AHS sent them out, less than 5 minutes later they left stating they needed to get an authorization. Nothing happens for a day and after calling AHS it turns out they submitted an authorization stating I modified the plumbing hidden in a wall and they would need to charge an extra fee to fix a simple leak at a joint. CRIMINALS
Duane C.This is why I hate home warranties. They always get the worst companies to do the job. Like this company for example.
#1- they charge too much for code upgrading on a water heater.
#2- they brought the wrong water heater to the job, therefore the job is delayed at least another day.
#3- The staff are very unprofessional.
Mallory M.I had two plumbers (Chris and Matt or Zach?) come from my home warranty company and they were polite and patient with my dog that was crying the whole time they were here . They were quick and replaced a few washers and our garbage disposal. Seems to have resolved our leak.
Mary Y.Sorry we don't remember the two men's names but they called ahead to let us know they when they would arrive. They both introduced themselves and went right to work. So professional and nice, in and out in about ten minutes. I would highly recommend Bear!
Austin G.I was supposed to have bear plumbing come out between 11-5pm. Nobody called, showed up or apologized for their stupidity. However when I called and asked if they can have someone come the next day, they said they can try between the same time frame. Then when I call back they said they can't do it at all. I highly recommend you do not use this company ever! Use anyone else. Literally, any one else.
Reem H.This company was sent by American Home Shield (AHS) to look at a sewer ejector pump for our garage unit that was not turning on. They spent less than 5 minutes there and informed us that the pump was burnt out and needed to be scrapped and replaced and that they would coordinate with AHS. They were clearly in a big hurry. They later reported to AHS that the broken pump was not caused by wear and tear, and AHS denied the repair. Here's the important part: After they left we did some of our own research online and quickly discovered that the first thing to test with an ejector pump is the piggyback plug. We quickly figured out that the pump IS NOT BROKEN and RUNS JUST FINE. The piggyback plug just needs to be replaced. So this company spent 5 minutes and diagnosed a perfectly running pump as 'burnt out' because they couldn't even be bothered to test the two plugs. (The regular plug is bypassed by the piggyback plug). The pattern is that AHS will cover smaller repairs like a leaky faucet but they are otherwise a complete racket and the companies they send out are part of their scam. They cash in on a quick fee for coming out for 5 minutes and help AHS deny the repair. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Paula J.Definitely wouldn't recommend. Placed a claim through our home warranty (American Home Shield) on a Sunday for an urgent request- we had a stoppage that resulted in water flooding into our master shower anytime a toilet would flush or faucet was used. Both toilets clogged and we had to shut off our water. We were told by the home warranty that Bear Plumbing would definitely have this fixed that day due to the urgent nature. By 6p, my husband had to call to get an update and we were told they couldn't do it until the next day (Monday) between 8-10a. At 8:30a that Monday, we got a call that they wouldn't be coming until a window of 1p-6p (we have twin 1-year-old sons and no running water without flooding, FYI.) When they came to inspect the situation, the larger problem wasn't even covered by our home warranty so we'd be paying out of pocket. The plumber said they would fix it the NEXT day (Tuesday) between 9a-10p. Hours later, the plumbing company called to confirm a 1p-6p fix window on Tuesday despite telling us 9a-10a hours earlier. At that point, we called Detour Plumbing to come and fix the problem because we were going on 3 days without a solution and cancelled the job with Bear. Why say one time and then continue to bump it later? This was obviously an urgent request... Maybe dealing with them outside of a home warranty would have elicited a quicker response, but we were definitely not a priority and had to continually check in with them regarding updates. When I voiced my complaint to the woman scheduling, we didn't receive any sort of explanation or apology, but rather ""so do you want 1p-6p or not?"" We won't be working with Bear.
Erica M.So glad our American Shield Home Warranty brought us these two lovely bears. After two failed installations and astronomical estimates by less capable and less handsome plumbers, Bear Plumbing came to the rescue. Two dudes from Bear Plumbing showed up, did the work in 5 minutes, and saved us 700 dollars.
Mario G.Very incompetent plumbing company. Called my home warranty for service on 2 old faucets that are leaking. AHS claims the plumber wrote down the issue was excessive force and not covered.
After speaking with an employee there they took the stand he said , she said blah blah I am in the process of retrieving the full report but all in all.
Your plumber had every ability to fix the faucets, instead he told the AHS excessive force or force was the cause... I called another plumber and he claims it's not unrepairable.
Fraud of a company - stay away!!!
They get assigned by American Home Shield , they show up and find something to take it outside the scope of warranty to charge you triple the price of other plumbers, they showed up at the house to change a pressure valve under warranty, they said they don't carry that size if we need to change it they have to change the pipe size too. Just because they do not have it in their van, then report to home warranty that poor need to be changed, they are scammers . They try to rip you off by getting calls from home warranty, they are joke. Do not trust them never hire them if they are assigned by home warranty just refuse them.be aware
