Beery Heating & Cooling
Company Overview
There’s much about indoor air quality that may surprise you. Every day, up to 72 trillion microscopic irritants, or allergens, enter your home. Allergens consist of dust, pollen, pet hair, dander, dust mites, mildew, lint, fungi, tobacco smoke, cooking grease, and bacteria. Many of these particles are so tiny that your nose and throat cannot filter them out. They can penetrate deep into your lungs. Enhance your breathing with the AccuClean air filtration system by American Standard. It eliminates 99.98% of particles and allergens from your home's air. AccuClean outperforms typical 1"" throw-away filters and ionic room devices by a factor of 100. Opting for an American Standard air conditioner or heat pump with an Energy Star label is a smart choice for reducing your utility costs. What benefits come with a unit that has the Energy Star logo? Air conditioners or heat pumps with this certification are at least 20% more efficient than the current federal efficiency standards. When you purchase an American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning unit with the Energy Star label, you ensure maximum efficiency. Make sure to check with your American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning dealer regarding local incentives provided by numerous utility companies and financial institutions for Energy Star products. Beery Heating & Cooling has been serving the community as a family-owned and operated company since 1980. Prior to that, the Beery family was involved in the wood-burning stove and coal industry in the late 1800s. We have been dedicated to creating the ideal environment for you to live in for many years.

LOIS B.I admit, I am intimidated by furnaces. When I called on Monday to schedule an appointment, they were there by 1 pm. Every repairman has reassured me that the furnace is NOT going to blow up, but I stay away and leave all repairs to the professionals. When the job is complete and they show and explain ~ I nod and act like I understand, but not really, I am just happy to have heat. So glad there are people like this.
I definitely recommend Beery. All aspects of my getting a new Central Air Unit were positive.
-I asked a lot of questions during the initial inspection to find out what was wrong with my old unit. The tech was super knowledgeable, and explained things in a way that a homeowner could understand. (Side note- A tech from another company that I tried first came out. I asked the same questions and he was not able to answer them. He made me feel as if I would have to spend some obscene amount of money to get it replaced.)
-The owner John stoped by my house to explain the different pricing options I had. Great no pressure tactic sales. He even returned my phone call that was after hours on a few additional questions.
-Installation was great as well. The installer was great with answering questions as well. No additional clean-up on my end after the install.
I am glad, I shopped around.
Thanks John- you guys have a great team!
I used Beery Heating & Cooling to replace 2 AC and 2 furnace units with new American Standard equipment this past Spring. Once I did all of my research and homework and decided on the brand and equipment, I had 3 companies quote the job. John was by far the most no-nonsense and low pressure individual that I met with. He was quick to squash preconceived notions I had on specific units that I did not need and would have cost me more money. At the same time, John was thorough and his prices are extremely fair relative to the equipment and quality of install that is provided.
His entire team is professional and their follow up was always timely. The techs doing the install were courteous and professional and were very helpful in answering questions during the job. John personally came out on the job to see that everything was going according to plan and then personally followed up with a phone call about a week after the job was done to say thanks and see how things were going.
if you are going with American Standard hvac for your home, I couldn't recommend Beery Heating & Cooling more highly!
Joseph U.Picked Beery because I was behind his truck at a stoplight. Checked the website & Yelp, good decision. His tech are very prosfessional and no pressure selling. Heating plant about 17 years old. Got us up and running with the stipulation the new blower motor would be returned and credit toward new purchase. John just left after reviewing our needs and answering all of our questions and convincing us we didn't need top of the line. He explained the balance between initial cost and recovery from efficiency. (Not our first go round having to make this purchase in other homes) Very happy with the price, now waiting for an install date. Not a mistake to contract with him, plus been around since 1980.
Wow. Had the owner John Beery just hang up on me. Never had that happen. Ever.
I'm still in shock over this. The guy never even came out and looked at my situation, and he's telling me for certain that I have to do full replacement...maybe I do need a full replacement, that's fine, I'll do what is best. But we're talking multiple thousands of dollars here, I need to be informed on what my options are.
Aren't I the customer? I get to ask questions, right? I need to be as informed as reasonable on my situation before dropping thousands of dollars. Why on earth hang up on me so quickly? Why not simply answer my questions and let me speak freely?
I'm a small business owner myself, 25 years now - I have had my share of customer interactions that didn't go the way I hoped, but the last thing I'd ever consider is hanging up and telling them to go blow like this guy did.
It's too bad when the employees of a company are competent and nice. But the owner is not. Maybe he's having a bad day, but I doubt it. He would have called back and acted a bit more professionally I would think.
That's the end for me. Owner won't care anyway, he'll be in business another 32 years according to him.
Have to say I would call Beery every time! They came to give me a second opinion after another company was trying to insist that I replace my furnace that same day for 2 times the price. Beery came in at half price of the other company and replaced my furnace quickly. I just needed my 2nd furnace replaced and once again, quickly done and fairly priced. I can't say enough about how great a company this is. John and the rest of his staff are polite and very pleasant to work with!
The one thing I can say about this company is that did respond to the service call quickly. However, they came out 12/8/16 for $202 and said ""ignite failure"" due to strong winds. All else checked out good. 12/15/16 they come out for another $260 to clean out pilot tube saying it was old. Honestly, I feel this should have been fixed correctly the first time. Not willing to at least give me a break on the second invoice. Last time I call them, rather freeze.
My father always said, ""If it ain't broke, don't fix it,"" but after my furnace quit on the coldest night last winter (do they ever quit on a moderate day in the fall?), I knew I could no longer depend on my 28-year-old furnace and AC. Beery rescued me with a prompt, professional repair in January, so I called Beery first when I decided it was time to shop for replacements. John Beery met with me in less than a week, asked excellent questions, and presented the options that best fit my needs. He did not pressure me to buy more than I needed or to sign a contract without shopping around. He was honest, informative, and knowledgeable. Phil and Rob, his installation team, arrived a week later, and they were prompt, friendly, professional, and tidy. They took the time to review the equipment with me before they left. Beery really went above and beyond for me in every step of this process. Bring it on, Mother Nature! I'm ready!
This is the second time I have used this company. The first time was in Spring 2014 for servicing our furnace. (I didn't take the time to write a review then).
The second time was just now, August 2016, as our A/C unit stopped working. Each time a technician came to our home, they were courteous, extremely knowledgeable and patient, answering all our questions. My husband and I want to know, exactly, what was done, why and ask for maintenance suggestions too. The technicians really know their stuff and gladly impart their knowledge.
I have come to trust this company as I have been extremely happy with their service each time. If you want a trustworthy, reliable and honest company to service your HVAC needs, I highly recommend them. As a homeowner for over 35 years and having lived all over North America, I have been exposed to many HVAC companies: many I would not take the time to recommend.
Look no further. I highly endorse this company and think you will be very happy with their service. Incidentally, I spoke with a friend recently and she told me, unsolicited, that the builder of her Naperville home told her that this company was the best he has ever encountered, and told her to call them should she ever need future HVAC service. She concurred with me that BEERY is highly honest and ethical.
Kudos to the owner for running such a great company!
We had Beery install new furnace and AC in 2012 and have used them for regular maintenance ever since. They are thorough, competitive, honest and do not use high-pressure sales like some of the bigger names in the area. They did not oversell anything, they reviewed our needs, listened to our concerns and came up with the best furnace/AC to work for our home and our needs. If you have an emergency situation, they fit you in. For maintenance they can book a little further out, but that is to be expected. They always show up within the window they provide and they call to confirm. They are thorough, respectful of homeowners property and friendly, you couldn't ask for a better heating and cooling company!
