I've had Bemiss plumbing do several jobs for me. In my opinion, Don Bemiss is the best plumber I've ever hired. He gets the job done right the first time. He is extremely knowledgeable, highly competent, absolutely professional, and very courteous. In addition, he is a highly skilled general contractor which makes him invaluable for more complex projects. He works very hard and his rates are fair. I hired Don Bemis to install a water shut off. It wasn't an emergency it was just something to be scheduled. He came out looked at the job and said it would take all day and should be around $1000.
Well he showed up late Saturday did a mediocre job in less than 4 hours and wanted a check right there for $1000 presenting a hand written bill.. So I paid him. When I contacted him to send him a 1099 he refused to give his tax i.d. number. This guy is trouble! $250 an hour and I doubt his work is guaranteed. I will be checking on his ""license""but avoid this guy like the plague! Pick a licensed and insured plumbing contractor not this hack!

After coming to house and doing so so work, this guy started harassing for payment. Minus the fact he couldn't take a credit card or anything WHEN HE WAS AT HOUSE WORKING- we told him we'd pay him when we got paid. Plus the fact he doesn't know got to send an invoice- he asked if he could text it lol-This dude showed up and berated my wife in front of my 18 month kid on day that we were paying.Absolute crap and horrible service. As someone that's lived in area for a long time, I can say this dude does not deserve your money. Take it else where. He gave a story about not having a lot of work and that is bc he treats his customers horribly. GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR PLUMBING NEEDS

My neighbors hired this crew. After asking them to not block our driveway several times we had to call the cops 4 times in a week to get them out of our driveway. They even moved our landscape rocks, placed to keep cars out, and drove up the hill to park.
It ended in both the UPS and Fed Ex trucks calling to complain. Both had to back down a very steep driveway into Hwy 89 traffic because no one would own up to the car blocking our driveway for 5 hours.

Incredible service. We got into town late at night to visit our family cabin. We found 11 broken pipes. Bemiss Plumbing both answered the call and came to our rescue. Incredible service, and just a great guy. Thanks Bemiss Plumbing!

The reviews for plumbing companies in the truckee area were not helpful so I used the yellow pages. I called 3 different companies before I got an answer at all (this was in december when there's a lot of business for plumbers). Don Bemiss (the owner) answered as soon as I called. The business number is his cell phone. He came over right after the job that he was working on. He charged me by parts and an hourly rate of $85. In total it came out to less than half the price quoted to me by Rooter man from their ""up-front pricing"" book (which by the way is just plumbing industry collusion). He was nice, wanted business, and was generally not a jerk or a pest and got started working as soon as he arrived. He did have to leave to get parts, but that was expected.
Overall, I'm very happy with the interaction. It was cheaper, with better customer service, and a smaller business than the alternatives. He says on his website he has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Not sure what that means, but it's worth noting. Finally, he's registered with the BBB so, if you have a problem, you have a recourse.
