I have been unable to use my kitchen sink, bathrooms, and laundry equipment for 8 days! This is unacceptable!!
Alex B.They were assigned to me by home warranty of America They have been to my house three times. They should have only been here twice. They made a mistake and had to come back to fix it. The problem is that they won't fix the water damage to my walls, that happened due to their error.
I got tired of calling them and them not returning my calls or texts. I am just over it. Use them at your own risk.
We have only lived in this house since March. Benchmark came out to the house a week before we closed and ""repaired"" one of our two sump pumps. The ""repaired"" pump failed two weeks later leaving us with more than 6 inches of water throughout our lower level. They came back out.
Told us how they had been there previously and previous home owner didn't want them to replace the pump since she was moving. The 2nd trip, they replaced the sump pump which had stopped working and now the other one is making noise like it will fail. On our 3rd trip, today, the technician even mentioned that the one they replaced 6 months ago was tied to the sewer line but they can't help with this one because ""it's not covered under waranty. "" so he's here in my house, sees an issue, knows how to fix the issue (tie it into the sewer line) but he doesn't fix it and then I get to pay him for coming out to the house and essentially telling me: yep I see the issue but not gonna fix it because we fixed the other one in april... Need a new plumber!
Benchmark was assigned to do some work via my home warranty company. I tried contacting them on three different occasions to schedule time for them to come to my home. No one from Benchmark ever returned my phone calls or texts. I finally spoke to someone at Benchmark on 10-11-19 about my visit and was told a technician would call me today. I never heard anything from the technician or anyone at Benchmark.
Gabe was very friendly and polite! He arrived in a very timely matter and did a good job solving our issue. It's good finding an honest plumber that we can rely on in the future. Thank you, Gabe and Benchmark Plumbing!
