Dan C.Technician was hours late to our furnace cleaning and checkup appointment with no communication they were running behind. I had to leave before he was complete. I called the office to ask speak with the technician about what he said was wrong with the furnace. He wasn't available at the time so I asked if he could call back. I never got a call back.
We had a water tank leak and they came out the next morning. The office staff was helpful and made sure we had turned off the right valve. Trevor did a wonderful job and was very knowledgeable and helpful. While he was there we also noticed that the furnace was going out too. The next week we had them come out again and replace it. Nick E and Larry B did a great job and were very respectful and helpful as well. Would definitely have these guys out again. Hopefully just for maintenance next time.
After years of paying forward for a yearly inspection, I was notified that the Preferred Member Program was modified to eliminate the basic service I ""preferred"". My $180/year service was now $240, but they would flush my water tank for the extra cost. What a deal, huh? I called and the people were very professional, so I have no complaint about that.
Companies modifying their service to support their process needs over the customer's needs may work just fine, but BelRed raised the price 33% and thinks I will simply fall in line and pay. Bob's Heating and Air Conditioning offers a similar base service for $180. One more thing. We need a new furnace in less than five years. They do not care about that business either.
I am not going to help them print anymore money.
Agree with the last 4+ reviewers. I called them recently, the $100 diagnostic test is alright- not much I could do about that. But the estimate for repairs was way over market, a nice $2,500. The next day I called Bob's and Eastside Heating and AC, both estimates we're under $1,500. Don and Carol (the owners of Bel Red) are a joke. Nice core values section on your website.
Stephanie W.So overpriced I am still in shock. $800 for a $20 furnace part that the tech said he had never installed before. I could have waited and had someone else come out but with children and a busy life I agreed to the outrageous quote. Had I read yelp first I would have been forewarned....you have been forewarned. The warranty is one year on the part only. Go figure.....the service tech, Mike, was nice...
Roger F.This business provides you with an acceptable cost for diagnostic about $100, but once they are at your premises with the furnace/AC all disassembled, they charge you an arm and a leg, and a piece of your spleen, I was charged for a part $260 (that cost around $100 on Amazon ). and about $450 for replacement of the part, (which took about 45 minutes). I called the next day to ask about the make and model of the part (to see if it is original), and I was told they couldn't tell, unless they had their eyes on it, but they could schedule someone (next week) to come and check on that !! plus they gave me a list of repair things that are needed for about $1000 which I declined, to find out none is needed.
Tom P.I am going to confirm what the vast majority of the reviewers have stated. Completely dishonest and immoral company. I had my annual plumbing inspection. According to the technician I needed both water heaters replaced, the pressure reducing valve replaced, and several other repairs that totaled over $8,000.00. Look at some of the other reviews. $8,000.00 seems to be a common number for repair quotes. I spent $130.00( the exact same OEM parts they would have used) on parts and did all of the repairs short of replacing the two hot water heaters which work perfectly and do not need to be replaced.I talked to the Controller of the company today. She was very well rehearsed in her responses. First she said that my estimate was two months old. What does that have to do with anything? Her fallback response was that I was under no obligation to have the repairs done. I guess this makes it okay to try and cheat people? What about all of the customers who believe them? Read the reviews about all of the elderly people that they have cheated out of their money. I received multiple phone calls from their office making it sound like my plumbing was in immediate need of repair. Bel Red wanted $600.00 to replace outdoor hose bibs .I asked the technician if there were repair kits available. He said no. Completely false. I paid less than $30.00 for three kits. It took less than 30 minutes to repair all three leaking hose bibs. Bel Red wanted $600.00 per faucet. $1,800.00! The controller and I spent nearly 30 minutes discussing the business practices of her employer. It is not going to change unless there is pressure on them that forces them to change their methods. The owner is conveniently never available to talk to. His information is available if someone needs to contact him, which I think the State Attorney General should consider doing soon. What about a class action law suit? Nothing short of legal action is going to stop them from continuing to overcharge people.
Terry J.I am shocked and freaked out at the estimate from Bel Red Energy Solutions.
After looking for your phone number to reschedule a sales call because I was SCAMMED into thinking I needed to repair my whole furnance.
I saw the YELP reviews that said you guys were terrible and gave minimum estimates of $1000.
I decided to get a second opinion and call a company with a 5 star Yelp rating instead - Pearce Heating and AC 425 868 6328
I have sent the PEARCE estimate to the company to show that - not only is it a FRACTION of the costs Bel Red Energy Solutions quoted me ..The repair man had ALL the parts on his truck and changed it the same day?!!?
I was told the inducer mtr part was $1000 and needed to be special ordered because my furnance was so old - WTF!!!!
Pearce Heating and A/C had the part on their truck for only $475!
The ignitor was only $130 - and your quote was $300!
The verbal quote for the blower capactitor was to the tune of $300 and Pearce it was only $45!
Pearce repaired and replaced all 3 parts, same day for $891 - when your quote was $$1600 for two parts and didnt fix it and convinced me to replace the whole furnance!?!?!?
I am shocked and amazed that this company thinks in this day and age of you run a shady business and not have people share it on reviews and social media... what are these guys thinking!?!??!
I didnt check the reviews when I googled in a panic to find a repair service for my rental property - I liked the upfront experience, the people on the phone and the technician - However the price gouging is crime and I will be sharing this on every review site and social media site possible.
This company wasted my time away from work to meet with the tech, made my renters suffer needless without a furnance during this current storm 10/17/2017 and recommended a new one be installed and you robbed me of a $90 trip charge to be ripped off. WTF! How do the people at this company sleep at night?!?!
Sharon G.I had the preferred customer plan at $30.00 per month. They came out for a once a year maintenance check for plumbing and heating and air conditioning. The plumber was pleasant and checked out everything and came up with me needing $8,000.00 worth of work being done. The immediate work would be a new toilet and hot water heater which totaled over $4,000.00. This amount included a 15% discount courtesy of the preferred plan.I am not having any trouble with anythng. No leaks etc. The furnance/air conditioning man checked everything on my 2 year furnance and a/c. No problems but he recommended a smoke detector that attached to the furnance and a surge protector. This totaled $1,000.00. Not really necessary but for your safety etc. you should get it. I am a widowed senior citizen on a fixed income. I am not made of money and opted to get a second opinion and I also cancelled my preferred plan. No way would I do business with these people. I have used this company for years but the last two years they have used these tactics. No more.
Tim B.Please do not hire this would-be company. They came to my home and told me they needed to replace a number of things in my AC-Unit. They served me with a bill of over $1100.00. The very next day my wife and I saw a number of recent reviews saying they tell their tech to always get the repair bill over $1000.00. We decided to check with the other reviewers and then had a different service company come out and confirm the repairs were actually needed. After the repair check we were informed that almost none of the things they had done were needed. In fact the unit needed a simple switch to be replaced, and that was all!!! We have since seen a number of additional Hire/Buyer/ Reviews on Bel Red saying the exact same things. The Carnation/Redmond Facebook pages are littered with that same reviews.
