My father is sick and in the hospital. I came to Denver to help my Mother out around the house. Bell Plumbing installed their evaporative cooler many years ago. Dad said to call Bell to turn on the swamp cooler. Phone answered professionally. I was put on the schedule within a couple days. Receptionist told me it was a $49 service call. All sounds good. The company called the morning of service to make sure I was home and told me the technician was on the way. Tech was professional and pleasant. He then told me to turn on the swamp cooler it was a $240 minimum charge. I sure wish the receptionist would have told me that. Ok so a 489% price increase right off the bat. Not so happy but I sign off on the $240 so the tech would get on the roof. He checks out the system and comes down with a very long and very expensive list of items. Note the same company serviced the cooler a couple times last year and took out one of the pumps they were trying to re sell me. Hmmm. So after declining all of the suggested missing items I was not able to find the water valve that feeds water to the unit from the spigot. Tech said no problem we have those on the truck. He then comes back with a price of $450 for a $9 brass valve. I understand mark up but I don't understand charging $450 for a $9 part. That is a 5,000 percent markup. So I searched my Dad's garage and found the valve. Second item was a plastic washer. They wanted $30 per washer. I think I found the washer for .15 cents. Tech was great and professional!! I think the company is super greedy and preys on old people who don't know any better. I would suggest never using this company. I just don't trust them at all. I actually felt a little sorry for the tech as he was doing his job and I could tell he was a little embarrassed when I called the company out. Please never use Bell Plumbing and spread the word.

Called replace a garbage disposal, thankfully we bought on amazon for less than $100 - tech showed up 2 days after we called, estimated it would take an hour - spent 2 and charged us $550.00. These guys are crooks!

Wow! We have been having some toilet clogging issues and wanted someone to check just for piece of mind. Kyle came out yesterday and did a thorough inspection, ran through every scenario that could be causing an issue and checked. He explained everything so well, I learned more about my house's plumping than I ever probably wanted to know haha I am so impressed with his knowledge and explanation. I never once felt like he was trying to sell me a product or scam me. Today Ben came out to scope our mainline, we have a large tree in the front yard and wanted to make sure nothing was causing issue with roots. Happy to report we have a clean mainline and no roots. Yesterday's inspection cost me $49 and today Bens scope was NO CHARGE! I was shocked. Honestly the best $49 I've spent giving us piece of mind that our system is just fine. God forbid I need their services in the future but if I ever do they will be the plumbers I call! Thank you!

You should read all the other poor reviews about Bell. This place is honestly WAY overpriced and has terrible customer service. We needed a couple of simple plumbing tasks completed in our basement. I was at work when the plumber came over and basically told my wife that two of the tasks would be really expensive or that we should have someone else do it (or he was too lazy to do it). Ok, I can appreciate the advice to not overspend on something. We then told him we needed to replace the disposal in the sink. He told my wife, who knows very little about plumbing, that it would be $650. I would have told him to get out right there. He proceeded to do the work and had a disposal in his truck. By the time my wife got a hold of me, the work was done (it only took him 30 to 40 minutes). The disposal he installed retails at $200. Not only do I feel like I was bent over, I feel like he took advantage of a woman who didn't know a whole lot about plumbing - something an above-board business would not do. He then charged us $720 (not $650). His explanation for the high charge was that it is not based on time and materials, but a simple line item charge that Bell uses. That's pathetic. Salt in the wound: when I called the office and left a very calm voice message for the supervisor - no call back. There are way less expensive plumbers out there that deliver better quality and customer service.

I have bought a part I needed for my furnace before - $75 or so for an igniter. I believe it was a Sunday and they were the only ones available/open. Great service.
Called them out this morning as my furnace was out - the igniter I installed melted. Not sure why - the technician was not sure why either. Could have been the gas outage we recently had where we had no gas for days.
$49 for the service call - no problem I thought. But, to replace the igniter and have a technician install it was $471. Time was about 1-1/2 hours. Maybe two hours when you count the drive? So, roughly $200/hr is my guess. You do the math, you can get lawyers for $250/hr.
I get they use union technicians, there's training, gas etc. , but really??? For a part that retails $75? Wholesale on it is less than $30. I could not wait and did not have time to call another technician out and play that game.
Their pricing is national average as they were selling it to me. Guess common sense is not used here and I know they have a business to run.
The technician was great, very nice etc. No issues there.
Do yourself a favor, if you can wait, use a local well reputable small hvac that is not going to charge ""National Average"".

On October 1st the heat at my house went out. I used Bell several years ago to repair the same system and they were reasonably priced so I did not think to check current reviews. When I scheduled the appointment I was told that there would be a $49 service fee which would cover the tech coming to my house to examine the furnace, tell me what the problem was, and what it would cost to repair. The appointment was about a week away but I was ok with that as it was not supposed to get very cold for the next week. The tech came as scheduled on October 9th, the day before a cold front was scheduled to hit. I showed him the furnace and he immediately told me that he could troubleshoot the problem but it would cost about $250 to diagnose the problem. I explained to him that I was told that it would cost $49 for it to be diagnosed he did not have an explanation. When I pressed the issue he explained to me that the $49 charge that I was quoted would only apply if he could see something that was wrong, such as a switch being turned off, without actually opening up the furnace or doing any troubleshooting. At that point I reluctantly told him to go ahead as the weather report was saying that we were going to have cold weather move in the next day. He spent about 10 minutes troubleshooting and determined that the repair would cost an additional $1200. I again reluctantly agreed due to the timing of the cold weather. The repair took less than an hour. I looked up the part online and it can be purchased for about $200. Bottom line it was about an hour of work, a $200 part (retail), and a final bill of $1423.

Tech was inexperienced with older model boilers. Instead of trying to figure out the issue just said we needed to replace the entire boiler for $15K... Then followed up with a salesman that was trying to sell us a new boiler. Thank goodness we got another opinion from an experienced tech because he replaced one part for $600 and we were back up and running in an hour. Bell plumbing is a complete joke and a marketing ploy rather than experts that you can trust. Do not go with Bell!

Where to start with this company and the lackluster service. Last month I hired them to install a new shower valve and adjustable drain for my bathroom remodel. The valve went okay (so I thought at the time) but he looked at the drain like he had never seen one before. Insisted we needed to hire their ""utility services"" guy. So I took a second day off of work only to have this second guy show up without even a tape measure. He looked at the drain for less than a minute before declaring that I would need to jack hammer the concrete and do a complete reinstall for upwards of $2,000. Hard pass!
A second plumber I hired came out and in less than 5 minutes had located the drain access in my garage (I live in a multi-story condo) and replaced the drain in under 30 minutes. Funny what happens if you spend a minute actually looking for solutions!
Thanks to this drain debacle they created I lost a week and a half on getting a simple re-tile project done (holidays). Now that it's done and we installed the shower trim there's no water. Not surprised! I called to schedule time to get them to come review what's going on since I've already paid for a service that includes trim installation and they couldn't be bothered to get someone out in a timely manner. Oh, and they were sure to mention I'm still going to have to pay a fee for the visit. Real classy to mention charges when a customer is reaching out about a job done incompletely.
Don't hire this company, definitely go with someone else.

Our furnace failed and they came out and provided a fair estimate that best the competition. They did NOT try to up sell or buy a higher end unit. Very respectful, honest and accurate. Unbelievable customer service. Probably one of the best contractors I have dealt with.

I had a water heater replaced by Bell several months ago. The technicians could not have been better. They arrived on time, worked quickly and did a fantastic job. I wish I could say the same for the accounts payable department. Several months after the job was done I received a letter asking for payment. I found this odd because I provided the estimator with my credit card because payment in full was required as they were installing the day after the estimate was completed. I checked my records and could not find a charge and just wanted to verify that I had not been charged and make a payment by credit card if indeed they were not payed. I left message after message with Jasmine in Accounts payable and she will not return my call. I just left a message with her supervisor, Linda, and we will see if she will call me back. Why is it my job to hound a company in order to make a payment? Too bad the office staff aren't as efficient as the technicians
