Brook S.We had a gas leak in our home, and was told by LG&E we needed a plumber, to come out and fix the issue before turning our gas back on. My husband and I moved into our first home last year, and had Becht/Givens come out for a water heater issue. We had a good first experience, so we called them again for this service. We wanted to make an appointment for them to come out, and the only appointment was for 6pm the next day. We all left the house, gathered necessities and stayed somewhere. Until we could come back to a warm house. We received a call around 3pm from a technician by the name of Brayton, asking if he could be there around 4:30 to 5pm. We said that was fine and I started heading to the house. Brayton and another technician end up showing at almost 6pm anyway. So I left for the house earlier than needed and waited longer than needed. They came in started doing their thing. Mentioned at one point, one of the pipes they couldn't test was in our master bedroom closet, and might have to tear down our drywall! That was not something I expected to hear, neither wanted. Brayton said he tightened a 90 elbow in the attic. They finished their pressure test and said that they weren't seeing a leak. When it came to paying he brought up a membership and that it would save us money, I agreed to that as it was going to be about $100 cheaper for the service. Remember this that was all that was mentioned before paying. Once they leave I receive a receipt via email. It listed the membership, a late hour fee of $40 and the service itself. We were never disclosed any information about a late hour fee, from making the appointment to paying for it. I called Customer Service and the technician stating that the late hour fee should have not been applied, as it was not disclosed to us at any point! This was said to be sent to billing and I have yet heard back. LG&E came back that night did their pressure test and it was an automatic fail. Called Brayton our technician back and told him our gas was still off. He said he'd call us back to see what needed to be done. He then came back with we'd have to repipe the whole house, including tearing down the drywall in our closet. We were devastated by this. He said he could probably come out to do measurements close to 5pm the next day. He said he would give us a call during the next day. We never received a call during the day and I was waiting at the house again. We received an email with an appointment confirmation for service on January 6th. We did not set this appointment up and that was insane for them to say they couldn't start doing work until then. I called Customer Service stating I wanted to cancel our appointment with Brayton, and the January appointment that was made for us! Customer service said they'd do so and send out messages to all the managers, so they could contact us. While on the call with them Brayton leaves a voicemail stating he wasn't going to make it, and put us on the books for the next day instead. I called back and told him we already canceled our service and that he should have handled, the situation better. He then goes on to say we don't really have the manpower to get a lot done. We called another company to come help us, the tightened a notch on one of the pipes connected to the furnace, checked the valves, did their tests. Never went into the attic, mentioned the pipes in our closet or said that our issue was a full repipe. Their price was less than half the amount I was charged with Becht/Givens. LG&E came back out and their test passed! The gas was tuned on. As a result of Becht Givens lack there of service my family was out of the house two extra nights than needed and with a bill that needs to be refunded. By law disclosed on the receipt We had the right to cancel the transaction at anytime prior to midnight of the third business day after the date of transaction. I called Customer Service stating that and why. I was told those notes were being sent to all managers. It's been almost a week and no one has contacted me. I won't stop calling until resolved.
Overpriced. Pushy with sales. If Jerome comes to your house be prepared to spend a lot of money. Get w second opinion. 2 and 3 times higher than other companies in the area.
Jason B.Called on tuesday with a water leak. They seemed professional and up to the repair but had to leave and return on wed. Wed morning they canceled the appointment leaving me with a leak. On thursday one man arrived and proceeded to dig for the leak, five hours in- and he was working at finding the line- a supervisor called to stop work, and insisted that we needed to replace our entire service- at a cost of $7100!. Then, they left. Left me with the water turned off after three days and no real solution. Fortunately Maeser got a plumber out to me within two hours and he had the leak repaired within an hour!
I have been using their service for two years. Pervious owner of my home used them for 10 years. Reasonable and very professional. They give a two hour window and service tech Chris Mays always calls when he is within 1/2 of arrival. Quick and clean. No need to shop this service.
James B.We knew our full HVAC system needed to be replaced as it was almost 20 years old and had been leaking Freon for the last 2-3 years. We got several quotes and ultimately went with Becht/Givens, who we actually accessed as part of our Costco membership.
The salesman, Mike, was by far the most professional of anyone we talked to when getting quotes. I particularly appreciated that he asked a series of questions that resulted in a system more customized to our needs. I had to coach others to do this because we tend to keep it very cool in the summer and cool in the winter, meaning our needs are different from the norm.
The pricing was straightforward and the equipment we were offered had good reviews online. I also appreciated that they were able to offer us a range of options, including down to which thermostat we'd like best.
Installation of our new system (AC, furnace, humidifier, and thermostat) went smoothly and was done in one day. The crew was very intentional to keep our house clean and did a nice job sweeping up after themselves. I appreciated that even though they ran into an unanticipated plumbing issue, they had a plumber onsite in less than an hour and it in no way impacted the amount we ultimately paid.
Finally, I have to say how helpful the Costco connection has been here. We received a 15% instant rebate, had the option of low cost financing, and also received a Costco Cash card with an additional 15% of the purchase price. As executive members (we upgraded our membership for this purchase) we'll also get another 2% back from that. Ultimately, the process was easier, the price seemed fair, and we are very happy with our new system so far.
I am so pleased to have done business with this company. I initially wanted a splitter but Mike crunched the numbers on my existing AC and discovered that adding duct work would accommodate the need for AC/heat and saved me $$$$. The guys came out within days and they were just as professional and friendly as Mike! I will definitely use them again. Saved me a lot of money and looked at my basement furnace as well and gave recommendations and left price list for ultra violet light project (later) very reasonable prices!
Writing this to tell people beware..called about no ac.on a Sat.
I knew call would be 100. Nice guy came over with freon leak wand....of course it alerted on both coils inside and outside on a six year old unit..tech quoted ballpark price of $4,000..but asked if I would like senior advisor to call...I said yes..20 min.
Later here came the call...quoting new unit for $8600 OR 150.00 MONTHLY..??? If I did not like the price he could SHARPEN HIS PENCIL!
ON MONDAY I HAD AN HONEST TECH. COME OUT.
LEAK WAS VISIBLE..MADE REPAIR IN 30 MIN AND
CHARGED...175.00..SAID UNIT WAS IN GREAT SHAPE.
This is a very accurate depiction of events.
Thank you so much Anthony and Josh. What could have easily been a dishonest ""you need a new water heater moment,"" was a heartfelt we will do what we can to get your water heater working, and if not, then you will know you will actually need to replace your water heater."" Anthony and Josh worked hard to make my water heater work, to make sure there wasn't a gas leak, and made sure to let me know if I need anything down the road, I can call 24/7. I highly recommend their plumbing service, and am so very glad I called!! Thank you!!
These people are not professional and don't show up or call when you schedule appointments. I am signed up for monthly plan and signed my rental properties up, but the service is so bad that I will be discontinuing this service.
Diane B.I am updating again. No reply from this company from installing a float switch on my heater when #1 it wasn't needed, #2 then went bad and caused my heater not to kick on, #3 then was told by their Supervisor Danny that was I sure someone else didn't install it, #4 left a message for his boss Rich to follow up who lied, #5 filed a complaint on here over a month ago, #6 was told 100 percent satisfaction. Still not resolved. Please everyone, think twice about using this company. They lie, don't do their jobs, and are not committed to satisfaction for the customer. This should have been resolved when I first called the company. Instead I was given the run around, and continue to be given the run around. Patricia Gilmore who supposedly handles complaints has only emails every couple of weeks with a story in her mind that has never been asked of me what happened but takes her employees stories and lies. I have told them I intend to call the Better Business Bureau.......and now this is my next step. It's really sad. This also won't let you post til you give a star. There should be a choice to not give one at all.
