Had a new HVAC system installed with all of the latest technology. The install team did an outstanding job- finished the job in one day. They were very polite, professional, and extremely competent in customizing the installation to fit the space. The price we paid was very competitive and a great value for the system that we purchased. We will continue to work with Bedell for all of our home needs in the future

We hired Bedell to install a ductless mini-split heating/cooling unit. The installation went smoothly, at a fair price. Within a month and a half, the unit's indoor head unit's coils started to freeze over and it no longer cooled the room. Bedell's team came out and tested the refrigerant pressure, which was very low, and recharged the refrigeration. No further diagnostic or leak testing done on this visit, despite a loss of refrigerant. Within a few weeks, we experienced the same problem (very little cooling and frozen over coils in the head unit). During their second trip out, they identified a leaky refrigerant-line flange attached to the head unit. They tightened the flange and recharged the unit. Three days later, same problem, except the entire head coil was frozen over after a running the system in cooling mode for an hour. It seemed like they made the problem worse. I scheduled another repair visit, which they blew off completely, without notifying me. I scheduled a second visit, which they blew off completely. When I called the lead HVAC technician, he told me that the owner had cut me off from service...that the installation had become ""a thorn in their side."" And that's the last I heard from them.

I hired another company to inspect and repair the system. They immediately identified that the flange had been installed incorrectly and was leaking wildly. The tech's leak detector sounded like a Geiger counter at ground zero in Chernobyl upon entering the room! Before he even approached the system. They diagnosed and properly fixed the flange. I'm out an additional $1000, but at least now I have a system that works, and an HVAC company I can trust.

Terrible experience. Spent $2k on slab leak and still had to end up replacing water heater which was never diagnosed as needing to be replaced by technician. Communication was poor at best.

I have been a customer of Bedell Plumbing since I purchased my home in 2012. I have always had courteous interactions and a good experience. That is until recently.
I am on septic system and after my parents moved in with me, it filled up quicker than expected. Unfortunately, my toilets and shower backed up and flooded my main bath and hallway. I called Beddell and they did come out promptly eventhough it was on a weekend. Was told that it was a full tank and had to have it emptied and then he could clear the clog. So, I called and found a company to empty that evening. That technician said the septic was working fine and really didn't need emptying. (I had just had it done less than a year ago.) Well, ok, paid them and asked Bedell to come out the next day to clear the line.
The next day, they came and the plumber got his snake stuck in the pipes leading out to the septic system. Ok, stuff happens...next day, I was told that I had to put in an outside clean out access in order for them to get the cable out. $$ I wasn't happy as it is on them that he got the equipment stuck, but ok. Following day, they came with an excavater and dug up my yard, put in the cleanout (which is now in the middle of the backyard :( ) They left before I got home from work. Next day, toilets and shower backed up again! I called and Bedell sent 3 what looked like very young and new technicians. They did something in the backyard and ran a snake, reset the toilet. Told me it was warranty work, no charge. Ok, great. Then someone from the company called and said he'd drop the price down to $1250 since the cable being stuck was on them. I reluctantly agreed.
Then...wait for it...the next day, Sunday, the toilet and shower backed up again. I was not happy to say the least. I called their on call number and finally got a return call about 3 hrs later. During this time, I once again I have to shut all the water off. I take care of my elderly parents.
The ""gentleman"" I spoke to was extremely rude. He told me he couldn't get anyone there that day. I explained the ongoing issue and shared that I felt since this was an ongoing problem, I should have prescedence. He said he could give me the name of a company ""they work with."" Ok, thinking it is someone they contract with, I agreed. This company was great. They were there within 2 hours and repaired my issue within 4 hours. When he gave a bill for another $400 I was perplexed. I explained that the guy from Bedell gave me their name/# -warranty work...? He said htey are not contracted with Bedell, pay me. Ok, at least he actually fixed the problem. Said my toilet was set incorrectly, new line to septic was full of mud. Nice.
By this time, my subfloor was ruined, as was my hardwood in the hallway. I had to have the floors in the bathroom and hall replaced.
This was right around Thanksgiving. So, my parents had to move out for 30 days while the back of the house was being worked on. I couldn't decorate for the holidays,, etc. I eventually received a bill from Bedell for $1250. I made a mental note to call and give them copy of the $400 bill, but in all honesty, with workers in the house, work and holidays, I forgot.
Today I get a snippy call from their office person.. LONG STORY SHORT-DON'T USE FOR ANYTHING MAJOR. NOT IMPRESSED.

Contacted them at the very beginning of April, quotes and estimates on April 5th, spigot/softener installation on the 9th. It started off good; they were really responsive and got someone out to estimate the water softener rough-in and spigots, which were installed just days later. They charged me $1300 to install two spigots which were very quickly and easily accessible, which seemed a little steep (I did a little more research and found that amount to be high compared to other competitors in the area). The water softener rough-in was okay, although the valves were pointing away from the water softener - easily worked-around but takes up more space. The Tech also said I shouldn't have my sink, fridge, or washer on soft water because the water is too salty to drink and that he recommends this to all his customers. I already knew water softeners don't add salt to the water, they add sodium ions so the calcium and magnesium can't attach and make the water hard. I paid $450 for the rough-in; I finished the softener installation myself. They sent a different person to come out and do the bathroom remodel estimate in early April. He was great and detailed and we were on the same page throughout the visit. He said he'd get back to me in a few days. I texted a week later and got a reply that he'd have it finished up by the end of the week. I was okay with that, as long as I had a timeline, I knew what and when to expect it. Communication was spotty, but I finally received the estimate May 8th.

Bedell Plumbing visited my home on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 to repair a non-invasive issue with two of my toilets. They were on-time, professional, and provided me with a bit of ""plumbing education"" for me, the non-plumber home owner. I appreciated their attentiveness and no-nonsense approach to getting the job done efficiently. I'd work with them again for the reasons stated above and provide my recommendation to anyone reading my review.

Bedell Plumbing in Carmel has given us A-Plus service, not only at our home, but at our son's home also. The plumbers are skilled, friendly and clean. They have all been great at listening and then diagnosing and solving our many issues. When the problem isn't just a plumbing issue, they have given us names and numbers of dependable contractors most of whom have practiced their trade for years. Bedell Plumbing is dependable, glad we found them!

This is your plumber if you want punctual arrival, getting the job done, and unpredictable billing. Our admittedly old toilet has started to run continually 3 times in 6 years; 9 months ago, re-called Bedell (whom I've used for years for first 2 reasons and they worked on it previously); said ""great, you called just within one-year warranty,"" fixed it for second time at no cost. So when repair failed at 9 months, silly me, I called Bedell an got another punctual arrival but this time escalated from ""there's something funny about the flapper ball"" to ""we better rebuild everything."" $125, no warranty mentioned on invoice. See Brad K's review.

This company is awful, they came out to fix a dripping faucet on my tub and quoted me a price, after they got started they said they had to doubled the price to fix it right, now it does not work at all and the are tripling the price to fix it. I will not ever use them again and I strongly suggest nobody else use them.

I had Bedell come out to replace a water heater in a rental property I have in Indianapolis. Despite telling me they would get out and replace the water heater as soon as possible (24 - 36 hours), it took them nearly a week to get the work done. They were poor in their responsiveness and took no accountability for the delay which, rightfully so, really upset the tenant who couldn't shower during the outage and blamed me as a landlord as a result.

Their poor communication and inability to meet their commitments are why I would never use them again. Additionally, their bill came out to $200 more than what they had previously told me with the rationale being that the water heater needed as an ""odd size"".

There have to be better plumbers in the Indianapolis Metro area.
