Bell Brothers Plumbing Heating & Air
Company Overview
In 1991, brothers Kenny and Jerry Bell launched Bell Brothers Plumbing Heating and Air in Elk Grove, CA. After more than 25 years in the industry, Bell Brothers has diversified its offerings to encompass heating, air services, plumbing, ductwork, and insulation. Bell Brothers has earned more than $5 million in Home Energy Upgrade rebates for its customers, establishing itself as a leader in California's Home Energy Upgrade Program with utility companies like SMUD and PG&E. Currently, there are 140 service vehicles operating and 200 team members working daily to assist the Hayward and East Bay communities. It’s clear why Bell Brothers promises satisfaction every day of the year to its customers.
Bell Brothers began in 1982 when brothers Jerry and Kenny Bell enrolled in an HVAC program in Phoenix. They acquired the basics of the HVAC trade during their education. After finishing at the top of their class, the Bells entered the workforce to master their craft.
A few years later, Kenny and Jerry seized the chance to start a pizza business. They jumped at this chance, acquiring essential business skills, and started Bell Brothers in 1991.
Kenny and Jerry operated Bell Brothers from their pizza shop until 1995, when they transitioned to a dedicated HVAC business. Since then, Bell Brothers has expanded its services and grown into the Bay Area and Central Valley.
Close to 30 years ago, two brothers crafted a vision that led to the creation of Bell Brothers. Their goal was to build a community of clients who would enjoy unparalleled service and 100% satisfaction, every time.
Though it required time, we can now assert that we have fulfilled our vision. Today, Bell Brothers is the go-to provider for exceptional heating and air services, now offering plumbing, sewer, ductwork, and insulation. Our technicians undergo annual training to stay current with the latest industry trends and technologies. Let us show you what sets Bell Brothers apart.

Jaleel was here yesterday. He was great. He was here last year for service checkup my furnace is 30 years old and I knew it needed replacing. It went out on Wednesday & Bell Brothers rearranged their schedule to get someone out as soon as possible because of the cold & I'm 86. He was able to do a temporary fix until he can get an estimator out here for a new furnace after I get back from Christmas vacation. Brian was here last month for my routine maintenance. All your technicians are so friendly & helpful.
I was due for routine maintenance. My tech, Mateo, was outstanding. He arrived exactly at 1:00 p.m. Followed the COVID protocol. Explained everything that he was going to do beforehand. He spent quite a while on the system. Mateo then explained and showed me photos of what he performed on the heating system. Mateo was very courteous, respectful and just a very down to earth fellow. Mateo is a credit to the Bell Brothers Family.
UPDATE - The manager of Bell Brothers contacted and offered his aid in fixing the issue. He was very courteous and apologized for the inconvenience and bad customer service.
Danny J, who came by from their Santa Rosa office, was extremely knowledgeable and swiftly rectified the issue.
You guys are my favorite for any plumbing and heating issues.
Bell Brothers gave me surprise in every way.
Without my knowledge, Bell Brothers replaced the Coil with a different brand in my house at Discovery Bay. I now have a Lenox Furnace, Lenox Condenser, and an ADP Coil. But I actually ordered a Lenox Coil on my contract, not an ADP coil.
Since then, I have encountered other issues with this new system. To make a long story short, someone at Bell Brothers finally listened to my concern. That was three months after the installation. It was because I told Devin, the manage at Bell Brothers that I am getting ready to write a bad review for the company.
Devin agreed to compensate me with a small amount of money. Devin also promised me that Bell Brothers will honor the warranty for the whole HVAC system as it has written on the contract. The warranty will also cover the ADP Coil, too.
I have learned something, which is to double check the components before the installation. You may be surprised, or you may never find out.
Overall, the system has been working fine and it just passed permit inspection.
In the future, I may still hire Bell Brothers and give them a chance to other job.
Three stars for Bell Brothers.
Services: Install heating system, Install AC, Install thermostat
I had a very good experience working with Bell Brothers. Tim was the first person to come to my home. He quickly proved his competence and identified multiple points where Bell Bros could improve on the existing system. He also inquired about my water heater which I was getting quotes for. Bell Bros was able to provide an estimate for the HVAC and water heater. The quote was lower than everyone else and it included high end equipment. Tim was responsive with all my questions and true to his word. Throughout the process, anytime there were mix ups, Tim ALWAYS sided with me, the customer. I felt well taken care of because of his support.
The HVAC installation was taken care of by a great team from Bell Bros. Morjen, Reynan, Semisi, Julian, Luis, and Jordan were all so friendly and helpful during the install process. They answered all my questions and were quick to handle an equipment replacement when the wrong unit was installed. They were great throughout the entire process.
Keith installed the water heater and is the definition of professionalism. He knew his craft so well and gave me confidence that everything would be well taken care of. The installation went without any issues.
Everything is working well so far and I'm confident Bell Bros will make sure to fix any issue should it arise. Thank you all for your help in getting these big ticket items taken care of.
Aaron S.This review is in regards to my interaction regarding requesting a quote:
The Bell Brothers team responded to me through Yelp within minutes of my request. They gave me the lowest quote I'd received all day, but they couldn't fit me in for an emergency service at the time.
I recommend giving them a call or sending them a message on Yelp!
Our old (32 years) Day and Night furnace was intermittent, sometimes not heating our house at all. When it did heat the house it took about 10 minutes for the flame to come on.
We contacted Bell Brothers and was able to get Ron, Bell Brothers Plumbing
service manager, to come out and repair our furnace. Because of Ron's
30 years of experience, and 100 percent knowledge, he knew what parts to bring with him, and had a good idea what the problem was before he came here
Ron was very friendly, professional, and isolated the problem to the three wire pilot heat sensor switch. He cleaned the burners in our furnace, and replaced the defective part. He also checked the furnace to make certain it was safe, and operating properly.
Our furnace now works better than it has for many years. The furnace flame now comes on in seconds, and heats our home very well.
We are very appreciative for Ron and Bell Brothers Plumbing for solving our furnace/heating problem.

The central HVAC in my home had not been serviced since it was installed in 2012, other than regular filter replacements. I figured it was time to have it looked over and inspected/serviced. I got a flyer from Bell Brothers and I figured I would pay for their summer AC service. The technician came out and it wasn't long before he was pushing the up-sell, from one unnecessary component to the next (hard start kit for the AC, air purifier for the air handler, etc). Despite me declining, he continued to push and make a case for these items. The one positive thing to come out of this was that the tech identified a dying capacitor in my AC unit outside. Unfortunately, he wanted to charge me $300 to replace a part I could buy online for $15. He then told me that if I signed up for their ""rewards program"" ($240), that he would throw in the cost of the capacitor replacement for free, along with covering the current AC service *and* a subsequent heating system service. I figured that was fair.
5 days after the tech serviced the AC unit and replaced the capacitor, it was one of the hottest days of the year, and our AC system - for the first time in nearly 10 years since we've lived here - stopped working. I ended up having to go out and diagnose the problem myself, because despite being a ""rewards member"", nobody was available to come out to help me with this problem on short notice (even though that's exactly what they sell as a benefit of their program). I opened up the AC unit, took a look at the schematic that was pasted on the inside panel, and quickly realized the tech had improperly installed the replacement capacitor, such that it caused the fan on the AC unit to run backwards, improperly cooling the unit and causing the compressor to lock out due to overheat. I fixed the unit myself, and the company later refunded my rewards membership purchase to compensate me for my trouble, and also sent out a technician to look the system over and ensure no other damage had taken place.
Fast forward a few months, and I have a heating system inspection scheduled, and in addition they got me scheduled for a plumbing inspection since they do this too. The week of the heating and plumbing inspection, the heater inspector never showed up - they called after a while and said they would have to reschedule, so we rescheduled for the following week. The plumbing inspector never showed, no call, no nothing.
A week later, I get an email telling me that my heater tech is on the way for service, but the tech that's coming is the same technician that they originally sent out to service the AC who improperly installed the capacitor, who I requested they not send out again. The dispatch office said they were so sorry, and they'd have to reschedule for another time -- NOPE! I'm done. I do not wish to ever do business with this company again. Be warned.
Ryan K.I had a Bell Brothers replace a furnace in my condo. While I am happy with the final outcome, there were some struggles to get there.
It may have been an isolated incident but in my experience there is a disconnect between the sales team and the installation team. When Bell Brothers first installed my furnace it was not to the specifications that were discussed and outlined in the contract. The installation team had to make several calls to the office to sort out why the specifications didnt make it onto their work order. Due to this oversight, Bell Brothers had to come out the next day to redo the install to align with the contract terms.
There was a also a discrepancy between the pricing on the signed agreement and what the installers were expecting. This required further research/calls by the install team to resolve with their office.
A few small items on the quote were still not delivered after the second day, but they were not as important to me to fight for them to be completed.
On a positive note, you can tell a company's character by how they handle themselves when things dont go to plan. When the issues above were raised Bell Brothers remained courteous and friendly while researching and working toward a solution.
Ultimately I would hire Bell Brothers again, you just need to watch them to make sure they are delivering everything that they promise.
Our AC went out after a power outage a few weeks ago. At first it worked when power was restored but then recently it just stopped working all together. Needless to say if you ever get a chance to have Ron from Bell Brothers come look at your home just know you are in the best hands in the business. Thank you Ron for restoring our heat and air. Happy holidays.
