A bunch of crooks. Quotes me $95 to come out and diagnose. Then on the same call after talking g to a technician quoted me $395 out of nowhere. Like it was easily the dumbest way to lose business. The receptionist had zero idea of how to keep business. And I bet it was the owner.

RUN, don't walk FROM this company if you require repair or replacement of your water heater. Fidelity Home Warranty is how I was introduced to this John guy, who ""appeared"" nice at first. I was informed by Fidelity that my water heater was not covered because of a missing pilot assembly kit. I decided on just replacing my water heater and consulted with John since he was the person I was dealing with. I asked him the price to replace my water heater, since he seemed opposed to the repair of the part. His quote was... ARE YOU READY? $5,700 with a $500 discount if I was a AAA member. TRUE STORY. I got my water heater replaced (15 year old GE/RHEEM) with a brand new 50 Gallon Bradford White for $2,200 from The Water Heater Company, and they have 4.9 stars with glowing reviews. I felt it was my duty to post an honest review in case you are trying to make a decision with Bear Plumbing. Don't do it!!

I would love to give a better star due to the technician, but unfortunately, the ridiculous hobbit of a secretary that works there was terrible. Her communications were false lies and deceit.
Wasting our time costing us thousands of dollars by sitting around and waiting for a technician that was never coming within the five hours booked by her.

I don't care to her nor do I care to remember, but all I have to tell is beware.

As far as the technicians they came in swiftly did what they needed to do and saved us money as they're supposed to since they're being paid by the insurance companies. The only winner is the owner of this company.

SCAM SCAM SCAM.
Scammed my elderly parents into paying over TRIPLE of what a water heater should have cost. They have no remorse and take advantage of people. Awful horrific people. Nice rolls Royce in the driveway when you look up their address btw.

Bear Plumbing was assigned to me through Fidelity National Home Warranty. Initially, I was VERY skeptical after reading negative reviews on multiple platforms. John explained in detail and visually showed me the problem of what caused a leak in the tub and why it was coming through the wall in the ceiling of our laundry room. He took time to explain what happened and showed me how he fixed the issue. I am pleasantly surprised by the professionalism and outcome.

I was also impressed with the software his business has in place, which allows you to see when he is on his way and track the progress of the service order!

John was super helpful and friendly and took care of our issue quickly, while keeping me posted on progress. Our sink and laundry haven't backed up since the service. Well done, Bear Plumbing!

Due to a recent rainstorm, our tankless water heater stopped working. John was able to immediately diagnose the issue (the water heater was flooded) and offer possible options to resolve the issue. He was also willing to clear his schedule to return the next day to perform the necessary work. His work was quick and clean. Not only did he help us replace the water heater but he worked directly with our homeowners insurance company to make sure that process went smoothly. He communicates well and is responsive. It's clear he cares about his customers and goes the extra mile to make sure they are taken care of.

SCAMMER! DO NOT USE! I was assigned this company by my Home Warranty company and I have never met such a dishonest person. The technician clearly had no intention of doing any work and sadly I did not read these reviews earlier. The job was to fix a leaking faucet. Red flags all over. 1. ""John"" marked the service En Route, Started, Completed all at the same timestamp BEFORE even arriving at my place. I received text alerts all at once through the Home Warranty company's Dispatch tracker. 2. John arrived about 5 minutes after the job was marked complete. He turned on the faucet which was leaking slightly due to normal wear and tear, shook the faucet hard and said it needed to be replaced. He then said the Home Warranty company only covers a $30 faucet but that he could sell me a $250 Kohler faucet that he has in his truck. I stated that I would just use the like faucet covered by my warranty and that I didn't want to pay any more out of pocket. John then went on Amazon and showed me a $40 faucet that seemed to have decent reviews. I asked to take some measurements to make sure that faucet was roughly the same size. I also took a picture of the faucet that he showed me. 3. John said that before he could order the faucet I needed to click on a link on my phone and that I needed to click the link in order for him to get his next job. Skeptical I clicked on the link which was to the Home Warranty Dispatch site with the job marked complete and asking for a vendor Rating. I politely said this says the job is complete and that I would like to wait until he has actually done the work before I provide a rating. 4. John quickly said ok I will order the faucet and left, without taking any pictures of my faucet, nor giving me any timeframe for installation and next steps.
I had a really bad feeling about this vendor between the marked completion before arrival at my place, the attempted upsell out of pocket and the forced rating before work was started. As soon as John left I called the Home Warranty company (Fidelity) to report this shady experience. Sure enough my gut was correct, the Home Warranty company said that the Vendor already submitted a report stating that my faucet was bent and broken from excessive force and misuse and therefore the Home Warranty claim was denied! I am in complete shock as to how this vendor is still being contracted by the Home Warranty company. I spoke to a manager and my only recourse is to get another plumber's diagnosis at my own expense (showing normal wear and tear) and then the Home Warranty company will send another vendor to do the job. I don't understand why I have to go all through this when I am the Warranty customer and the Vendor clearly violated all the Home Warranty company rules! This will be my last year purchasing a Home Warranty so that go forward I can research and hire a reputable vendor. Beyond frustrated!!

We wish we had read prior reviews before dealing with this company. They also work for Fidelity National Home Warranty. Rather than fix our problem, Bear attempted to sell us a new appliance. When we refused, they gave a false diagnosis to the Warranty company, which then denied the claim. When we were told to put in a recall to have Bear come out again, they set up a time, then called us, but never showed up to our home. We were then charged another service charge.
We are still dealing with Fidelity to clean up this mess. When we explained Bear never showed the second time, Fidelity said they called and Bear claimed they came.
This is a no-win situation which will have to end up in court. What a mess. Hard to say if they are incompetent, just unethical, or both. Stay away.
