★★☆☆☆

Working with Behle was by far the most frustrating experience I've had with a contractor in the greater Des Moines area. I can't recommend anyone take the time to work with them.

Behle eventually completed the job, but not without revising the project plan three times. This caused costs to rise fourfold, along with holding on to larger sums of deposits over time. What was supposed to be a straightforward job took nearly three months to complete.

Originally, we were quoted for an 8-foot trenchless pipe repair job. This turned into a full line repair, requiring an additional third-party contractor to dig in the front yard. It took Behle three separate trips to provide an accurate project scope. The job started in early April and wasn't finished until late June, cutting into a family vacation that we had set as a hard deadline.

We were consistently left in the dark about the next steps, had no confidence in the accuracy or completeness of any quote provided, and had to chase down their office and management team for details. While Steve and Kelsey were professional and apologetic when discussing these problems, Thomas offered the typical excuse of blaming workers, saying, ""people don't want to work anymore and it's hard to find workers."" Thomas showed limited sympathy or understanding, and at the end, offered a measly 5% discount for our troubles.

Poor project management and poor communication. They get 2 stars for finishing the job they were paid to do.

I contacted Behle to fix my broken sewer pipes under my house and in my yard so I wouldn't have to dig up my finished basement. They quoted $21,000 and that was supposedly a discount as long as I paid it all in cash. Was given a 10 year warranty. I have had nothing but continued problems since they did the repair and their website says 24/7 emergency service but when I contact Behle, they act like I only paid them to unclog my sink, not repair 100 feet of pipe poorly. I have 3 bathrooms that I cannot use and have to run to the local gas station if we need to potty. After paying $21,000 I expect much more than the literal s$&@ I'm being dealt. I would not recommend this company after all the headache and problems I have been dealing with. I've waited hours and days for someone that was supposed to come but doesn't show. I have been more than patient and understanding. I am a recently widowed woman of an active duty spouse who they are trying to screw over, it feels. Absolutely no accountability for their shotty work! I have been dealing with this for months!
