I had a service contract with BCI literally for years. I was supposed to receive a yearly plumbing inspection. I set up such an inspection because I needed some plumbing and wanted an estimate. I received the estimate for the work and was then charged $125 for the estimate, and all the tech had to do was look at the job.

I have written letters to the BCI and have been ignored. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau... which they will also likely ignore because the company is not BBB accredited.

I suggest, based on my experience, that you pass this business by.

Ask for pricing before they come out. I didn't realize the warranty labor is not covered. Rheem hot water tank under warranty failed after just 5 years (12 year warranty). The thermostat system is in my opinion overly complicated but that's another story.

The covered part is $112, however the labor was $350. It would be cheaper for me to ask my Doctor to do the install

A new tank, just like it, is $850 at Home Depot. My son is out of state and does remodeling, he said it is about a 15 minute job. Then BCI charged me $95 to come out and tell me that it would take $350 to do the repair. I expected more from them, I will find someone else in the future

Last year, BCI Mechanical saved us in July by installing a new a/c system quickly with NO problems. It was a very nice experience. Today, BCI Plumbing sent Johnny to work on an older and very difficult Moen faucet problem. Thanks to Dylan for sending Johnny to our rescue!

I've done thousands of dollars in business with BCI over multiple years focusing on plumbing & HVAC work. In the last year service has suffered, coupled with recent changes to fees & rates, making their services unbearable. I was quoted with 6 different options on a yard leak that I found and unearthed about 50% myself. The fix ranged as high as $1800 down to $550 which was described as a band-aid! This was almost $200 more than last year on different home. There is much miscommunication starting from the office out to the technicians which resulted in my unbearable frustration. Hands down, I do not recommend this company to anyone!

2 Days Later: The repair for the yard leak from another plumbing professional resulted in a $170 charge. There was absolutely no need for 6 optional solutions on a 3/4 inch PVC line break having a top dollar $1800 repair solution.

Edit again: I really want to thank Leo who called today to apologize for the lack of communication and billing problem we encountered. It meant a lot that he reached out and was empathetic to our frustrations. And it wasn't a call to try and persuade us to give BCI another chance, he genuinely just felt bad and wanted us to know there was no charge. It sounded as though he may have been brought into this roll to fix some of the service issues and if we get to work with a Leo, I would absolutely consider giving BCI another chance due to the incredibly nice techs and Leo's kind of attention to customer service.

I stand by the techs being nice but the scheduler was a nightmare to work with. I have requested specifics regarding an estimate we got 5 times now in 2 months and still have not received the answers. There was a misunderstanding in that I thought they were coming to balance our system, instead it was just an estimator, and then i received a bill for the estimate I didn't request. I didn't want to move forward without specifics and now it's August so we've wasted the summer being hot. We won't be using BCI anymore.

We had preventative maintenance performed on August 8th. Our technician, Nicholas, was incredibly nice and thorough. I had asked him about how often to change our air filters and he answered me thoroughly, then offered to check their condition for me, then offered to replace them for me (we had extras in the house) which I very much appreciated because I'm pregnant and should stay off ladders. HeHe took the time to explain everything and answer my questions thoroughly, and I feel like our house is already cooler from the cleaning he did and the suggestions he made. I do think we'll have to have BCI come in and clean our ducts, but if everyone is as nice and thorough as Nicholas, I have no qualms about that or any other maintenance they suggest. The price was quite reasonable as well.

BCI Mechanical came to our home to fix an AC unit that suddenly stopped working. The technician, Dustin, was courteous, knowledgeable, and fast. Once he looked at the unit and determined the problem, he presented my husband and I with multiple options for repair, which included pricing (shared on an iPad). All options were explained, and Dustin was able to answer all of our questions. I appreciated that the bill was not a surprise, and we were able to make the right choice for the age of our AC unit and our family budget. I've used BCI for years (both plumbing and AC) and have always had a good experience.

We have been consistent customers of BCI Mechanical for the past 6 years. Have used them for all of our HVAC and plumbing needs. Apparently a few months ago they changed their pricing. Today we are having a toliet repaired and the lowest cost option is $235! We have this done with two other toliets last year and the cost was less than half! We will no longer use BCI Mechanical.

This company gave me a quote without coming out to look at the job and then when came, would not abide by the quote. Supervisor ugly when installer was here and wanted to do all the work as quoted and insisted they not do part of the work. I will never use them again after being a good customer with them for 20+ years.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible !

They were supposed to fix a wine cellar cooler unit when we bought our house. The seller was supposed to cover the work, so time was of the essence. They took so long, mis-diagnosed, charged $600 and never fixed the problem. It will end up costing 4-5k that we didn't need to spend. Did not call back or take any responsibility -- only called to collect and threaten. months later.
We paid, begrudgingly, because they basically scammed us.
Don't ever use these guys -- horrible !!
